I save my toilet roll inner tubes, cut them in half, fill them with potting compost and put them in a tray. This makes it very easy to transplant without damaging the roots because the cardboard will eventually rot down when planted out.

It’s good to find new ways to start seeds, but it’s the transplanting that gets them. Good tip on the net pots.
    Have a blessed day!

Awesome idea. I have found that an ice pick works well for putting drainage holes in the bottom. I usually wait until I have soil in my container and then it’s easier to push the ice pick through the bottom to make the holes. Thank you for your advice on this method of seed starting.

I have never heard of the milk jug method, fantastic idea! Do you think I could use my Biodegradable Seed Nursery Bags for this? If so it will save a lot of room in the house. Which seeds/plants are good for this kind of greenhouse?

Cold hardy such as cabbage, swiss chara, beets, kale and lettuce. I'm not sure about the bags but it is worth a try. I love gardening experiments

I've seen this before with mixed results. I really don't get it, seems like a lot of effort for not much benefit.
A cold frame would be more permanent and easier to work with.
But hey, I admit I like trying crazy stuff like this too 😂
