He is traveling around europe to escape the pain of losing his parents. His father died when he was 12 and his mother a year later. The burning at the end is him leaving his pain behind.
It is a great piece of art when you include the lyrics

Thank you for doing research before reviewing, but please turn on the subtitles, so you can understand, and then the research information will make more sense.
The burning house is about (burning) accepting the past and accepting the loss of his parents. The travelling and eating European food did not help him forget and escape the pain. It's a fun and upbeat song, but actually with a serious meaning.
Now you know. Please watch it again. You will look at it differently.😊

Joost lost his father at the age of 13 and his mother a year later. According to his father, Europe has no borders. This song is a nod to his parents and an ode to Europe.

Hé isn’t having fun traveling Europe, he is running for himself, and his feelings, because he lost both his parents at age 13.
The song tells a story, he is traveling because his dad told him to, because there is a world without borders.

This is fabulous, I gave up on the UVSC 3 years ago but Joost makes me want to watch it again. This work of art has it all, it makes you laugh, it makes you wanna move to the groove, and it is a great message, so many typical Dutch referrals / hidden gems, it gives me Chickenskin (Goosebumps) and it made me cry. I have found out how great Joost is because of this piece of art, I did not even know about him before he was on the Avondshow with Arjen Lubach not so long ago. My initial 1st impression was ""what a nutter"", but that soon changed finding out his backstory and hearing this art for the 1st time. Now I am backtracing his artwork and am amazed at how great of an artist he actually is, and me being no spring chicken anymore at 58 and counting he achieved to impress me, and I'm not easily impressed. Joost is a revelation, wow!!
Joost lost his dad to cancer when he was a teenager +/- 13 years old, and his mother died from a heart attack a year later.
""Those who laugh the brightest most always have the heaviest loads they carry around, where ever they travel that backpack of experiences is always there, they can't escape from that, be as free a spirit as you can be, respect your elders, don't waste your time, and an ode to his dad credo""borders are stupid"", and Ubuntu(*)""
This sums up Europapa (papa is Dutch for Daddy) for me, it is true Art and a masterpiece by Joost (Joast) Klein (kline).
(*) Ubuntu (Xhosa(a South African tribe language) for "we are all as one"") is the most prolific, important, eye-opening, life-changing word I have learned in my 58 years of being an earthling.
Ubuntu to you, fellow earthling :)
Btw Klein means small in Dutch.
    Joost Klein, dream big

The song is typical of the Netherlands. It is in Dutch, a music genre, the music video features mills and stunning Dutch landscapes.
Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. "Parents, one day I'm going to be on Eurovision stage" and he did. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his late father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. The part in the song “I'm in Germany, but I'm so alone. I'm in Italy, but I still feel the pain, etc.", I feel it's directed at his parents... Joost loved his parents and still does. His lyrics are mostly very deep, but the melody is happy, danceable and the clips of his song are presented in a fun way.

Nice , you did pickup a lot that is to be heard and seen. So many layers in this sort of coming off age event . On stage Joost may take some time for himself covering under a piece of cloth without a completely muting the sound ... . Personal and shared emotional experiences are the tools he uses to appeal to people.

I don't need the finals anymore, this is the absolute winner. Period.
Now covering that is done. I need to address your video. It's not so good.
You cut way too much of the the video you are reacting to.
Remember, you are just reacting, there's no need to make cuts. Something with fair use.
Since you replied on only fragments of the original video while presuming to react to the full content, I must say you did a bad job. A very bad job. This kind of condensed content is absolutely unwanted.
    Improve yourself!

    • @laubariesc
      @laubariesc  Před 4 měsíci +1

if I don't make these cuts the video gets blocked due to copyright... If someone knows how to avoid it, I'll be happy to learn
