  • This is an up to date Guild Wars 2 guide covering everything you need to know about the Weaver, which is an elite specialization of the Elementalist. This video shows off all of the weapons the Weaver can use and looks at all of the individual weapon skills. It also has a look at all of the healing, utility & elite skills the Weaver has at it's disposal. It then goes on to look at the elite specialization for the Weaver and what each individual trait does for your character. The video finishes with a short combat demonstration with a basic Weaver build so you can see what it looks like when it all comes together.

  • @happy_camper

    Awesome video. Really thorough. You've convinced me to try this out! Some of the mechanics actually remind me a little bit of the warden class in LOTRO.. They have a mechanic called a "gambit" system, which utilizes different combos to unlock a gambit attack that has a unique effect - similar to the weaver's dual attack. Various buffing effects for yourself and allies, damage over time, AOE, etc.. The list of combinations is lengthy, and there are differences between melee and ranged weapon stances. But weaver adds a ton of new possibilities by having unique effects for each of the different weapons. I just started playing GW2, and I was told this class/elite spec wasn't the best choice for a beginner.. but.. I don't care, I just gotta try this out 😃. It looks so epic.

    So, just to clarify, the dual attack doesn't change based off your off-hand weapon, only the main hand? So a Sword and Dagger will have the Sword dual attack, while a Sword and Focus will still have the Sword dual attack even though the off-hand weapon is different?

    • @HeroicFlamingo
      @HeroicFlamingo  Před 3 lety +5

      Yes, that's spot on! Dual attack is defined by the combination of elements and the main hand or two hand weapon equipped 😃

  • @ryanm7654
    @ryanm7654 Před 2 lety +4

    So I guess with weaver, you could potentially just use staff or scepter/dagger to benefit from the “3” (unique, dual element) ability and still play from a mostly ranged position?
    Instead of playing with the sword and staying melee only? If so that sounds a lot more fun and versatile than tempest

      A bit late here, but it could! Weaver is meant to be constantly switching elements though rather than sticking with one element combo. It's the converse of the Tempest spec in that regard. Many of the traits offer bonuses for swapping elements and throwing out as many dual strikes as possible is often a rather good idea as they're quite powerful and build your barrier.

  • @Michael-zp6hq
    @Michael-zp6hq Před rokem +2

    hey man
    i dont want to seem rude but this isn't really a guide, it's more of a description of the weaver class
    you don't go into any rotations or mention the gear to go for
    most of the video is spent reading out the description of spells, which I already know
    fx. at 17:42, you start describing primordial stance
    for the purposes of a guide we do not need to know that the spell channels the prime elements at their core, it's irrelevant
    for someone who is thinking of starting the game as an elementalist this is a great video, but as a person who's just got to level 80 and started playing weaver it wasn't that helpful
    I would strongly suggest scripting the points you want to talk about, and turning your in game sounds right down
    there's a harvard lecture called 'How to Speak' that's got about 13M views on youtube that contains a ton of amazing points on how to make succinct informational videos
    once again not aiming to be rude just wanted to give you a little feedback, thank you for the content

    Ugh why are all the elite specs for a mage MELEE????

    • @ryanm7654
      @ryanm7654 Před 2 lety +1

      Because it gives the class more variety than a standard mage. Elementalist already has scepter / staff / etc which gives it its main “mage” feel from a distance.
      Personally I wish they had longbow and not hammer for end of dragons, but again, I think they just want to give the class versatility. You can mix match skills to keep them ranged at least
