- This happened during Dreamhack Winter 2014 during Quater finals LDLC Vs Fnatic where LDLC took away 12 rounds in 1st half and 1st round of 2nd half then Fnatic came up with that boost and took away all the remaining rounds finishing match with 13-16 to fnatic.

John There were people that loved it and people that really hated it and called cheat. I understand why they had to forfeit, but .... it was just so geniously thought up, and was a fun comeback that made what I was watching entertaining. It was the first competitive CS:GO tournament I ever watched, so didn't have any favourites going into it.

it isnt illegal but its still pixel walking, which valve banned it after wards but not the teams fault for finding that out, they were trying to make the best out of overpass

+TheMaxColonel Wrong, pixel walking is strictly illegal in tournament rules long time before this. Fnatic knew what they were doing, they just hated LDLC so much for stealing their thunder and got really salty so they used this. (Pixel walking is where you stand on invisible pixels left be faulty code).
+TheMaxColonel It's a game breaking exploit. The map designer had no intention of allowing a peek spot there. It's obvious that's the case when one single boost spot has view to 3 critical positions that give away any strat the Ts pull.

@@angelacos To me don't hate the player , hate the game work with normal player in normal game however in every competition they must be sportsmanship and some sort of "honor".
two things: a) it wasn't pixelwalking, there was a clear ledge that he was stood on, ESL actually deemed that it wasn't pixel walking. but it was still illegal as it made some of the map textures invisible which was in the rules as cheating. B) there wasn't a rematch, because LDLC used a boost with the same invisible textures effect to try and counter the boost, a rematch was ordered but fnatic pulled out. in my opinion fnatic didn't use the transparent textures to their advantage and therefore it shouldn't have been deemed illegal for that reason. and fnatic should have won as a result of a brilliant boost.
Fnatic pulled out because Steelseries forced them to do so, because of the bad reputation they got as a sponsor of a team that used an "illegal" boost.
I don't see why it should be illegal. It's the in this specific case, it's the devs fault not the players. It should've been obvious from the start to put a clip there to prevent players from taking advantage.

It made almost impossible for opponents to know where bullets coming from. Plus they have entire maps knowledge by just one position. Similarly to walling but without hacks.
I heard: LDLC used a different boost in the half BEFORE this that violated the same rules. Therefore Dreamhack called for the two teams to play a full rematch, and fnatic CHOSE to forfeit.

Charlie Snippel DH admin never said it was legit ... he said that pixelwalking was legit . However this boost was considered an exploit because he couldn't be shot from anywhere he was aiming. That's was the official statement and they announced the rematch. LDLC used it aswell and that's why they would play the entire map all over again.

It must've taken them days to even find that boost, to this day I still don't understand why Fnatic was being punished for simply discovering sth new... In the end it's valves fault because they should've seen how that pixel edge could be problematic there.
Apparently it had been posted on forums then a fnatic manager asked the poster to remove it.
And well it's game exploits, a heavy one, of course you don't want that in competition, a game like any software will never be bug free, doesn't mean that you won't face consequences from exploiting bugs

7uCk1 Yes, it was unfair, that's why it got patched and the map supposed to be replayed (however not really replayed, Fnatic forfeited the tournament due to the shitstorm this boost caused).
+7uCk1 do a little bit of research pls, he was standing on top of a ledge, he was killable if you HIT him, Ldlc used a similar boost that served the same purpose, plus ldlc knew about the boost before the game and didn't say anything, fnatic just outsmarted ldlc in this one and that's why butthurt fans of ldlc are complaining about jack shit
this boost should not have been illegal, it wasnt some kind of hack, it was just creativity, and where in the e-sport lawbook it says those kind of boosts are illegal?, nowhere, they just came up with it after the match, Boosts are allowed, none said anything about full-map view boost

It is in the rules. You aren't allowed to use pixel walking. This boost uses an invisible ladder left in the game code which is pixel walking. (Standing on pixels left by code errors)

Pixelwalking isn't against the rules in DHW14, it was in DHS13 which had other rules. So the boost is totaly legit in that case, though you can see through some walls that should be there but aren't in that angle which is against the rules. LDLC used the same boost but not in that advantage that you could shoot, only get infomation. Thats why the game should had been played over without any boosts.
