Did you ask "most people" at this time in counter strike history what they thought? Because if not, I reject your statement and ask for actual proof. I loved watching cs back then. So did the hundreds of thousands of others watching. Astralis dominating and liquid being their only competition was thrilling to watch. Watching liquid almost have an era and having astralis deny it was thrilling.

Even though I personally witnessed Astralis' rise to the top it's so easy to forget their impact on the development of the way the game is played fundamentally. Those nade kills seem so common place and ordinary now in 2024, but it's easy to forget almost no one ever even bought the HE grenade in 2018. Seemed like a waste of nade space, you could have an extra flash, a smoke or molotov instead. Hell, a breakthrough in HE nade meta was when Karrigan pioneered using them instead of a smoke for crossing in Dust II. Then Astralis started raining death on everyone's heads with well placed and timed HEs and soon everyone was doing it.
