The Eels and E are a fabulous secret. Whenever I mention I love them, I either get "I've never heard of them" or "MY GOD!!! I LOVE THEM" as a response. Hahaha... Not too many hit singles because they are fantastically and brilliantly honest. Thanks to E. He retains so much integrity and so does whichever band he plays with. Thanks, guys, for beautiful, soft, bummer rock... Lots of people who've suffered desperate loss in their lives relate to every song you write and play. X

Je vous connais grâce à Shrek, avec la musique "I Need Some Sleep". Quand j’étais petite je n'y prêtais pas attention, mais je l'ai revu il y'a peu et j'ai donc cherché la musique qui me plaisait tant. We really need you. I was dying of alcoholic cirrhosis 3 years ago and got a transplant. You touched me deeply at that time. Not sure I would have lived without you.
You are my friend when I need one. Keep doing what you do as well as you can. We understand, because you understand.

I bought this on vinyl not to be a hipster but to get the MP3 download that came with it. Cracking album none the less

Das Leben hat es mit Mark Oliver Everett nicht immer gut gemeint. Bereits mit 19 Jahren fand er seinen Vater tot im Bett auf. Ein Erlebnis welches Ihn und seine Musik geprägt hat. Mit The Deconstrucion liegt mittlerweile sein 12. Studioalbum vor. Für 22 Jahre nach seinem ersten Album Beautiful Freak kein schlechter Output. Und mit diesem Album ist E wieder ganz grosses Kino gelungen. Denn läuft das Leben mal wieder schlimm Today is The Day richtet Dich wieder auf mit seinem fröhlichen Pop. Auch Rusty Pipes läßt das Tal der Tränen hinter Dir. Doch zuviel Fröhlichkeit steht E. nicht. Clever werden hier Balladen als Kontraste wie Be Hurt gesetzt. Höhepunkt ist zweifelsfrei You Are The Shining Light.
