RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what weâve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.
RE: LIVE VERSIONS vs STUDIO:
Check out why we haven't uploaded any live versions... yet. They will be coming, we promise!

I have been listening to this song for 20 years and I still get chills
This song has brought me to tears before.
@@jakecameron2976 same. I can only hope they bring it back for another tour. It would be perfect after what everyone has been through in the past year.
I remember when this song first hit the local rock stations airwaves. It totally destroyed anything else they were playing. It was like you were listening to a polka play list and suddenly someone kicks on some Led Zeppelin. Nothing could touch it nothing could compare to it.
Chills and tears for me every time. So moving!
Still makes me cry so often brother. And Iâm a stable guy lol.
One of the best songs ever made
I concur
1000% agree
Amen, brotha
Getting into Tool late means you've avoided the agony of waiting 10 years or more for their latest album.
Arguably the greatest Tool song ever written
Arguably the greatest song ever written. .
Best song in the history of music. As simple as that
I think Close To The Edge is the greatest song, but this is a close second!
Another great Tâ€ïžâ€ïžL reaction!
I tried to avoid giving you a suggestion but I can't help it -- As others have said, the 2 part song Parabol/Parabola is a must-listen. It's a masterpiece! I think you'll both have fun with it :)
The older I get, the stronger my affinity with Tool.
Listening cold like this is a good idea for Lateralus, IMO.
Now Google Lateralus and the Fibonacci Sequence. It'll blow your mind...
Big agree. I don't like when reactors obsess over the fibonacci sequence on their first listen. They're missing out on the raw experience of just listening for the first time, like all the OG fans had before anyone noticed any of the easter eggs. Very nice to see these guys not even aware of it.
The best song ever written, it is about the process of creation by the artist
I agree. This song personifies my love for music.
Your interpretation...
Interesting -- This is what's so great about Tool's and MJK songwriting. I always thought it was about following one's intuition but, come to think of it, it does make perfect sense. I can see it being about the creative process.
@@rleandro315 thank you
â@@avigayegos1496 Perfectly said, so simply. Artist / architect / God / creator / imagination... call it what you will, but Tool captured it here like very few have ever done.
My suggestion for the ultimate "meditative-inducing-state creation" would be the trio of songs that must be listened to together: Disposition, Reflection, and Triad. Other than that I'd recommend Tempest from their latest album.
listen to the man
I once meditated to the triad.....without ANY drugs....and still had an out of body experience. I think i talked to an alien.
Iâve been listening to these songs for 20 years and I still hear and feel new things with every listen.
You two will be blown away with Parabol & Parabola then Wings for Marie Part 1 & 10,000 days then Lost Keys & Rosetta Stoned. These songs are two songs each but listen to them one right after the other
Two of my favorite lines are in this song. " To swing on the spiral of our divinity, and still be a human". And "Following our will and wind, we may just go where no one's been".
Yes, they are the most powerful lines in the song. The build up and the conclusion ^^
Danny Carey. Drum cam. Pnuema.
I wish I could like this again.
Definitely would recommend. I think I've seen every reviewers reaction to it because the he is so amazing.
Do it! Do it!
We hear you, guys! We promise to do it!! My dad actually called me specifically to tell me that it popped up for him after watching our reaction and heâs seen it 5 times since then! He CANNOT WAIT for us to react to it either. Heâs officially a Tool fan and asked if you were recruiting! Haha. Thanks for all your support! â€ïž- Lex
Sounds like the Tool Army has 3 new members, take your time and enjoy!!! Very spiritual and deep stuff ahead, but this was an awesome reaction! Cheers
Lol awesome tell your dad welcome and to spiral out!
Rosetta Stoned is a must.
Please do not do Rosetta Stoned without Lost Keys!!!
@@RosettaStoned462 don't forget lipan conjuring
@@victor_. hiyeeee....I don't think lipan conjuring necessarily goes hand in hand with Rosetta Stoned. But lost keys đŻ does
They are a "TOOL" for you to use, however you see fit. đ
Since they're discography is not very large, I would suggest you start with tracks from the beginning of their career and work your way towards the end. The progression of the band over time is also something to behold.
I'd start with Opiate. In Sweat, the 1st song, is a hint of everything they've grown to become in one song.
Honestly, you two should STRONGLY consider doing their complete discography in order and digging a little deeper into the understanding of some of Maynardâs lyrics. The Tool Army will be with you every step of the way! đđ
Totally agree! It takes the music to a depth rarely, if ever seen. The back story to the lyrics is incredible, inspiring
Entire Aenima album is pure meditative bliss
There is a video by the account Polyphonic called âhow tool used math to create Lateralusâ that is 100% worth a watch, and the tool army will watch your reaction đ
It is actually insane how the band incorporated the Fibonacci sequence into Lateralus! One of the most complex songs ever made and, in my personal opinion, maybe the best song ever.

@@cranboogie coming in clutch đđ€đ»
Exactly, just an amazing song
U should have had the lyrics and it takes it to another level ... u want to go on another beautiful journey ... do disposition, reflection and triad aka the holy trinity
You should definitely check out "the humbling river" by puscifer (Maynard James Keenan the singer for Tools other band) beautiful song
Great job! Tool songs take you on a journey. The Grudge, Jambi, Right in Two, Vicarious. Spiral out to every song.
TOOL ARMY checking in.
Reactor Drew Fortune called it âEuphoric Metalâ.
Great Call!!
To me a lot of their music taps into the tribal animal in me. Music and rhythm is my most organic way of feeling good. Not a bad description.
This track to me carries the same weight as Dogs by Floyd and overture by Rush...masterpiece from masters
A masterpiece!!!!
I'll always love watching new tool fans try to bob their head along with the music the first time they hear a song;]
Would like to see you experience Pushit from the Aenima album and then follow it with Pushit Live from Salival. They completely remade an already awesome song. (And it's LIVE).
This song has been getting better and better with each listen for the last 20 years.
Thanks for the shout out đ§Ą
The next 3 songs on this album are favorites of mine as well. They are called The Holy Trinity of Tool. Disposition, Reflection and Triad.
^prepare for meditation on the best level possible^
And once you start to dive into the lyrical portion of the song you will be left in a meditative state long after each finishes. This is the best band ever, they are all masters of their trade and there are many great bands but to me this is the best. Iâve been with them since 1993, a difficult year for me and they helped me through somewhat. My only complain about them is after nearly 30 years they have such a small discography.
Quality not quantity!
@@rayyman6934 exactly and thatâs why theyâre still my favorite that would be nice if they had a couple more albums. It is what it is.
One of the coolest reactions that Iâve seen to this song, and Iâve seen dozens!
Maynard James Keenan on Vocals
Adam Jones on Guitar
Justin Gunner Chancellor on Bass
And the drum legend Danny Carry on his monster drum kit.
For those who donât know who the members are.
Need to do the Holy Trinity, it's long but well worth it.
Heard my name for the first time on you tube ha ! Thanks lol. Having fun with this is the key, keep it up!
Ticks & leeches next! Please!!! This is one of the most aggressiv songs theyâve done!
Itâs always the same songs people reacting to...
So awesome to see you react. Makes me feel like NOT so much a freak! :)
Listen to Push It, the studio version then the live Salival version. They redid their own song and both are some of their best work
There is a sense of falling into a trance in many TOOL songs. This one takes you in through the Fibionacci circadium and lets you SPIRAL OUT.
âThis is, the definition of coolđâ love that
Awesome reaction!! Do more Tool!!! New subscriber here. Thanks! People like you enjoying first time listens to Tool and picking up on all of the things I love about Tool is just... Awesome! Do More Tool!!!
Epic aye.... Plenty more were that's from!... Enjoy the journey guys.
Itâs definitely a journey and one that some donât understand which is completely ok. But TOOL seriously takes you on a different ride each time you listen to them. Great video and channel!! Cheers from Texas and beautiful setup in the back!!
Thank you for your support and kind compliments; we are so excited to continue listening to them! :) Sending peace, Lex
So cool you guys do this! Iâm jealous.
I was just thinking that you guys NEED to listen to this! One of Toolâs best!
If u want something live, check out Sober live at Reading. Not many live performances other than cellphone footage that TOOL don't even allow in their shows.
This song live is quite an experience. The endings of this song and 46&2 seen live will friggin blow your head off. đ€Ż
I love watching tool reactions and specifically (obviously) this song, but I always end up closing my eyes and vibing instead of watching the reaction lol :)
Beautiful reaction!
Love your channel . You both are so excited to listen to new music. You should give a band called Soen a listen. Thanks for this video! Cant wait for more!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I suggest Pushit (Salival) Live version.
It's not about too soon or too late when you find Tool, it finds you
I really appreciate this reaction, cuz I can understand that you understand.
The bass whammy is FIRE at that bridge!
Thanks so much for these Tool reacts, guys. I really enjoy watching them, and I love seeing people get into this awesome band.
Pardon my nerding out a bit, but I felt like answering one of the questions you guys asked in one of these videos. The masterminds behind the album Lateralus are 5 geniuses by the names of: Maynard James Keenan (vocals and lyrics)
Adam Jones (guitar and sitar)
Justin Chancellor (bass and additional guitars)
Danny Carey (drums and percussion)
David Bottrill (producer)
TOOL is their own genre
Just subscribed. Keep the Tool coming!
Thank you for your support!
We've got a "wealth problem": Every day and age has got more good music than the years before. But nowadays we all got access to the lot if it.... Trick is to focus on what's worth while. This is certainly amongst that!
I think we have two new recruits. Boot camp is starting.
fibonacci sequence, the entire song, what do you get from adding all the numbers, a SPIRAL! Masterful consruction of the syllables in the lyrics being a fibonacci sequence,, the musical timing, all of it!
Rush, Dream Theatre, LTE, Tool! Right down my alley. Love the reactions and love following your journey. Thanks! đ€đ€đđ
Thank you so much for your support! :) - Lex
The best band out there. Period.
In all honesty I think you'll love Push It live, Salival version an absolute masterpiece
I know this Piece for 20 Years, and the most of the time I listen to it as a Drummer (not very good Drummer). I was confused but amazed. But now I start to hear it like a Classic-Music Piece, and then all make sence. ( Sorry for my limited English )
You guys really need to watch Danny Carey's live Drum cam version of Tool's "Pneuma" Great song, and watching him on a professional drum cam is amazing.
If you love progressive / metal bands with great musicianship, you should listen to Haken or The pineapple thief (with Gavin "Porcupine Tree" Harrison as a drummer). For a more meditative prog metal / rock band, check Riverside and / or Lunatic Soul, their polish singer Mariusz Duda is amazing ;)
Great suggestions! I listen to all of those. Might add Soen to it as well.
Check out Danny Carey's live drum cam of Pneuma, it will blow your mind!! No joke, it's mesmerizing.
"this music would be good in 70's...." This music WAS born in 70's: Genesis, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Yes, King Crimson and more were all kings of progressive back in 70's.
Wait till you get in to the meaning behind the song you are about to get alot of comments great job
I subscribed cause u guys are just getting into Tool. Lol u have no idea whatâs coming from this band. Hang onđ
Red Rocks 98, Pepsi Center 01 or 02? EPIC Shows. You guys are right there.
Weâre Denverites!! :)
Just Subbed!!! Great content....Great character!!!
Thank you so much! Glad to have you! :) - Lex
Tool, pure musical art.
Denver! Me too. Tool are the best band on the planet and have been for more than 25 years. You are in for such an incredible journey. I'm jealous. No other band is close. Oh, they are all mid 50's or older making this kind of music. They will be listening to this 300 years from now, if we're still here.
Beautiful weather today... yay!! âïž
Nice, y'all!!!
Welcome to Tool. Your life will never be the same.
"Tool" is one of those etymological crystals of numerous meanings, like "Earth" and the F word.
They used this word because it's a noun, verb, adjective, etc, in both personal and objective tenses.
Had a buzz and watched yâall againâŠ
MileHi here too đ€đŒđ
Listen to Right In Two!! You guys will really enjoy the message of that song
Spiral out...keep going! Enjoy the ride
Cerebral.....and that's an understatement, read the lyrics just for yourself, and listen again.....meditative state with intention
Tool reaction with Pink Floyd poster in back... đŻ good on ya!
Right back atcha with your picture! Thanks for joining us! :) - Lex
I remember the times I'd stop by my mom's house and she'd ask me to take her car to the gas station. And sometimes there would be either Pink Floyd, Bob Segar and sometimes Bach or Beethovan in the CD player.
Great reaction! I recommend Pushit - Salival and Jambi next. Tool has almost no bad songs though, most Tool recommendations are going to be a great pick.
Liked and Subscribed for more Tool journey....
You guys should make more of Tool!
Danny Carey was in the Baked Potato all the time too. Spoke with him several times. He had side projects that played the small jazz clubs.
The song that got me started on buying cds
Adam hits those notes. You know the notes I mean? Yeah.....you know the notes
So hereâs a story, mid 1990âs and my cousin was a new CHP officer, he tells my little sister who was in to Tool that heâd stopped to do a checkup on a bus that was broken down on the side of the road. Turns out it was the band and they were on tour. I donât remember if he got an autograph for her or not. Man itâs been a f-ing long time since then. đ
Wooooahh! Thanks for sharing!! - Lex
If you haven't yet, please listen to Vicarious
Its my favorite song...ever. It's one of the best pieces of music. Ranks up there with the greats from distant pass.
I'm confused every time anyone doesn't react this way when discovering/listening to tool......
EVERY..... TIME
Yeah, yall get it...
There's a cool video of just Danny in a studio drumming along to the last part of this song. It's how i found out there was a gong;]
Keep this safe in your little tool boxđ€
Disposition - Reflection - Triad is a must-listen :)
Most tool reactions start with the live version of "Sober". However, if you want to hear a kick ass song by tool, Eulogy is awesome.
Can't wait you guys leave the earth when react to "fear inoculum" album âđŸđ
lmao the captions said, "Bobby jars on back" (Jarzombek).
