Best 0-60 with stock 275 Pirelli AS’s was 4.0 on my 2020 Stock ScatPack Challenger, 91 Octane, in like 100 degree temps (Super Warm tires), 3.8 with Nitto 275 DRs, 3.6 with 305 Mickey DRs, launching at 1500 RPMs in Custom mode. 245s are basically a joke for the 6.4 Hemi, but Stellantis would rather you tear up the tires than Drivetrain I suspect.

Will eventually add three 275/40R20s all around.
I have a 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit with the v8 and AWD when it it runs constant 4.8 0-60. I have a video of it on my profile, the traction makes a insane difference. I’ve been toe to toe with scat packs up to 65ishmph for that reason
Ah RacerX I adore your videos man! I own the 6.4 Scat Challenger and it is Torquie as hell. The best I've gotten 0-60 is 4.2 on a backroad. I am about to upgrade to 275s and more if you believe it's best. She ran 11.7 at the drag the other day.
The tires definitely made the difference. And well said with 245's not belonging on the scat. Used to own an R/T and was still fun to drive. That blue color looked good.
I've had both, a 2018 challenger rt 5.7 and currently a 2021 challenger 6.4 scat pack. The best 0-60 i had for the 5.7L with stock 245 eagle rs1 tires was 5.1s. So far my best in the scat pack has been 4.5s with oem offered 275 pirelli pzero tires of the dynamics package. So far that is, on just a few tries on dusty Arizona back roads where off the line traction has been an issue for sure. Have not tried any prepped surfaces yet.
In my 20 Sinamon Charger Scat best was 4.3 on the stock 245 Goodyears. I've since changed to 275 Michelin AS4's but have not tried to beat the previous time. Once it warms up I might.
Always enjoy your comparison videos, exactly what you said 245's should not be on the scat pack, to much motor for those really small tires. Really great buddy, thanks.
Biggest reason I got my rt was the price tag. My car was cheaper than scats with less options. My car isn’t fully optioned out, but there were scats with less options, and arguably not as nice, that were 10,000 dollars more expensive.
surprised you didn't use the on board launch control for more consistent runs. i completely agree with your assessment. both cars are limited by the 245 tires. - I get a 3.2 second 0-60 with bicycle tires, in the snow, uphill, at idle..... yep. i said it. i hope you got a chuckle. :)
Launch control doesn't work good. It requires 1200 rpm minimum with wot. Smoke show with street tires. Also it's flaky to use because it shuts off if you don't follow the exact sequence. Wouldn't trust it the strip.
@@joesmith-rm7px launch control shuts off if you wait too long before launching. that would be my only criticism. if you're using launch control and you still get a smoke show, you're doing it wrong. follow instructions. when done correctly, the launch control utilizes traction control and stability control, regardless of which drive mode you're in. just grabs and goes. trying holding both gas and brake for a few seconds before releasing the brake.
This went exactly as I expected. I had a couple races with my RT next to a SP on the streets (no traffic around) and both guys were surprised and kept asking me what I did to my car and I was still running the shitty 245s. Of course after 60 they both left my ass terribly as that's when that 115 hp bump disrespectfully leaves the 5.7 😂. I'm curious to see what my 275s do on the clock but unfortunately its raining this weekend so I'll wait n see.
My buddy got an RT a week before I got my widebody scat. We run equally up to around 60 so you are accurate, after that it is a noticeable difference. On most runs on the street 0-60 is all we can really do so they are pretty much equal, just like the widebody look. He's upgrading to a widebody scat also soon.
@@tiredone8151 you can absolutely keep up [ few cars behind but not getting dusted ] with good bolt ons and a good tune. you wont beat a 392 but you'll be able to keep up for the most part
Not to surprising dodge understates the rt power, and overstates the scat packs so they can convince more people to pay for that extra trim model. My challenger puts out 395-400 horspower consistently, my buddy's scat puts out 470-475, so the difference in power is closer to 65-70 horspower. That extra torque is noticeable with some larger tires but in the end its not really enough to justify the increase in cost for most people. Plus, the 5.7 hemi has a special place in my heart for being around for so long.
This blows my mind! I thought I was missing out on 0 to 60 times since buying my RT. I constantly get 5.2 to 5.3. Now you are telling me I'm matching a scat pack 0-60???!!! So much power doesn't matter when you can't get grip. WOW.
My 2020 scat pack Widebody with the 305’s got consistent 4.2-4.3. It had the summer tires on it not the all seasons. The 6.4 definitely needs the wider tires.
2019 5.7 shaker here in ohio. I have a 4.5 as my best 0 to 60. 275s on 20x9 wheels. Had a little luggage in the trunk and a empty covid highway at 3 am. Last year. Fractions of a second tho. I question the accuracy of my in car timer. Lol still fun tryin to best your own runs.
Best I got in my "14 Challenger RT Classic was 4.9 vs 4.8 in my "15 Scat Pack I traded it in on but the Scat Pack has a manual tranny so that can be expected, but the Scat Pack sure does suck you back in the seat compared to the R/T. Like I heard someone say before the RT will give you a big grin but the Scat Pack gives you a grin from ear to ear!!!! LOL!!
I ended up with a 2023 Charger R/T Blacktop. Shes fast enough for me, but I’d love to test drive a Scat to feel the difference. The stock R/T exhaust sounds damn good, too! Love to drive it!
I’ve got my RT down to a 4.9 (as ideal conditions as could be. 70 degree weather, good pavement etc). That was with 245s. Now that I have 275s, I want to see if traction will help or if the added weight hurt me.
Really enjoyable video I got GT last year with hemi orange paccage and Im not regreting to buy R/T . My fastest from 0 to 60 was 5.7 !!! it has feel for muscle car but without rumble :(
Honestly it’s more then tire size it’s also the differential, the scatpack has a 3.09 while the RT has the 2.62 in my observations I would say the 3.09 is the best for both cars. So what I’m trying to say here is 2.62 is great for gripping the road and less slip while the the 3.09 will get you to top speed the quickest . It’s funny that they reached the same 0-60 times
What are your thoughts on staggered tires? I have 2021 Scat Challenger, Dynamics. Grew up in the 70’s I want my car to be old school. Thoughts on 305’s on the back?
245 is such an anemic tire - went up to 295 on mine with 255 fronts and it's helped a lot on traction as I have been building my Challenger out over the past few years.
Basically can’t go wrong with either based on your “priority” 🤷♂️ I have an ‘21 RT Charger and love the crap out of that car. It does exactly what I need it to do. Nothing more, nothing less.
My 2010 Chrysler 300s 5.7 the first gen body style with a 93 octane tune and transmission tune does 5.1 0 to 60. I'm running 255/45/20 in rear. And it still spins like the scat pack.
Ok got a question here. ( I live in the North East & get snow in the winter etc ) As U are talking about this with these tires modifications Ur suggesting. Would changing all the tires to either 275-305 setup. Would that help with the traction control so Ur not losing control of your Challenger-Charger especially in different weather climates? Esp since U normally just mention to only change the back wheels to 305-310 ( with a spacer so Ur tires don't wear out on a certain spot so U have to change them more often) setups depending on car U have to reduce this spin & tail drifting out of control etc
My best in my 1320 is only 4.6 with all seasons on it. I couldn't get below 5 with the stock drag radials. I don't know if it's the weight since I got it completely loaded or mostly traction? I have been just foot braking it and haven't figured out the launch control yet, but I thought it would do better.
I had a challenger scat pack with nothing but stalk wheels 245s and I would easily run 4.0 and my best ever was a 3.9 ran 11.27 quarter miles and would barley loose to hellcats and before anyone asks it only had a k and 𝘕 cold air intake and a full straight pipe resonator/cat/mid deleted ran extremely rich. I would run it in custom controls and put everything to track except traction I would change that to street(seemed to decrease time)Maybe could have been a factory jewel as well on top of it all but it was a joy to drive and hell of a lot of fun to destroy 5.0s daily. Now I drive a 5.7L Chrysler 300c but soon will get another scat only this time wide body hope it is as fast as my last one…. Lol prolly not.
We want what we want. They all look alike and they all look great. 1/2 second does not a champion make, in my opinion. I'm not racing anyone at the risk of losing my license. Folks see the Scat Pack logo, instant respect. How much gooseing can you do before John Law steps in?
That’s why I went with the rt! I said I’m not a racer I’m a stunner lol so I don’t need all that speed the only thing I really like about the scat is the WB option
Hey there Gears. I'm in the valley of decisions. Do I Pro Charge my modified Jeep Wk2 5.7 or go with the 270 Comp package. Both come out to the same price. Hmmmm?

?? What do You recommend for the 2022 Dodge Charger , tire sizes and what tires , what’s best for the rear and what’s best for the front . Thanks in advance
So go with the RT for everyday driver and have just as much fun as the Scatpack. I don't race people and the speed limit in most states is 70mph. Good to know, good to know. Thanks for this video!
Nice. For the next one, I'd be really interested to see a Charger or Challenger vs the Durango with the same engines as well. Similar power, but 4wd traction vs lighter weight.
There's a big difference between the narrow tired Scatpack and the Widebody. I know. I had a narrow tired Challenger now a widebody. No comparison. Not just the tires but the ride as well.
Would be interested to see what your run would be using launch control. The best I ran in my 2016 RT road and track was 4.8 but that had MUCH better gears than the 2017+ RTs. I had 3.07s. My scat can get about that on a pretty regular basis but if you launch it too hard like you said it’s all over.
@@EdwinRosasFoo it certainly is not easy and the conditions need to be exactly right. Seeing as though your best is 5.6 seconds I am guessing you are in a warmer climate or you get too much wheel spin. But the warmer and less dense the air is the less power you will have. I could run 4.8 in 40 degree dense air but in the summer when it’s 85-90 degrees I might get between 5.4 - 5.6 seconds
Luckily for me, best 0-60 times is the last thing I'd buy and drive a scat pack for, but I'd still do it a bit !! Also, putting sticky, low profile tires do help a lot for 0-60 and all around driving :):) Funny, people claiming 3.1 in the winter...LOL🙂🙂
Yea those tires make world difference for the scat pack. My first car 2015 Challenger 5.7 245/20 , did 0-60 in 4.9 if everything lines up perfectly. On (August 4 )Friday I purchased the Challenger 1320 as we know has the 275s did 4.1 not even trying. I took it down an old airfield in Chesapeake it was running sub 4s almost everytime. The best I did was a 3.7 with all the stars lining. Drag strip I might could get a 3.5,. The quarter mile I was thoroughly impressed mid 11s consistently. Where as my 2015 Challenger pre stages and supercharged ran in the 13 s. (Wanna say 13.7 was it's best I don't remember this was years ago.)
The 5.7 in Charger is underrated. The same engine in a Ram pickup is rated at 395hp. Dodge calls the Charger R/T "370" so it looks like a bigger step up to the Scat Pack.
Scatpack is underrated to. Quite a few people have dyno'd them and they actually make more power than advertised. Some have seem them as high as 505 crank horsepower.

Thank you. Very fun content.
I have a 5.7 R/T. I put it in sport mode and put traction in regular mode then I put launch control at 1500 RPM. With this I ran a 4.7 0-60 and. 13.0 1/4 mile. It was 35 degrees outside.
Really enjoyed that video! I have a 2016 Challenger RT with a 6-speed manual with the 275s on back, best time i got so far is 5.5 sec, the six-speed is not as consistent as the automatic but I think I can get at least 5.3 with more practice
For sure.. it’s always more difficult with a manual
FrankieD R/T out of Germany here brother, this is why I’m happy with my R/T plus! Same results!!! Love your content. Thanks for being MOPAR even though you went dark side with a FORD.🤨
Good video and good comparison. First thing I did other than mid muffler delete was better tires.
Been following your channel for a little while. Happy to say I finally made the switch to mopar. Sold my 2007 mustang and bought a 2012 charger srt8 superbee in stinger yellow 🐝
Haha and he did exactly opposite, he sold his Mopar and purchased a Fraud Mustang :)
I love my r/t. Perfect daily driver and quick from the dig. All I did was the pedal box, hellcat lower box/k&n filter, billet oil cc and a mmd/5" tips. An absolute blast to drive and LOUD. Louder than my friends hell cat which is crazy right? Great video btw!

Awesome runs!
I could of gotten a charger at least a RT Plus I decided to wait a year or two to finally get one, the reason was gas prices and I’m about to finish with college and I didn’t want to take on a bigger loan so I went with a Malibu which is great for gas and is helping me build credit I plan on giving it to my younger brother till I buy myself a charger, I
would get a RT Plus or even bite the bullet and get a scatpack. Great video comparing both trim levels!
Love your videos! Just bought a 2022 Challenger Scat Pack. Retired Disabled Army Vet living in Humble, TX. About to turn 65 in April. I truly love my car. I would love to come visit and meet with you. Want to do some cosmetic additions to my car (paint brake calipers red, tint windows, and do highlights inside). Will eventually add three 275/40R20s all around.
Another great vid! Love your tests and appreciate how you feature attainable cars and daily driver specs as well. Thanks!
I have a 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit with the v8 and AWD when it it runs constant 4.8 0-60. I have a video of it on my profile, the traction makes a insane difference. I’ve been toe to toe with scat packs up to 65ishmph for that reason
Same here I also have videos of me in my pursuit neck at neck with scat packs
Ah RacerX I adore your videos man! I own the 6.4 Scat Challenger and it is Torquie as hell. The best I've gotten 0-60 is 4.2 on a backroad. I am about to upgrade to 275s and more if you believe it's best. She ran 11.7 at the drag the other day.
4.2 on stock 245s? I get 4.2 in my mustang and i have 305s on the back
I'm a manual BTW
@@ryandono5721 Yes, that's what the dash says anyways. At the drag strip my best time was 4.7.
The tires definitely made the difference. And well said with 245's not belonging on the scat. Used to own an R/T and was still fun to drive. That blue color looked good.
Yes the tires were the equalizer for sure
Wow didn’t expect to see them get the same time, racer x can launch these cars good 👍
I've had both, a 2018 challenger rt 5.7 and currently a 2021 challenger 6.4 scat pack.
Hell yeah. Be safe!
Really great buddy, thanks.
i have a 2021 daytona charger 392. upgraded to 305 tires and managed to pull of a 4.2 second 0-60. very satisfied with those results
I ran 3.2 0-60 on my CBR1000 everyday.....hard to believe any car doing that other than a dang Tesler
🤠You are representing America USA 😆Mopar land for all😎 racer X you know how to ,get R done🏆
Headers and a tune changes that
My buddy got an RT a week before I got my widebody scat. We run equally up to around 60 so you are accurate, after that it is a noticeable difference. On most runs on the street 0-60 is all we can really do so they are pretty much equal, just like the widebody look. He's upgrading to a widebody scat also soon.
Shannon ...No it does not.
5.7 needs H/C or forced induction to keep up.
@@tiredone8151 you can absolutely keep up [ few cars behind but not getting dusted ] with good bolt ons and a good tune. you wont beat a 392 but you'll be able to keep up for the most part
Yea 60 to 100 is when you see the difference
Not to surprising dodge understates the rt power, and overstates the scat packs so they can convince more people to pay for that extra trim model. My challenger puts out 395-400 horspower consistently, my buddy's scat puts out 470-475, so the difference in power is closer to 65-70 horspower. That extra torque is noticeable with some larger tires but in the end its not really enough to justify the increase in cost for most people. Plus, the 5.7 hemi has a special place in my heart for being around for so long.
These numbers are BS
I had the Eagle RSA on my 5.7 R/T from the dealer and now have the BFG. The BFG grabs so much better.
Any BADYEAR Eagle RSA's are JUNK.
My 08 350 does 0-60 in 5. Cars are definitely getting slower. Love the content been following you for a couple of weeks.
Really enjoyed this one.
This blows my mind! I thought I was missing out on 0 to 60 times since buying my RT. I constantly get 5.2 to 5.3. Now you are telling me I'm matching a scat pack 0-60???!!! So much power doesn't matter when you can't get grip. WOW.
I had 275 on my Scat Pack and my 0-60 is like a 4.8 or 4.9 that is on a regular but I have gotten it lower than that
Scat will still blow the rt away after 60 mph
@@bigpapi9223 All that matters is the dig
@@P_lump what about 275s on a RT. Think that will help lower the 0 to 60 time ?
God damn, @ Pale Midget, you a straight lop 😂 Imagine spending all your time on CZcams to respond to troll 👿. Sheesh
I’ve gotten 4.3 with my Scat. But I also have a widebody and 305s. That makes a HUGE difference for sure
I got 3.3 in track mode 6 speed manual widebody mid delete flat surface very lil wheel spin
Best so far is a 4.5 on 275’s 0-60. Too much torque, lights up the rear end. Maybe this summer with warmer temps I can hook up better.
yeah its all about traction....performance plus handling group in my 5.7 Rt with 275s....4.5 my best time completely stock
I just switched to 275s on my RT plus. Gonna test out the 0 to 60 now to see if it’s any better then with the 245 tires
had both, so right about the torque
Best I got in my "14 Challenger RT Classic was 4.9 vs 4.8 in my "15 Scat Pack I traded it in on but the Scat Pack has a manual tranny so that can be expected, but the Scat Pack sure does suck you back in the seat compared to the R/T. Like I heard someone say before the RT will give you a big grin but the Scat Pack gives you a grin from ear to ear!!!! LOL!!
I have a 21 Charger Scat Pack WIDEBODY. Best time I can get is 4.7. It mainly is 5.2.
I ended up with a 2023 Charger R/T Blacktop. Shes fast enough for me, but I’d love to test drive a Scat to feel the difference. The stock R/T exhaust sounds damn good, too! Love to drive it!
I just bought a Granite 2022 RT Blacktop. I pick it up at 10 am tomorrow. I’m psyched!!!
I’ve got my RT down to a 4.9 (as ideal conditions as could be. 70 degree weather, good pavement etc). That was with 245s. Now that I have 275s, I want to see if traction will help or if the added weight hurt me.
did u get lower?
the added weight 30 mm of rubber each 😂😂😭😭😂😭😭
Really enjoyable video I got GT last year with hemi orange paccage and Im not regreting to buy R/T . My fastest from 0 to 60 was 5.7 !!! it has feel for muscle car but without rumble :(
i got a better value going with the RT plus, gas consumption is a big difference in the two cars, thanks great video.
The 2.62 is open diff though lol.
I’ve seen the RT does 4.8-4.9 with the 3.09
Great video bro
What are your thoughts on staggered tires? I have 2021 Scat Challenger, Dynamics. Grew up in the 70’s I want my car to be old school. Thoughts on 305’s on the back?
245 is such an anemic tire - went up to 295 on mine with 255 fronts and it's helped a lot on traction as I have been building my Challenger out over the past few years.
Basically can’t go wrong with either based on your “priority” 🤷♂️
I have an ‘21 RT Charger and love the crap out of that car.
( I live in the North East & get snow in the winter etc )
As U are talking about this with these tires modifications Ur suggesting.
The wife has a 2021 scat pac wide body challenger. The 305s do help but we still blow the tires off. We have found the 315s do make a big difference
Great vid as usual. But you should make an out of context racerx shirt that just says. “Sorry bout’ the sun.”
I know my Challenger Scat will take a 315 rear tire, that helps pit down a bigger footprint to launch from. Good video.
Hmmmm?
We have 2017 r/t Daytona, run hell cat wheels from American muscle and gmax rs 245/45 and she is a beast !! Shits and gets when my wife allows me to drive her car!! Lol, I have a tricked out 16 street glide, cams intake exhaust programmer so that's my toy
I have a 2021 Charger RT Daytona. It comes with a cold air intake and different wheels. I’ve run 0-60 many times on the street - my best was a 5.2.
I put 305s on the rear of my scatpack challenger. On hellcat wheels, they fit underneath. Huge difference in traction.
I have no problem hitting 4.3 ,4.2 In my challenger scat pack with 245’s!
same i got 245 pirelli p zeros rn and it hooks great
Damn crazy haha
Nice. For the next one, I'd be really interested to see a Charger or Challenger vs the Durango with the same engines as well. Similar power, but 4wd traction vs lighter weight.
The Scatpack has some beefy qualities and over superior in overall performance and aesthetics but for the $ and gratuity the RT is great.
Yeah man I agree, you need wide tires. My 392 WB challenger will do 0-60 in 4.1s
There's a big difference between the narrow tired Scatpack and the Widebody. I know. I had a narrow tired Challenger now a widebody. No comparison. Not just the tires but the ride as well.
got 335's on my viper, love the look
Good info....
i've done 4.9 with my 2017 R/T with really worn 245s. just got 275s but haven't fully put them to the test yet
How you be getting 4.8?? The best I get is 5.6
@@EdwinRosasFoo it certainly is not easy and the conditions need to be exactly right.
