I see what you did there 😋
Thank you Jackson Miller. In my Prophetic self I use probabilities. I also use Murphys Law...Nothing does not exist. We have pi. Great short. I am IATSE 800. Editing
"...Luma Corp is always by your side"- Luma Corp official. Isn't that Orwellian?
Sad, what happened to Edmond. Was that a painting of his wife?
What an interesting, albeit, weird concept.
Turn Bluetooth Speaker 🔈 up ⬆️ for great 👍 sound effects and great 👍 storyline and characters including actors and actresses to and CGI art . Found this channel by watching some of the previous videos. I hope we don’t go this route but we need to change to. The quality of videos reminds me of 90’s tv Live Star Gate and Star Trek Deep Space 9 . Be looking forward to to the next video. 👍
I fail to understand how they extract all colors and yet the logo of the corporation itself has colors
Watching Dust is just like a never ending tease of interesting stories you want to see the rest of, but never can! 😂
Yeah .. what's up with that! LOL
@@RayRand "Proof of concept" is the currency of the future...
It's an example of an unfulfilled ending. This type of writing is to inspire creativity in the observer. It's up to you to create the ending. It is brilliant.
indeed and then you look what actually gets made ugh.
@@TheNobodyZone That is a literary motif, yes, exemplified by "The Lady Or The Tiger" which most of us are familiar with, but in the current film world what is far more often seen is the less noble "proof of concept" film, wgich is merely an incomplete story produced for the sole purpose of atrempting to procure funds for a full-length complete work. These short audiovisual pitches often look fantastic and thus people think they want to see them, but they are *not* completed works and the odds are slim that they ever will be, so the best way to describe them will always be "a disappointment',
The opposite of courage is conformity. - Earl Nightingale
Excellent short. Brilliantly done by everyone. I’m always astonished by the level of talent and craft put into the short films I find on Dust. Fantastic.
When my son was little, my mom was watching a show she used to watch when she was younger. It was in Black and White. All of a sudden he said "What was it like living when everything was black and white? It must've been so boring." He thought that's what the world was like. 😄
When my younger sister was about 4 years old, she asked our father, "Did they have TV's back when you were alive?".
LOL, outta the mouths of babes!
To be honest, when I was young and I saw the Nick @ Night 1960's black & white shows, I used to think the world had no color at one time, as well.
Ever seen an old black-and-white movie, then watched it again after it has been colourised? The effect can be startling and you can see why kids might think the whole world used to be B&W.
I used to ask my mother about "the black and white days" when I was a tyke..lol.. it was a family joke when I got older🤓
It in a way reminds me of Equilibrium (which I find to be a quite underrated movie), but instead of feelings it's colors. But colors, especially in art, are so evocative that I could see the lack of it felt so strongly. As an artist myself I'd feel incredibly bereft and that scene with the painter holding the desaturated picture is so heartbreaking. I would've loved to see a whole movie about this and the character development of Dan and his journey forward. Probably one of my favorite shorts in quite a while!
Equilibrium was a badass movie. This short reminded me of that movie as well.
@@minamayes1529 the movie still holds up today. I need more Christian Bale in sci-fi movies because of Equilibrium.
@@henrytilley4721 I know right! I agree.
I was getting Equlibrium vibes from the beginning, especially when Dan was using the pastels. That movie is criminally underrated... Would love to see a sequel made someday!!
@@earlware4322 I agree with you. It's one of the best films I've seen in recent years.
Good. Those who are willing to put down their freedoms in return for safety and comfort lose what it is that makes us human. Conformity stifles creativity.
When the people choose bread between bread and freedom, they eventually lose everything, including bread. If the people choose freedom, they will have bread grown by themselves and not taken away by anyone.

Tell the SJWs that. The people who REEEEE because words they don't like are used.
This is a total masterpiece. Beautiful, exciting. A sequel would be really nice.
Prism realized that ou right blood is colored red and started to collect blood as color payment, until in increasing power needs started to kidnap highest debtors to be sucked dry...
That was even more dystopian than I was expecting.
Polydystopian?
Ooh please let there be a part 2..... please!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Jackson Miller and his colorful team. Outstanding performances, sound effects, sci-fi...
All colors will agree in the dark.

Well done version of an old story. I remember this story from years ago, but this seems like an updated adaptation.
Kinda reminded me of the old movie The Spirit of 76 until people started dying. Good Film.
@aDBo'Ch 1 I was thinking the same. Instead of a Fireman, a Colorman?
So… what was the story it reminds you of. I can the of several.
@aDBo'Ch 1 i was thinking of fahrenheit 451 too
@@jtoombs56 cant remember but it feels very familiar.
Amazed in how they always know how to control others even though themselves cant controll themselves. Hard to saturate this phrase
Where's Rainbow Brite when you need her? lol This was great! I'd love to see this as a series.

Interesting concept and excellent execution. Although I almost wish it could've ended with him using the crayons to spread color on the walls and everywhere before submitting to the prisms. A futile gesture perhaps, but a symbolic one.
I thought for a moment that maybe he'd do something with the blood....
@@privatemale27 Oh, that will be taken care of! In fact, that makes for quite a plot hole/missed opportunity -- if color is so valuable and the humon body continually produces more inside itself... well, you can figure out the rest! Clearly, for this concept to work the insides of things with color removed must be b&w like the outsides.
One of these times where you think "wow this is really an idea that I haven't seen before". That colorless future was something new.
Only mistake is revealed at the end, by the movie itself, but doesn't really change the verdict about the movie. The painter could pay with the color of his blood.
This is the kind of movies that bring viewers back to DUST.
Excellent! Well acted and believable. This needs additional chapters. Could be a feature movie.
First time I ever thought a Paint Ball Gun could make a difference...
The Constitutional lessons are clear for those that are listening. Thx Dust.
I am indian 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 . Iknow little knowledge of English but isaw your all episodes . Your cinmetography is next levels and audio and visual effects are next level . Your all episodes are very fabulous many episodes iwatch 2 to 3 times if anybody can watch your episodes he or she will definitely die hard fan of your episodes . Thanks again
I would love to see that as a movie. It has great potential in it!. Thank you for that.
My son is on the autism spectrum. This story touches strong with me. The world wants him to be something that he isn't. I'm ashamed to say that sometimes I've wished that too. But he a color, a rhythm, a path that's different from others. It's beautiful and scary to me all at once. This story reminds me not to stomp out that color. He is, and will always be, my beautiful baby boy! I love you, Clive.
Excellent short! Very original premise as well, color as power and currency.
I could not live in a world without color!
'fossil fuels exhausted'
'SO MUCH POLLUTION'
I lasted 15 seconds.
Certified Gold!!!!!
I''m an artist but I can't get over that it takes more energy to run around in those machines as well as the extractors so that I can't imagine that the colors off set the cost. What happens when all the colors are gone? Are they going to zap the people themselves? Where is the giant glass prism's that will make a rainbow of color?
The physics major in me just kept yelling
"That's not how energy works."
The film work is great. Definitely some Equilibrium feels going on here. The premise doesn't hold up well; growing flowers seems to completely solve the power issue without all the conflict.
A unique take on the "usual" story of authoritarian corporatocracy, expressed via the lumen-industrial complex. Remarkably well done into a 15 min short. It seems I may have seen this before, many months ago, but that's OK, doesn't detract from the quality of the production. Somewhat reminds me of the film "Equilibrium", only there it was the enforced suppression of passion and emotion. Harvesting color for energy . . . definitely a different avenue, this could have been made into a feature length film or a series.
So, energy from colour. That would be unlimited energy from the blue sky above!
Hey let's willingly give up all of our agency for the sake of what we think is security!
Thanks for a very deep and VERY artistic perspective on subjugation. Thank you for giving a voice to those who cried out over the years to be seen and heard, simply by being artists.
Please make this Big Brother episode a sequel. Yes, that good.
One of the best films on here

That sounds like a good opener for Metal song

Really enjoyed this short clip. pulled me in and kept me on edge, the amount of detail placed into the characters was extraordinary! Keep up the great work, hope to see more from you in the future.
This vid drew me into that world like few other vids have lately. Brilliant. Thank you. That acting was heartfelt and believable. Well done.
It's called suspension of belief.
@@devinmartin3324 Suspension of disbelief. The disbelief is what's being suspended so one may fully believe what they're watching.
@@JimGriffOne Yes , you have some comprehension skills. That is a rarity.
This is excellent
Dystopian society's only serve the rich and powerful and take away from the less privileged your film is a warning of the future to come or the present world thats already here very good short film excellent production dust delivers again ❤
😅😂🤣 Great concept, loved the intro. "Pay your color tax -- Keep our city shining!"
Great short.
Was watching "Shaman" episode. This is where all the good t.v. shows are hiding.
Edit: a reference to "there's never anything on t.v.
The creators of this video definitely watched Equilibrium.
It seems every corporation is evil no matter what they say about themselves.
Brilliant. Great Thanks
The technological advancement concepts were very creative and the fact that this episode shows what government can do when we rely on them was undoubtedly a fantastic feature
The irony is that this isn't a government in the video; it's a corporation.
This a Cyberpunk setting with corporatocracy. This is not a warning against "Big Democracy", it's a warning against corporations.
It has taken me a long time to reply to you I'm sorry about that and I now see what you mean I don't think the government should be too big but I have come to the understanding that corporations are much worse in the long run and democracy promotes freedom other than that this was an amazing cyberpunk short film.
Good to see everyone is paying their fair share.
This is an amazing concept! LOVED IT!
Home run right there. Impressive.
This was the most heartbreaking story yet. But I loved the boss's computer.
I loved the boss's gorgeous eyes.
Yeah, that model is in concept stage at Apple as we speak. Can't wait for its release in 2029.
Excellent story line, would love to have seen how this young man goes about eluding his employer to bring colour back to the World 🌎 !!
Cool!
Fahrenheit 451. New version.
In the footsteps of the series: Black Mirrors , great
Extremely well done! You had me in tears when the picture was desaturated.
It was clear neither one wanted to destroy the color, too. Very sad.
Nice! I was really hoping he's smear some red onto the bench before it ended.
Excelente trabalho, DUST.
What kind of mind thought this up? Amazing! What a concept. Much deeper than it appears. Great acting and cinematography. Just... Wowza!
This short is fantastic! Quite a dreary thought though.... A life without any color? AND a government executing control over it as well a the populace. I think the old tale is retold here, in a way that makes it exciting & feels new. Great work.
Government? No. Corporation.
@@kevinth66 There's almost no difference now.
This short kinda makes me lose IQ lol. Have they never heard of farming? if you can extract colour surely there is a way to manipulate and reproduce it, otherwise that would be a terrible idea.
Gotta love corporatocracy.
People will see this and make this commentary, yet draw no parallels to the last two years. Or even worse, condone it for the "greater good."
Good film! Is there a part 2?
"Dan Warner, please submit. Do not attempt to flee." 🏃🌈
I think that "Dust" is in the very top 5 of Sci-Fi creators there is.. I love everything he has done especially his time travel.. Thanks Dust..
Dust isn't a creator
I wouldn't be surprised if Murky Dismal from Rainbow Land was CEO of LUMA CORP. Seems right up his alley.
Awesome
absolutely excellent plot with the colors
I love life and myself
These are the kinds of movies that SHOULD be in theaters!! NOT the crap that's there now!
Closer to reality for some on this earth.
this one was a good one. I notice a lot of the new stuff is exploring emotions that arent realy story driven, they are the story. This was the right mix. This isnt an episode of friends, its sci-fi
Woah. Excellent work!!!
Reminds me of what is happening in Canada now more than ever.!
That was very well done... I'm an artist so it really hit home with me.
Why do I remember watching this video the first time I lived this exact life
It's not about making energy from color; it's about total control of a population like Klaus Schwab and his WEF would have. If it were about having enough color to produce the desired amount of energy, it could be obtained from a renewable source such as cultivating enough flowers to do the trick.
If we not watch out that can become our future!
Impressive film. I dig it. Extremely well done. Intriguing & intense. Imaginative. I really like the way he chose to fight the power.
I wrote a short story in 2009 about this concept. Every artist's nightmare.
The costume department was clearly a fan of Ghostbusters.
Like these times even in the future if you have something worth anything some company will form to take it from you. Kind of takes the cllor out of life too.
Amazing short film. Wow
A very well thought new version of Farhenheit 451. Clever play with colours.
Brilliant short, the whole color thing is very intriging and needs a back story it left me with wanting more, please.
THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING THATS WHAT THE FUTURE LOOKS LIKE IN REAL LIFE
Neat idea! Nice acting. Waiting for more.
Good one. 2 👍👍
Well done. It held my attention throughout. Thank you.
Imagine that, a world of Horror for Hipsters and the "why isn't this movie in color?" crowd.;)
I got strong Equilibrium vibes from this. Great work!
Cool!
Nice movie... so many ideas in my mind how it could works for a longer story.
I've seen a "version" of this before. Perhaps it was a precursor to this but it was years ago.
Very good - Don't get me wrong - But I've definitely seen something EXTREMELY akin to this before.... Strange...
Pretty much exactly what my job felt like before I resigned
Wow, this was awesome. I think this could be a great movie. What a great job all across the board. 😊
Ok I'm ready for part 2 😊
LOVED it!
Sequel! Please?
Don’t let me hang like that…
Well done 👍🏻
If one can get energy from the colour of flowers then just grow flowers.
Excellent. I really enjoyed that.
The premise is a bit absurd but the acting and execution are really excellent.
My brain "what happens to dan next?"
Fantastic story.
Prism was pretty good!! When is the sequel comin out? Cant leave us hanging!!😁😁
