I do think that it was indeed rightfully patched. But what's bullshit is that the game was nullified because someone used it. Fnatic should have won that game. Discussions of it's competitive integrity should wait until after they're handed the cup.

@@muzzle_4717 oh stfu, the boost wasnt even that broken, people played overpass after they saw this and there were so many ways to counter it, and on top of it ldlc used the same exploit, fnatic was just smarter with their boost.

@@Ghanemq8 Wait I didn't know that occured 4 years ago. Just assumed it happened recently and I know that overpass is out for a while (not too familiar with CSGO). That clears up a lot of things. Thank you for the information!

@@natecoke uhhhhhhhhhhh what.... there are always players getting into places on the map that were unintended... fucking tons of spots and youtube videos... Blizzard then patches them out just like Valve patched this out. Unless you mean pros don't do it, which then you'd be right we haven't seen pros stoop that low in competition to abuse a glitch... at least to my knowledge.

Fun fact, allegedly the boost was actually posted to CZcams prior to the event, and the fnatic manager requested the creator to take it down, which has now been cemented as a meme in r/GlobalOffensive
How is it looked down upon to cleverly use your surroundings. In overwatch there's so many boosts that people use. It's as if using the ledge on anubis first to get to the highround would be looked down on
CSGO and overwatch are not the same games. That boost is genuinely map-breaking and basically makes it so you can't hit B since you can't access catwalk and all nades have to be thrown from by short, which the CTs can position around based on the knowledge that they know the angle of all the flashes and know every spot the terroists will likely molotov due to there being a limit on how far you can throw them.
@@etzrah So left click is the only skill? Actually having a functionning brain and having map knowledge is more skill imo and they totally deserve the win, as kFc said the other team had months to discover the spot and they didn't.
Boosts are fine but this was game breaking and there were broken textures that let Olof essentially see parts of the map that he shouldn't have

literally wasn't possible to, because the person who found the exploit was contacted by fnatics manager to take down the video, so they could keep it a secret, and to make sure that Valve didn't patch a fix for it, which is against the partnership team orgs have with Valve.
Not only was it illegal in the rules of the tournament, it was against the partnerships orgs go into with the game devs.

What would’ve been the difference if he was laying down on the rooftop right there??? I mean.. it’s almost the same position, and stand on the glitch he’s even more exposed vs. if he laid on the roof.

This would be considered hacking and abuse of a bug that spot is called map knowledge and the fault of the enemy team not being able to find out where the enemy was positioned while firing this comparison is so trash

No it was a unsportsmanlike abuse of game mechanics and was looked down upon by literally 100% of the csgo playerbase.
