You're living the life, brother
You can feel this in the bones it’s so clean. Brilliant sound engineering. Perfection. Magic drumming.
There's one stand out talent on the instruments they're playing here and it isn't the drummer.
@@pavelkolacek4447 Much of what you're arguing I agree with, but the specific point I'm making isn't nonsense. It's possible this particular song was written to focus on the talents of lead guitar, but I doubt it. This is a very long song with plenty of time to let the other instruments shine, so it's highly likely written with their relative capabilities in mind. Although the bass guitar and drums are well executed, there's no demonstration of special acuity. I've been a drummer since the age of 10 and there's nothing I couldn't do by my second year.
The guy playing lead guitar is notably talented. Anyone who understands instrumental prowess beyond a layman's perspective will recognize this.

i simply love how their voices aren't used to overshadow their other talents. it's like the vocals are an extension of their instruments meant only to complement and enhance.

white gloves might just be in my top 10 favorite songs of all time... so beautiful, so dreamy.
I was watching a coachella stream this year and Oh Boy, i haven’t been that mesmerised in years. So so happy i discovered this band.
The first time i heard Khruangbin was on a Late Night Tales mix. I was in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I had been there for a year, and had to move back to the US. I put on my headphones and went for one last motorcycle ride through the city, I had never ridden with headphones on before. "A Calf Born in Winter" came on, I joined the flow of constant scooter traffic and took in the beauty of that vibrant, vibrating city one last time, and I cried. It was purely coincidence that it was that song, by a band who's name means "Engine Fly" in Thai, and who were heavily influenced by Thai funk, was my soundtrack for that final ride. I'll never forget it, one of the most bittersweet moments of my life. This band is really something special.
That sounds amazing. We learn to cherish those moments
Dustin, my final night in Thailand, I felt the same way. Of course when I took my last scooter ride, if I had heard this music, I might not have left....lol
Good to hear you had some great times in Thailand. By the way, Khruang-bin, word by word , does mean engine-fly like you mentioned. But to clarify it, it actually means airplane. Sort of like butterfly doesn't mean flying butter. PS. That is one of my favourite songs as well.

Khruangbin
Laura Lee (Bass)
Mark Speer (Guitarist)
Donald "DJ" Johnson (Drummer)
They deserve to be a legend in human history
*Edit
Laura Lee (Bass)
Mark Speer (Guitarist)
God (Drummer)
Theyre already legends
I approve this message.
seems kinda pretentious hipstery appropriation to me but whatever
Nice Sound! Needs a little more volume on the vocals. Very smooth!
Oh man! This live session was always played in the car when I used to bring my mom to get her chemeos two hours away from my Hometown to Guatemala city.
It helped me to focus driving.
It helped me to understand the situation.
It helps me to think about good things about life and her.
Now that I know that momma is not going to survive, the songs come to me over and over searching my very deep sorrows.
But these songs will remind me cherish moments like when I saw the band in Vancouver with my partner right before I came over to see her.
Thank you for your music Khruanbin!
Bests wishes and blessings from Guatemala!
Sorry to hear about your mom. Must be difficult times. Stay strong!
@@gktv1521 thank you ! 🙏🙏🙏
@@jonattan08mendoza we are all praying for you and your mother 💌
Good vibrations to you man !!!
Well wishes brother..this got me through some ish as well
Lee sings like a cool summer breeze on a hot humid night. Such a great band. Its gets in your soul and its nothing over the top
This music is what inspired me to get back into electric guitar! 😍
The drummer was never even a millisecond offbeat
That’s why he always looks so serious lol. Can’t break that concentration
lol i laughed so hard after reading this and you check the drummer out funny! good one
You mean the drumming robot? The dude is a living metronome, amazing!
@@desligaocapslock Robot but with "feel" and "soul" ;)
He's good and all but the drum kit and engineering is so bare and boring. This band sounds much better in the studio full of filters.
so you're a middle-eastern inspired surfer-rock infused flamenco-laden psychedelic jam band
simple enough
@Musica Fidelitas I think we can all agree that this is basically *Quentin Tarantino: The Band*
@Musica Fidelitas The name 'Kruang Bin' means aeroplane in Thai.
@Musica Fidelitas There's those too, but I swear I can hear Turkish music in there too on occasion. It's like they found the things all those different music styles have in common and married them together into something new that's still famiar to half the planet lol.
@@Posit_Zero_Blue agreed. I hear 70s turkish action movie soundtracks
Spot on!
