How do you set up the rebar so that it's suspended before pouring the concrete?
I’m also interested in how this was done to suspend the rebar and prevent it from touching the face. Thanks
Nice job Darling
How did that slurry work out for you? Did it fill in all the pin holes??
What kind of sandpaper/discs did you use? It looks great...I'm currently trying to figure out a hearth for a new outdoor fireplace. Thanks
Robin Murphy I used 80 grit through 220 grit, but it took a ton of discs at each step to get the final finish. I can’t remember the total count, but 2 full packs each.
@@EkalbGnilrad Awesome, thank you. I figured it would take many pads, but still cheaper than actual concrete polishing pads.
Did you use any type of coloring agent in your cement mix? What type of concrete mix did you use? Thank you
Great video. How did you install floating rebar?
Was wondering the same
Same here
What did you build your platform out of?
How would one go about making a rough edge?
I’m not sure a rough edge would be possible without a mould edge that has a simulated raw edge. Maybe a good piece of raw-edge lumber on the sides?
What type concrete? Many different ones.
I used 5000 psi concrete. I think it took 8 bags, but the bags have a guide to determine how many will be needed.
@@EkalbGnilrad 8 bags of 80# ?? Oh my. I have to make a fireplace mantel. Woman alone. Now I don't know if I can do it. what type of concrete? There's many types? N? S?
How many bags of concrete did you use?
I think this ended up taking three 80-pound bags of concrete.
thickness of the finished slab?
