Wasim Akram is a jewel of cricket... Following him since 1991, the year I started following cricket.. his biggest fan... Haven't seen anyone better than him so far and am damn sure won't be seeing anyone replicating him... according to me, he is best bowler the world has ever seen, absolute magician.. Taking a bow.. Sir.. Respect

@@sagcric6801 That was never proven. That inquiry was conducted by Justice Qayyum who later turned out be a corrupt judge. So all his findings and allegations against the players are questionable, lack credibility imo

Glad to see wasim akram come back strongly at the question about him missing the 1996 world Cup quarter final against india, but these rumours have been spreaded by famous Pakistan players like salim malik and aamir sohail etc

The decision to not play Wasim in QF was made just 15 minutes before the toss in the meeting attended by just 3 people, Wasim the captain, Intikhab Alam the coach,& Imran khan, who was there for commentary & didn't have any position,so don't know in what capacity he attended the meeting and made decisions for Pakistan cricket.
Infact, it was Imran who advised (or ordered....?) Wasim to not play the match,& Wasim obeyed his "master" as always.
If Pakistan won 96 WC, Imran never have the same aura that he enjoyed in later years as only 50 over winning Pakistani captain,& it will hurt his political ambitions as he was launching himself in Pak politics in very same year.
In coming years, when Pak team was at strongest, Imran made it sure that Pakistan never able to win another ODI WC, using Wasim Akram.
Rest is the history, and wise people can understand the real story behind this "history"!!!
Waqar is still so rough and tough. Was the only Pakistani bowler who had the ruthless eyes similar to West Indian pace battery. Just glare, no talk.

What a visual treat to see legendary Wasim Akram and wawar Younis the Yorker king ..two of the greatest fast bowlers and McGrath comes in between wasim and waqar .. for me always wasim the greatest and then McGrath and waqar .. as a late 80s born Indian kid these two where absolute nightmare for us but loads and loads of love to Wasim Sir .. My favorite Fast bowler always
Shoaib malik preffered to play domestic cricket instead of playing in cash rich league cricket.He is a true patriot.For selection in national team, playing in domestic cricket should be made mandatory.Malik had earned two man of the match awards in National T20 cup while representing central punjab,still malik was not considered for national selection.
The biggest lost for Pakistan regarding cricket was M Asif …. I wish we would have seen more of him.

In world cup (1996) match against india why great miandad was sent at no.6 instead of his normal number four(4) by captain Amir suhail while as less experienced batters were sent ahead of miandad.This had lead to increase in "asking run rate".Probably had miandad batted at his right appropriate number,result could have been different.
Well said Waseem Akram,there were other players besides akram who could have sealed a win for pak.After all it is a"team game".
Malik is way right on Haris Sohail's backing. This time I disagree with Misbah. Haris Sohail is a splendid batsman. He shouldn't be wasted. He is a genuine middle-order batsman.
Shoaib Malik talked about very good topics such as Haris Sohail and Imad Wasim We lost a lot of great players in the same way We waste talent and the world cultivates talent
