Whoa that turned out amazing 👏😍
Dispointed you replied to this. I know you are just supporting the project and the work they did while trying to comfort them by only commenting about the project while they are getting backlash. I am glad you felt the need to support another maker .... But by commenting and not addressing the problem inherent in this videos choice of sponsorship, it comes off as you supporting that choice.
@@maxengel2079 Nerdforge has their own HP maker video that just recently got new life via a yt short
😍😍
It's awesome to see you support your fellow maker. This was an amazing project video and comments aside, I hope Bob and the team are super proud of what they made. It turned out beautifully.
skjera bagera!
I've been rewatching the Mandalorian and currently on the book of Boba Fett. There is a scene in BoBF where Fett makes his own Gaderffii with the tusken raiders. They show a surprising amount of detail, would be really cool to see Bob follow along and make one using (as closely as feasible) the same techniques.
This is so cool. I just finished the main story after 35 hours. I am so addicted to this game
When painting metallics, should prime black underneath, preferably a satin or gloss.
You can get transparent resins to be transparent by coating them in wet resin or UV resin afterwards and UV curing. This brings back the transparency usually.
I love these kinds of videos because they show just how many skills and mediums makers have at their disposal to create things. Modelling (great work btw Josh), fabric, 3D printing, electronics, vinyl, airbrushing, etc. Turned out really great!
Love the LEDs and how they add that touch of magic! That seems like something that can really enhance a project and take it to the next level. Awesome job, especially with a tight deadline!
Beautiful work! Gosh this channel is such an inspiration everytime!
Very cool project guys. Love all the inside looks at what went right, wrong, and how you got through it. Very cool stuff!
WOW! You all crushed this build!
Wow! So many skills put into a single project. Impressive to say the least
That came out amazing! Nice work!!
I had so much fun with this game and always wished there was a port key case since i saw it. You guys did an amazing job and i had so much watching you making it
I wish you guys had just one more week to pull that off. Granted there is no way I could have pulled any of that off myself, the filament layer lines were screaming at me. AMAZING work though! That took a ton of hard work and creativity to make a reality.
Yeah, I noticed them too. I'm sure they're not 100% happy with their realisation because they really care about that kind of detail. Wish they'd had more time but they did so amazing in the litle time they had, I'd still love to have one of those in my collection, layer lines and all
@@RoxaneJ14 I totally agree!
Fantastic work, Bob and company!
DAAAAAAMMMMMNNNN!!!! So you can make more Victorian stuff? What could it be that Bob can make Victorian details? 🤣
Really, really enjoyed this build; great job!
This sounds like every big project ... they've worked on that game for years - and a week before they need such stuff, they reached out to you and you have stress and should do wonders :D
I am still amazed an the things that you all are able to make. Great Job!
Such an awesome build. Great job teasing it in the podcast. Got me excited and the build did not let me down.
Side note:
Does anyone know what Josh was using with his left hand on the desk? Looked like a second mouse type device... that worked with fusion 360. Any suggestions would be super helpful.
It is (or is similar to) 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Compact!
Rad, thanks so much.
I knew it was this game from the teasers but could not for the life of me figure out what you were making! Awesome job bringing the portkey to life!
Consider making the not clear part of the emblem metal and adding a touch capacitance switch to it. That would make the light up effect more interesting to me.
love the video.
If you want to paint a marble texture you can do it by spraying one colour as a base and then using a used dryer sheet and stretching it in an uneven pattern and airbrushing through it with the second colour. It creates a very realistic marble effect.
Looks amazing! I did not expect to be saying this cause I don't really care that much about harry potter, but this might be my game of the year. I already like it more than Breath of the Wild, so I'll have to see if Breath of the Wild 2 can dethrone it.
Looks bigger than in the game or am I needing to go back and watch it again ha
would to see you guys tackle a functioning Weaselly Clock.
Let me guess,
The so called clear turns yellow!
By chance would it happen to be the elegoo clear?
Graciously, artfully presented as always, and the final product looks like a genuine relic from some alternate timeline where magic is real. You're a good and talented man Bob Claggett.
I could feel the stress of that deadline. But what is the worst that would have happened? Would they have turned you into a newt?
that's pretty funny. thanks
…He got better.
A NeWt?
awesome, so much technical knowledge, from the design and fit to velvet and moulds
Great job as always guys!
Tons of work!
Totally worth it 👌
Water printing could be good solution for outside
It looks awesome! :D
Great job :)
Looking forward to playing the game :D
Wow that turned out great
What to if I have been locked out of the website due to forgetting my password?
Amazing build!! Also, for the love of all that is mighty, please please do a 10 minute blooper video at the end of the year 😂 “farts”.
Dude! That is a HUGE complicated build for a week.
It is really interesting I would like to see a version two where you had enough time to get the finish to where you wanted it to be.
Very cool Bob! Glad you included your trials, error, and mishaps. It helped show just how much detail and work goes into a build like this!
This thing looks amazing! Great project, guys!
We would hope that our reputation of respect and message of creative inclusion has been consistent over the years and that has not changed. We don’t condone hate speech or derogatory comments toward anyone, period. Like always, we just wanted to make a cool thing.
You don't "condone" it, but you are actively supporting it. That's the problem. The action outweighs the intention.
We don't condone the thing we are actively supporting and promoting with this video.
Thank you for addressing this. I am still disappointed you didn't consider this reaction when you made your choice of sponsor.
I wish there was a way that you could still use the work you did here to support yourself without supporting the game.
I know personally I would prefer if you took the video down and did not continue to advertise for the game now that you are informed on the issues.
You're good people. You've done nothing wrong, and you've succeeded in making a cool thing. Keep up the good work!
Don't worry supporting someone who has an opinion isn't hate, or supporting hate. People just like to create drama, keep on with your business and let the trolls keep on trolling, let the wokists go back to sleep (they have to at some point right?), and don't let people who think that their opinion is the only valid opinion be your defining trait.
The entire time I've followed your channel, everything has been drama free, discrimination free, and you making this item does NOT nullify any of those points..... Or make you someone who forces your views down everyones throats.
Wow that is unbelievable! It's great to finally see it after being teased in the podcast. Amazing work .
just curious do you made few more and sell them?
Oh my gosh Bob this just the video for me to start off watching your videos again thanks 😊
Thanks for making videos that inspire and empower others to make the stuff that they want to have. Hopefully, you'll see something here that will inspire you to make something you're passionate about!
The Portkey itself is obviously amazing. But the video production and editing on this was top notch as well. The video game achievements tied it all in. For a project that was about the sponsor this didn’t feel like an advertisement at all. Just another great ILTMS build. Great job everyone as always.
Are the 3D printed rejects useful for...anything or do you just have to toss them?
Can you make tabletop for Cardfight vanguard?
This looks truly amazing!
I feel like I've been hearing about teasers for this for so long. This project video did not disappoint at all.
This stuff blows my mind. You could make just about anything with that computing box and the 3D printing machine. Very cool little thingamajig and great video.
That had to be so stressful trying to get that done in time with all the reprints and limited timeline! It turned out awesome!
Great video. Thanks for including and discussing the failed/reprinted ideas and tweaks that were necessary along the way. So many project creators skip all the trial and error or reiterating that is needed when something like this needs to be practical and not just a pretty paperweight. Reverse engineering and willingness to redesign and not just pigeonhole down one idea and force it to work is a great mentality to have for anyone making anything or working in stuff in general. Congrats on the execution of a fun build. Can't wait to see what's next.
Cool video! I’m sure it was very stressful. As far as the game we have been playing non stop since it came out and the whole family loves it! I think the PS5 would love a break 😂
Well done ILMS team!
Now ... i really would like to see a version done by DIY Perks!!
I'd hope DIY Perks would have some ounce of integrity
More amazing work by Bob & his team! That Magic Portkey turned out looking great! This Hogwarts Legacy game reminds me of an adventure game from a while back. It was called "Myst" and I played it for hours on end. Anyway, great work guys! Now go make some more Magic! 👍👍👏👏💥💥
“Farts!” “Oh snot!” Gotta love the wholesome Bob swears.
Very nice work, especially looking at the time frame!
Now if only they had the same deadline for xbox 1
This game is so much fun, I've been playing it nonstop... I wish that you guys could have played it before making this to see what the functionality of it was... maybe that would have had some impact on your process!!
There is a trick I heard about that I haven't tried yet for smoothing fdm prints. Painting the surface with uv resin and curing it with a uv light to fill in the layer lines. I think it should be much faster than sanding to get a polished surface on PLA (I want to continue avoiding using ABS)
Quick dirty way to do a marble is paint your base color stretch a dryer sheet over it and spray your secondary color
"And then it explodes. Oh, it worked!" - Me, (nearly) every time I test a piece of code for the first time or finish putting my car back together (again).
I wish Bob and Adam would be able to release the assets they used when designing this, even if it was paid access I would buy these files
Partial prints and printing just the trouble bits may have helped. A file is not going to be 100% the first time every time especially if it is a lot of moving pieces.
How does the developer of the game not have complete models and textures?
That was so cool. I loved how you leveraged all of you skills and tools to pull that off
The opening was really well done and the prop turned out great! I"m pretty sure I have some of that same-colored crush velvet too.
I love it Can you crack me up laughing Can I look to real
I remember josh talking about working on his 3D modeling skill 7-8 years ago. I’d say he has achieved that goal.
I honestly think this would be an awesome project to recreate as high value as possible. Like using a metal lathe for the top and bottom, or the CNC for the brass plates and fittings.
Great job! My only critique would be the logo glows blue not orange, but over all nicely done
With a little more time, we would have had it glow blue.
@@Iliketomakestuff I thought that was interesting because it looked like you had high color temperature LEDs. Was it just that the logo material filtered the light to a lower color temperature?
Any plans on putting the STL files out for download? Would love to print one of these for myself :D
wow this video must have gotten suppressed hard, I usually see your videos the first day you post them and I'm not just seeing this until now
When you mentioned that you were working on a prop in the podcast I thought you might have been asked to do something for Hogwarts Legacy. At least they didn't ask for a life size Pensieve Guardian. :) Great job!
Hey!! you still make videos!! great!! even if there is a commercial it’s good to see something in your channel! I miss the woodworking videos though!! Cheers!!
As usual, the ILTMS team crushes it. Sweet build!
Great job! I know how hard it is working with tight deadlines and agency requirements. I’ve been making props and interactive entertainment for events/tv/movies etc for 10 years, and I would highly recommend you look at moving away from fusion if your going to be taking on more work like this. I know fusion gives you a lot of bang for your Buck but it’s also doesn’t have some of the features that other cad software does, which will drastically reduce the number of simple errors you make. It’s won’t eradicate them, and even I still do stupid things occasionally but it will help give you more time
Which software would you recommend instead ?
This could be called Bob Clagett and the Cursed Contraption - great work as always, especially on such a tight deadline.
awesome project! I felt the stress of the deadline thru the screen, yet you managed to make something truly incredible. Really, really impressive build. Great work team! And, I must say, of all the video game ads I get, Hogwarts Legacy is the only one I've watched in full. The game seems super sick. How cool is it that you guys got to partner with Warner Bros to make something awesome?! Keep crushing it.
Wow this looks amazing!
That looks amazing!
I've been playing on PS5 since early access and I love it!
WB : you have 7 days to create magic
- aight bet.
Amazing job !! Congratulations to you and your team.
thanks
Wow, what a cool project. Is there any way to get or buy the files? would like to recreate it myself
@@FNmey hmmm very unfortunate. then I have to do some crafting myself
I need a Josh! 😅
This guy never ceases to amaze me
Amazing work as always. Now I want to try and make one too.
You're a wizard Bob!
Just listened to the latest podcast this morning on the way to work where you teased an upcoming project based on a pretty big license video game. Then this comes out today, nice! Great project.
Great video but what a nightmare of a deadline for something like this. I've been on deadlines like this before and it removes all enjoyment of the project and just causes stress for a week.
I love that there are SO many different things used to make this, from modeling to 3D printing, casting, etc. It really does light some bulbs in my head of how all of these things can be used to create, be it for props or anything else! Cool project, and even better, it is inspiring for making. Thanks everyone! ❤️
I’m not a Harry Potter fan but it was really fun and interesting watching you and your team design and build this!
Turned out really nice. Boy that was stressful to watch, though. Yowza. What a time crunch.
I thought this might be what you alluded to on the No Instructions Podcast!
That's amazing!
Very nice project.
So cool. I want one.
Dope thing to create. Great job team
Cool project!
This is cool, but I kinda miss the early days of “I like to make stuff” where stuff was made in a cave with a bunch of scraps
