- The Canon R50 was released early this year as a replacement for the Canon M50. I wish I knew these things about the Canon R50 before I bought this camera. It is a great camera; don't get me wrong - I love it, but these are some of my observations with this camera. Summing it up
If you’re looking to get into content creation on a budget then the R50 is a fabulous choice with the 24.2MP sensor, 4K no crop video, enhanced autofocus and interchangeable lenses. There are many settings and features that will allow you to grow into this camera and enhance your creativeness

Tamron and Sigma come out with lenses this year and there are manual lenses

Do you think a ZV-1M2 is a better choice? It seems like it. Especially if one doesn't want to buy lots of lenses and looking for a small form factor. I know it sounds crazy, but stick with me... iPhone 14 Pro w/ Insta360 Flow AI Gimbal. I find this works great, especially for recording on my desk or walking. It gives access to the rear camera & takes care of the focus. The image is really good enough these days, especially with good lighting and it's a very small set-up. Work flow is sooo much easier not having to transfer files.
I can see the time is coming fast for gimbals to be a thing of the past. The 14 pro max is great with stabilisation. Has the interchangeable lens camera met it’s match with the point and shoot or a smart phone?
Picked up the 16mm lens . Great Lens but loud when focusing . My Rode mic picks up the lens noise
Wow. You’d think Canon would have factored that in to the design

Hey hey G’day. Thanks for watching as I really appreciate it and thanks for reaching out. I love the Canon R50 and have the twin lens kit (actually I’m away shooting with it this week). I went for the R50 so I could spend some of my budget on EF lenses and adapt these with the EF to R adapter. The twin lens kit with the R50 gives you a little more reach too at 210mm. Went from a T7 to a r50 a couple weeks ago and already wish I just bought a Sony or kept my T7. The amount of lenses available to the EF and Sony mount are insane.
Yes - heaps of lenses for the EF mount as it has been since 1987 - that's 36 years (sheesh - I'm that old!) but those EF lenses can be adapted to the RF mount easily. I've just picked up the EFS 10-18mm and it's showing promise and just read that the 10-18mm has been announced for the RF mount albeit a tad slower. Sony do have an impressive product for sure. All lenses work perfectly fine if and only if you keep your firmware on 1.0
That’s interesting and good to know. Is that on the firmware for the camera or lenses?
@@cre8r61 just the body. As long as you are on firmware 1.0 you should be ok. I made a mistake of updating one of my R7s and now it doesn’t support the viltrox speedbooster but my other R7 that’s on firmware 1.0 is ok

They don't have good selection of r mounts and they don't allow third party....and all lenses are expensive....

What’s the m200 like? I have the m100 as well and love it. The efm mount has some fun lenses for sure

@cre8r61 passable 4k..... I like m200 for the form factor and it can fit in my jeans pocket...and also the selection of lenses....m50 is better.... m mount cameras are the best from what I have researched...I have ef m 22mm f2.0.. good even for lowlight
The convenience of the r50 out performs the minor improvements you’ve stating on your website. I suppose you had to say something just to get it to you tube.😊😊😊
