I got one of those compact makita inflator for the exact reasons you stated, smaller size and less weight. But I ended up returning it because you have to hold down the trigger the entire time and the ridgid inflator I had thats about the same size has an auto fill and the ability to plug into the "cigarette lighter" port. I had the m12 inflator before but the the boxy shape didnt fit properly in the applications I needed it for. Maybe the makita 181 has the features Im looking for but i think its bigger and probably wouldnt fit in my applications.

The trigger is really annoying, only reason I never bought one. The Dewalt 20v one also has those features you mentioned.

Ya, it's stupid that Makita didn't include a trigger lock... but you can simply use a zip tie, clamp, velcro strap, etc.
