I keenly look forward to this show everyday.

As an afghan I have tremendous respect for Wasim Ikram.
I used to watch him play & he was one monster of a bowler his action, passion & love for the game was a joy to watch.
He is very respectful & accurate with his analogies & clarifications of the situations just like the legendary bowler he was.
You have to be honest today we were the better team, 💯 🇦🇫domination from the beginning, yes Pakistan wasn’t at it’s best you could see that on the field but that doesn’t take way the fact that Afghanistan was so solid & determined to win this no matter what. Good luck on the next game. 🙏

Once Kuldeep Yadav was out of form, he was dropped. He worked on his game, got his rythm and is now back with the bang. Pakistan is carrying Shadab for a year despite very average performance. This very much explains the way cricket is being administered in both countries.
Poor performance by pakistan cricket hurts cricket overall.

The last time Shadab played FC cricket was in 2020. No wonder he has lost all semblance of control when bowling in the longer formats. If he values his t20 franchise contracts over his performances for Pakistan in the longer formats, then he should relinquish his vice-captaincy.

    Interesting Pakistan ODI stats:
Since 2015 ODI Matches played by Pakistan : 129
Of which 73 Matches were played in the WC years 2015, 2019, 2023. That means only 56 matches were played in the remaining 6 years, 9.33 games / year i.e. less than 1 game per month of which more than half of the games were played against teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afganistan, West Indies.
Matches played against India, NZ, SA, Australia & England : 75
Matches Won of the 75 matches : 21
Win % against teams India, NZ, SA, Australia & England : 28 %
Before the WC year in the previous 3 years Pakistan is seriously unprepared, and it has become a pattern on display. How have they not been able to recognise this simple pattern?

    • @akshaymate954
      @akshaymate954 Před 8 měsíci

@@neoandleia I can't do a statistical analysis considering there have been 10 ICC tournaments since then and the data is too complex but I'll give my chronological observation:
      1. 2013 onwards : We didn't have a fixed bowling unit. Most bowlers developed in Ganguly's era and between 2007-2011 weren't consistent enough to hold their positions in the XI. Zaheer khan was past his prime. Players like Sreeshanth, Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel, RP Singh, Ishant Sharma. While some players like Irfan Pathan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Laxmipathy Balaji and Ashish Nehra were missing out being injury prone, talented players like Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Robin Utthapa got opportunities in Patches and were phasing out of the squad. Ashwin, Virat, Dhoni, Rohit and Jadeja continued to be a part of the team.
      2. 2015 onwards : Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Chesteshwar Pujara, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Kedar Jadhav were some of the young talent who made their way into the XI. Ishant Sharma became a Test specialist bowler. During this period India seriously lacked a fast bowling all-rounder, Irfan Pathan was a huge potential which couldn't make it and India had a shallow batting lineup. During this time Kohli took over as captain.
** During this whole time Jadeja was an extremely underrated player who should have played and contributed way more than the opportunities he was given **
Potentials who could/can have done a lot more:
      Bowlers Batsman All Rounders
      i. Ishant Sharma Ambati Rayudu Irfan Pathan
ii. Amit Mishra Sarafaraz Khan Axar Patel (Dropped after 2017)
iii. Ashish Nehra Wasim Jaffer Stuart Binny
      iv. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar Suresh Raina
      v. Laxmipathy Balaji Dinesh Karthik
      3. 2017 onwards : Emergence of new blood came through with Bumrah, Pandya, KL Rahul, Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya which changed the dynamic of the team and brought some strength the bowling attack with a deeper batting lineup. Axar Patel was getting opportunities since 2014 in the squad, but was discarded for the future plans. Players still needed to gain experience and develop stability in the squad. 2017's disappointing loss in the T20 WC final against Sri Lanka & against Pakistan in Champions Trophy displayed how lacking our midde and lower middle order was and that our fast bowling unit was heavily dependent on Bumrah
India's batting still heavily relied on the top order and were still in search of a reliable quality middle order batsman. KL became a second choice opener after Dhawan. Dinesh Karthik continued to opportunities in Patches. While talents like Sanju Samson, Ambati Rayudu, Surya Kumar Yadav were going under the radar
      4. 2019 onwards : A third wave of talent made their way : Prithvi Shaw, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Rishabh Pant, Mohammad Siraj. After Dhoni's retirement there was huge hole for a keeper batsman. While Pant solidified himself in the Tests, KL took on this role in the ODIs and started playing in the middle order but India failed to find a consistent keeper/batsman in T20s. Dinesh Karthik gave cameos and was a contender in patches in limited formats of the game. First time in 2019 World Cup, India looked to have a solid team. Rohit gave legendary performance in the WC, India was unlucky to not be able crack through the Semis. India still had a weak lower middle order while Pandya was still developing as fast bowler.
** Between 2019-2022 Kuldeep Yadav was not getting enough opportunity. He was a player who needed to be backed and could have done a LOT more **
      5. 2021 onwards. : A continuation to the third wave players like Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Shubhman Gill, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi made their way into the squad made a huge comeback. Shami came to his prime and the team started coming together as Pandya started performing more consistently with the ball and the bat. However, India was extremely under prepared for the T20 2021WC where they tried to emulate their IPL form into the WC and chose a squad based on that. KL Rahul performed very badly while the team looked undercooked. Specially during the pandemic, T20I WC was postponed but IPL was played. India took their lesson and appropriately formed a XI for 2022 T20I WC. With Bumrah injured, not giving Kuldeep an Opportunity and giving Ashwin a shot in the T20 squad, Arshdeep emerged as a special talent with the new ball while Bishnoi showed Potential. India losing in their 2021 WTC final was a fair loss with NZ being the better team on that day.
***** Currently the management has been ignoring 1 player who deserves an opportunity in the Test setup : Sarafarz Khan , he holds the record for the second highest batting average in the history of first class cricket *****
      6. 2023 onwards. : After Bumrah's comeback, Pandya gaining experience and becoming a more effective bowler, Siraj hitting another gear to become the no. 1 ODI bowler, Shami becoming a highly effective wicket taker and highest wicket taker for the recent IPL season, Kuldeep's explosive comeback with management realizing it was a mistake to not have him in the setup. Iyer, Gill and Kishan showing their worth by giving consistent performances against top teams, this is probably the most complete squad India has ever produced. 2 Players India should have considered in this setup would be Shikhar Dhawan and Washington Sundar. Sanju Samson has also been going under the radar as a genuine talent.

Being a Indian, I want few things Pakistani Team need to change (Brutal but honest review):
    1. An explosive opener wo can make quick runs. So that remaining batsman like babar rizwan play their game.
    2. Haris rauf is only a T20 bowler. Replace him with a swing pace bowler.
    3. Fitness Specially to improve fielding.
    4. Babar is not a tactically good captain. He need to be more aggressive in field setting. Like for 3rd wicket the way pakistani allow afgan player to take easy single that should not be happened.
And last " Bhai post match jaldi upload kr diya kro" 😁

Congratulations to Afghanistan on their fantastic and deserved win.
But extremely disappointing to see Pakistan lose this way as a cricket fan. Most of us have grown up watching the great Pakistani teams of the 90's and early 2000's. One of the qualities of those teams was their ability to fight the fight. You always knew as opposing team fans that with Pakistan, they were always with a chance no matter what the situation was. Of course, they had great cricketers in Wasim, Waqar, Saqlain, Akthar and some fantastic batsmen who could turn the tide at any point. So, to see a Pakistani team perform so badly and surrender without a fight is both shocking and disappointing.
The panelists have already listed a lot of points that ails Pakistani cricket. Not sure how much can change though given the challenges. But one thing is for sure. The game of cricket needs the flair and character of a strong Pakistan cricket team. The loss of West Indies cricket is already hurting us enough and i hope Pakistan doesn't go the same route. So, if not for themselves, at least for the sake of the game and moderate and appreciating fans of good cricket, they do what is needed to turn things around.
From a fan from the other side of the border.
