Broner used to fight a completely different style before he saw Floyd Mayweather and he changed to a more defensive style which he doesn't have that same punch awareness that Mayweather does. Gotta remember even Mayweather struggled with Maidana a bit and was cut by him for the first time ever.

True. "Tragic" is word that should be used when boxers end up in a wheelchair with brain damage, or when they die in the ring or end up getting shot and killed in the street or when they get paralyzed from a motorcycle accident. Broner story is more sad than "tragic."

Great video. Broner in his prime was definitely my favorite fighter behind Floyd, but Broner’s issue was that he had too many holes in his game that he didn’t care to fix. i remember the good old days when people used to say AB will be the next floyd mayweather, its sad that he didnt stay discipline and didnt train as hard as he should'v, i still love him and i wanna see him become champion again one day.
He would of never been the next Floyd, not even if he trained hard. His philly shell was poor. He was miles away from even being close to Floyd. Broner just wasn’t that good when he stepped up.
Couple his fast track division hoping with lack of discipline (and matchmaking) you have a problem. Wasn’t his “ego” He campaigned at 130, moved up to 135 to take a strap, defended it once. Immediately jumped to 147 to take Paulie's strap. He fought Maidana the very next fight. Dropped down to 140 for a couple fights and then moved back up to fight Porter. Styles make fights and he just wasn't the same at '47 but that's where the big fights were at.
Yes. I always thought that. I was surprised when he jumped up two weight classes to fight at 147. I thought then it was too fast and he was rushing his career to earn more money and exposure. He did get exposure just not in the way he hoped for.
Duran had like 6 tune up fights at 140 and 47 before HR fought leonard. Broner was a G and jumped 2 weight classes without even a single tuneup and fought toe to toe with Maidana who outweighed him by a whopping 17 pounds on fight night. NEVER GOT ANY RESPECT FOR IT. Boxing fans are jokes and so is this video
It should be noted that the Maidana Broner faced was not the same one that struggled with Ortiz and lost to Kahn, this was after training with R.Garcia. He had all the toughness of old, plus a little more technical proficiency. But yes, something switched off in Broner after that fight.
I think his biggest problem was not bringing in new people to his camp. I think he got as far as his raw potential would take him but he could never break through as a superstar because he didn’t put in the extra work and evolve. Floyd told him a while ago that he needs better footwork and he never improved. 2023 Broner still fights the same way he did in 2013. He also never brought in new coaches to help him develop. I get trying to stay loyal to the guys that got you there but if they aren’t pro level coaches you have to make a change. At the top level of boxing it takes more than just getting in shape for your fights. You must commit and stay in shape to maximize your physical ability. Floyd understood this better than most.

He was the whole package. Had everything from speed to power. However, he made the big mistake of drastically changing his style in order to mimic Mayweather's and that ruined him. An experienced fighter like him should've known how difficult the philly shell guard is to execute let alone master. Also, he was more interested in looking tough and would make big errors in defense. His cockiness wasn't just on the surface like Ali or Mayweather but also in his mind and that made him commit even bigger mistakes in defense. For some reason, he was really fascinated by Mayweather's insane ability to win rounds despite minimal volume and in trying to mimic that as well, made the worst possible alteration to his style. Another very overlooked aspect of Broner's downfall is that his power didn't essentially carry over to Welterweight and putting on more muscle only made him slower.

@Black Boy King TV manny was much smaller than floyd naturally starting his career at light flyweight compared to floyd at super feather. A lot of floyds advantages over pacquiao were reach and size. Hagler easily beat Duran but Duran was still the much better fighter pound for pound. There both great but I think pacquiao just takes it for me
@Black Boy King TV This sounds a bit biased saying that "there is no argument". Pacquiao has a VERY strong argument for goat status. Being undefeated has very little to do with whether or not someone is the greatest. That mentality is toxic to the boxing community. These "Floyd haters" that you're referring to usually acknowledge Floyd's skills, however he prioritized money and reward over asserting his greatness and legendary status. Both Pacquiao & Floyd are great in their own ways. Oh by the way, that Marquez fight you speak of Pacquiao fought him 4x and was actually winning the fight before the KO. Styles make fights and Floyd & Marquez are both counterpunchers. Thats an easy W for Floyd.
@Black Boy King TV let’s talk facts then. Did Floyd win across 8 weight divisions? Capture 5 lineal titles? Win fighter of the decade? Hold championships in 4 different decades? I’ll wait.
I know a couple of fighters who are not really talented and do not have the tools to make it big. But still they live inside the gym, keep getting their faces busted, because it is at the end of the day a paying job. They aint got much else. So to be blessed with a talent like that and an opportunity to really make serious money out of it is something Broner surely took forgotten. I mean just imagine how many fighters would be willing to trade places with him. They would probably stay disciplined, and not get in trouble because they dont wanna lose what they got.
It wasn't ego that destroyed his career. He just wasn't that good. He had a better career because of his ego. At least he got eyes to pay attention for a while and I'm sure his payouts were bigger than other mid boxers at his same skill level.
I actually have met Broner's god-uncle. It was quite mind blowing, but for what it is. his god-uncle told me Broner won't change his style of boxing even if he knows he's losing. its something that troubles everyone around Broner, but Broner will do what he wants to do. breaking his ties with Mayweather was too weird since Broner basically attempted to copy Mayweather's defensive fight style even though Broner was still in his prime as an athlete. I don't see Broner turning his career around since it's a little too late imo. the current top fighters in the welterweight class is great despite the top two fighters not coming to an agreement to fight each other. I see Broner more as a journeyman for boxing since he'll keep on fighting until he calls it a career. plus he's nowhere near as of a level of competition to fight the top welterweight fighters like Crawford, Spence, and etc.
I mean... It just depends on how you view his career... He did a good job promoting fights through speech that most others would not use, which is why his losses were so satisfying for so many. No one knocked him out, and very few knocked him down. So there are positives he can take from his career, it just so happens that his mouth was a bit too reckless for his skills.
This is what happens to many people with talent. They think that their talent will carry them and that they only have to work half as hard as others. But it's simply not true, those with talent have to work many times harder than everyone else if they want to really succeed. Talent is nothing without effort.
Finished his amateur career having 319 fights under his belt, with a record of 300 wins, 19 losses. A three weight world champion., Still only 33. Dont live your life by others expectations. The only thing here sad and tragic, is this video.
Trashtalking excessively feels like a compensation for your lack of confidence in your own skills. You need to attempt to diminish your opponents psychologically in order to truly win, meaning you know in your heart you can't win in a true 1v1.
Success starts within. You can't have success without good character. Well you can have success but it wont be good success or you wont keep that success long term
He lost his Way because he took challenges No one could beat him at 135 and 140 and he wanted to try to win something good. I commend him for never ducking anyone. He’s the JR Smith of Boxing Literally has More skills than everyone but lacks discipline
One thing I have to disagree with you about is that Broner ever showed good defense. He planted his feet in concrete and refused to move. He rocked the shell defense but lacked any movement whatsoever. That’s why power punchers and pressure guys eat him for lunch, he’s a still target. Other than that, awesome video 👍🏾.
This isn’t a sad or tragic story. He is a 4 division champion. He made it to the top, unfortunately he couldn’t stay at the top. Nothing wrong with that. Outside of the ring is a different story!!
I dont know much about boxing except the famous names and the terminology a bit.. Even i can tell that no one can remain unchanged for the worse after that maidana fight
i never got the narrative of calling him a wasted talent .ofc he didn’t become the huge expectation of being the next floyd but he was still a 4 weight champion something only legends have been able to do,i agree he could have been better but to call him a “wasted talent” is nothing slight of an exaggeration
In the words of the new revamped AB "13 dollars looks good on him now don't it "and to all of those who surely counted him out watch this man on his comeback
great mini documentary but what most don't realize is adrien's sad downfall really happened because he was cursing with a disrespectful mock prayer to christ the king just before his fight with maidana then got destroyed.. always be respectful & be careful what you say..
AB has so many quotables that I use on a daily basis it's ridiculous. I was really looking forward to his most recent fight. Maybe 2023 will be his year.
The man literally was talented, just never took boxing serious and really never let his hands go as much. Don’t forget; AB dropped Porter. Wasted talent ; but when you come from poverty and been to jail ; I guess is a success no matter how you look at it.
The pelvic thrust from Maidana really fucked with his balance. He was just now getting the hang of relearning english after Maidana taught him spanish.
It wasn’t only his ego. He had a shit team who didn’t do better showing him the way and guiding him to better choices. He had raw natural talent.
Or maybe he just got exposed after he started fighting ranked opponents.

@Black Boy King TV let’s talk facts then. Did Floyd win across 8 weight divisions? Capture 5 lineal titles? Win fighter of the decade? Hold championships in 4 different decades? I’ll wait.
Awesome vid bro thanks heaps ❤
I see Broner more as a journeyman for boxing since he'll keep on fighting until he calls it a career. plus he's nowhere near as of a level of competition to fight the top welterweight fighters like Crawford, Spence, and etc.
bro you ain’t meet his god uncle wtf is that 😂
I bet Adrien's an alcoholic now
Yoo! I think it'd be perfect for Broner to fight one of the Paul brothers.
I said team same thing. I'd think he'd whoop JP. He's an actual former cha.p in boxing and is not that far removed from the sport.
I love this channel 💪🏾
I mean... It just depends on how you view his career... He did a good job promoting fights through speech that most others would not use, which is why his losses were so satisfying for so many. No one knocked him out, and very few knocked him down. So there are positives he can take from his career, it just so happens that his mouth was a bit too reckless for his skills.
The fact that he got to that level with sheer talent is kind of amusing tho. If he wasn't playing too hard, he will probably a top boxer till now.
he was talented and still funny af 🤣
Maidana (or the fight with Broner specifically) need a video on its own
Man he ain’t even retired and they making the tragedy videos on him
This isn't sad and tragic, when you are arrogant and narssicistic, it's good to see people like this humbled.
100%
This is what happens to many people with talent. They think that their talent will carry them and that they only have to work half as hard as others. But it's simply not true, those with talent have to work many times harder than everyone else if they want to really succeed. Talent is nothing without effort.
The fact that manny is your pfp makes this video kinda funny
Finished his amateur career having 319 fights under his belt, with a record of 300 wins, 19 losses.
A three weight world champion.,
Still only 33.
Dont live your life by others expectations.
The only thing here sad and tragic, is this video.
Can you do a video explaining the lineal championship and other titles in boxing
When fighting as a career, you must live like a monk, nothing else
💯🎲🎲
Good video Bro!
Damn I always knew that meme, but never knew the story behind it sad that's why as fighter words and ego don't matter in the ring
I was a lil teenager watching this fight geeked out of my mind 😩 literally was so disappointed lol but it also felt like a full circle moment of karma
Trashtalking excessively feels like a compensation for your lack of confidence in your own skills. You need to attempt to diminish your opponents psychologically in order to truly win, meaning you know in your heart you can't win in a true 1v1.
He wasn't wrong when he said that tmt wasn't promoting him because tmt doesn't even promote tank. Its just floyd taking the spotlight
Success starts within. You can't have success without good character.
Well you can have success but it wont be good success
or you wont keep that success long term
4,000 Like keep it up bro
This channel’s firrreee 🤝
This is a perfect example of young people having great talent and wasting it. Broner needs to get it together.
He lost his Way because he took challenges
No one could beat him at 135 and 140 and he wanted to try to win something good.
I commend him for never ducking anyone.
He’s the JR Smith of Boxing
Literally has More skills than everyone but lacks discipline
One thing I have to disagree with you about is that Broner ever showed good defense. He planted his feet in concrete and refused to move. He rocked the shell defense but lacked any movement whatsoever. That’s why power punchers and pressure guys eat him for lunch, he’s a still target. Other than that, awesome video 👍🏾.
AB stands for always bitchin
Never heard of him before 5 minutes ago when I saw highlights of his first loss
Nice video
In the words of Count Dooku: Twice the pride, double the fall.
Have you heard the Tragedy of Adrian Broner the Meme, I thought not, its not something the WBA will tell you its an Internet Legend
0:30 I finally know where the meme comes from 🤣😂🤣
Good video
34-wins 4-losses 24-KOs is a pretty good career
To put it into perspective as a MMA fan I only heard of Adrian broner from a "when trash talking goes wrong" video.
This isn’t a sad or tragic story. He is a 4 division champion. He made it to the top, unfortunately he couldn’t stay at the top. Nothing wrong with that. Outside of the ring is a different story!!
Can you do a video on Amir Khan?
That press conference with Broner and Malignaggi is STILL the undisputed funniest sh*t I've ever seen in boxing 🤣
I've always heard good and bad about Broner, excited to watch
I dont know much about boxing except the famous names and the terminology a bit..
Even i can tell that no one can remain unchanged for the worse after that maidana fight
"Have You heard about the Tragedy of Adrian Broner, I thought not its not something the WBA will tell you"
That saying about hard work beats talent is on the bathroom wall of my gym lol nice
Alright this is the 4th really good video I've seen from you, subscribed.
At least he tried fighting everyone unlike fighters who are just fighting for fame rather than pride.
i never got the narrative of calling him a wasted talent .ofc he didn’t become the huge expectation of being the next floyd but he was still a 4 weight champion something only legends have been able to do,i agree he could have been better but to call him a “wasted talent” is nothing slight of an exaggeration
he also had a trash ass training team
In the words of the new revamped AB "13 dollars looks good on him now don't it "and to all of those who surely counted him out watch this man on his comeback
great mini documentary but what most don't realize is adrien's sad downfall really happened because he was cursing with a disrespectful mock prayer to christ the king just before his fight with maidana then got destroyed.. always be respectful & be careful what you say..
What’s so sad about him; he’s a multiple division title it’s fought in some high profile fights and made a lot of money.
AB has so many quotables that I use on a daily basis it's ridiculous. I was really looking forward to his most recent fight. Maybe 2023 will be his year.
Make more vids about this
*The Paulie Fight Was A Clear Warning ⚠️*
*And Then It Was Maidana That Ended It*
*I Really Wanted To See Him Danny Garcia*
The man literally was talented, just never took boxing serious and really never let his hands go as much. Don’t forget; AB dropped Porter. Wasted talent ; but when you come from poverty and been to jail ; I guess is a success no matter how you look at it.
He's talented. I really dislike showboating crap talkers, but he was a great fighter.
The picture got me weak af
Don't forget he's 3-3-1 in his last seven, but he'd be 7-0 against you
The pelvic thrust from Maidana really fucked with his balance. He was just now getting the hang of relearning english after Maidana taught him spanish.
People forget at one point Broner was a legit force and had a nasty fast check left hook
Have you heard of the tragic tale of Darth Plagueis the wise? You wouldn't have, it's a kickboxer's tale.
