Looks like a decently spec'd and reasonably priced unit. One issue that occasionally comes up with products like this is the potential lack of ongoing support for the app. If, one day, the app is no longer supported by the developer, the device may suddenly become less useful. For the price, however, it's probably not such a big deal. Good review.

      Thank you :)
The amplifier complies with the DLNA standard, so at least in theory it should be possible to control it with other 3rd party DLNA apps. But of course those certainly won't be able to access all functions...

Really nice review. I use an S10 connected to my hi-fi (Revox) to listen to internet radio and streaming from Spotify. It is a very competent little device. The feature that made me decide for this was that after programmed it was not necessary to use the phone anymore, using the remote to select different radio stations is a huge plus. The sound is good, however I imagine the biggest limitation will be the inherent defects of internet radio/streaming services, maybe an external DAC will improve things a bit, special for streaming... I am planning to move the S10 to the secondary system, get an s50 to the main one and a second S10 to a tube radio and have a multiroom system based on my existing systems.

Great and competent product review. However, I would never buy a device that uses an app, I've been bitten before when the manufacturer decides to either stop supporting the app or ceases trading. I have a £200 app operated kettle tat is now a brick because the company ceased trading. Also smart speakers that are also bricked because the company decided to stop supporting the app in order to make you purchase new speakers.
My hard and fast rule now is:
"if it needs an app to work, don't buy it"
    Beware.....

That seems like an awful lot to pay for a kettle. What was special about it? For not too much more, I believe you can purchase a low end version of one of those boiling water taps.

@@jamescollins6085 The kettle was a Kickstarter project and was a Christmas present from my Brother. The kettle kept water at a specific temperature indefinitely (for what use this is I know not) or you could switch it on via the internet. It eally didn't do anything you couldn't do with a £10 Sonoff smart plug.
My Brother knows I like smart devices. However, he now jokes that he is probably the only person who has ever purchased me a £200 brick.
Glad he could laugh, I would have been annoyed at the waste of money.
