I think you just unknowingly helped me out by convincing me to buy a quick release adaptor instead of any Moza steering wheel. I'm shopping for my future setup and so far it's seems like I'm going for a Moza R9 base, quick release adaptor and the handbrake (maybe), a Fanatec h-shifter and Sim Jack pro pedals if I can't find anything else more interesting to me or the price range I'm willing to spend. Instead of a Moza steering wheel or custom steering wheel plate, I'll buy the necessary things to make a custom button box attached to the h-shifter and tinker turn signal and wiper levers to probably have more fonctions then needed for any driving/racing games I want to play. Big thanks man!!!!
To Everyone who says this doesnt work.. IT DOES. I bought some random wheel adapter off amazon that looked just like his; followed the video step by step and it works finally. NGL it didnt work at first for me i played with the deep dish wheel for about two weeks without the buttons from the ES wheel, but I had some time to try and look at it again its all about the angle and pos of the piece over the screw holes.. Get that right drop the screws in and ur goldn ponyboy xD. Mainly i had to get this to work for my gf the 6spd H w/ Clutch is too much for her but shes learning LoL. This saved me some money though I was gonna buy the Aftermarket wheel that fits over the buttons or get another adapter piece but its DOABLE
I have a question, can you just install the wheel and skip the whole button box? Do you just control stuff with keyboard then or will there be conflicts inside the game? And also, if I do buy the QR from moza, will the button box not get in the way for most third party wheels? I mean it's nice with the buttons but it seems like the wheel need to be perfect for it to not cover over buttons or what do you think? Nice video, very interesting and I learnt a lot. I'm about to buy my first rig and weighing back and forth between R5 bundle (with not great pedals) to R9 and mixing and matching stuff myself. What is your opinion on R5, is it enough power or will I get bored of it fast in your opinion? Thanks for your help.
Can I take the electronics out of the quick release and directly mount a 6x70mm wheel to it? If so, do I not have to buy a separate d1 spec quick release?
Can you screw a omp wheel directly to the quick release with the adapter, but without the pedal shifters and like the plastic thing with the buttons on?
You can simply use any car wheel with any quick release compatible (70mm holes distance), like the NRG ones. Just screw the wheel directly to thee quick release.
Yes you can remove them. If you remove the whole steering assembly, there are 2 screws holding the paddles in place. You remove the screws and they slide out. As for longer ones, I'm not too sure.
Bro same 🤦♂️ I’m doing it right now and even if we can get the bolts thru, there’s like no thread sticking out the other side for the quick release. This guys a muppet who wasted my time and money
It's actually the gt light foldable that I have modified. I am currently using the r5 on it and it holds it perfect I notice less flex with the r5 than with the g29. Only mod I've done is add the seat
I just ordered my r5 and bigger wheel I know I'm going to need. I had a g920 and hated it. I put a bigger wheel on it but it was just worse. How is the ffb after the bigger wheel?
This adapter can work. I just searhed on Google and bought cheapest one made from aluminum i could. You can get them 3d printed, but I strongly recommend getting one made from. Aluminum a.co/d/d9TuzkD
They are. I dont use the shifter paddles too often though so it doesn't really seem to impact me as much. I did switch back to the nrg wheel. I like the feel of the real leather compared to the deep dish vinyl material. Using nrg brings paddles alot closer
@@hdycreator I actually wouldn't mind spending the 60 bucks for the moza qr. However, I do mind paying an extra 25 on top of that just for shipping cost. May as well buy the nrg one at that point.
@@MarlySchimitz do you know of any of the cheap aftermarket options that are guaranteed to fit as advertised? I'm currently in the market for one but I only want to spend between 30-40 bucks. I've seen plenty in that price range on ebay, but buying one seems like a coin flip if the manufacturer actually made it to correct spec or not. I've seen tons of online remarks noting that they bought aftermarket on ebay and it was too small, and/or the bearings weren't correctly placed
I am using the quick release that came with the Moza ES Wheel. That's why I still needed the adapter. If I used the one for 3rd party it would bolt directly to wheel

I love your psychadelic/enlightenment sleeve.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot!!!. Really easy upgrade to a proper diameter wheel
That’s brilliant man!

Nice job. Thx for the video. I just may do this. I would like a larger wheel, light as possible.

Can I take off the qr and fit a wheel straight onto the qr, with 6 x 70mm drilling pattern ?
Like without the button box
You can remove the qr and direct connect wheel to it. I still have to use the adapter because the stock bolt pattern is smaller than my wheels
what adapter i need? how muck mm to 70mm?@@hdycreator
Where is a link to the adapter or even a description?
Thank you for showing us this. Do you know if it's possible to unscrew/remove the paddle shifters, so that we can attach some longer ones?
Yes you can remove them. If you remove the whole steering assembly, there are 2 screws holding the paddles in place. You remove the screws and they slide out. As for longer ones, I'm not too sure.
I’ve been trying to follow this video, I even bought the exact same hub adapter, but I can’t get the screws to thread like at 3:35

adapter link or dimensions to 3d print?
is that nrg wheel 300 mm? if not, what 300 mm affordable wheel do you recommend? trying to keep cost down as much as possible. thanks
I believe it is 300mm. You can find cheap wheels on ebay for 30-40 bucks. That's where I bought my deep dish wheel
do fanatec wheel also work on the moza base? or just the other way around
I wanna know that too
how many mm is the adapter?
Were I find the adapter
is that a playseat challenge you are using? if yes would you say a r9 is usable on it without any reinforcements yet?
It's actually the gt light foldable that I have modified. I am currently using the r5 on it and it holds it perfect I notice less flex with the r5 than with the g29. Only mod I've done is add the seat
I have a short showing the g29 bouncing alot, and my most recent video shows how little the r5 flexes the rig
I just ordered my r5 and bigger wheel I know I'm going to need. I had a g920 and hated it. I put a bigger wheel on it but it was just worse. How is the ffb after the bigger wheel?
For me ffb is great. I have no issues with it!
have support Ferrari 250 GTO Wheel ?
What size quick release did the es wheel came with. Surely its not 70mm
It's d1spec size, so it's actually the normal size qr. I have a d1 spec nrg qr and they are the same size
can you link the mod you used to mount the wheel, the black ring?

be careful as the one linked, is "universal" but will have your wheel misaligned if your wheel bolt pattern is rotated
Looks like the shifting paddles are to far away now
They are. I dont use the shifter paddles too often though so it doesn't really seem to impact me as much. I did switch back to the nrg wheel. I like the feel of the real leather compared to the deep dish vinyl material. Using nrg brings paddles alot closer
Do I have to add the buttons or can I just get a custom wheel and an quick release
You can do just a wheel and quick release! No buttons nessesary
Why did you buy the quick release from moza, that way you don't have to dismantle the whole thing
I'm poor people. Spending 60 bucks on a quick release was out of the question. Doing it this way I retain buttons also
@@hdycreator get other aftermarket ones.. they are like $20

I don't see what's stopping you from doing it. The holes will line up to mount it
