I also lost one of my gerbils recently due to heart problems and it's so painful to see them go... But we have to think that they had a happy life. I send you a hug, you're great!

I am so sorry for your loss. If it is any consolation, if even a small one, they really did make a difference for a lot of their kind. Your videos were the start of my gerbil education journey, as I am sure they are for many others. My gerbils are living in a big tank, with a big topper, deep bedding, a lot of enrichment, big wheels, sand bath, and so on - and they (and those of other gerbil owners I have been educating since) owe it all to you and your little baby chickens ❤

I'm so sorry, Lemon and Almond were so bright and clearly very happy and loved. I've cared for 11 gerbils throughout my life and it's devastating every time we part ways. Beanie is very lucky to have you and I'm sure will continue to enjoy your bond. You've experienced a lot of loss in a short period of time, be gentle with yourself and I hope you can prioritize rest. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our gerbil Sugar died a few days ago, so I completely understand your pain. At least you can have the comfort that you gave your gerbils the best life possible, and you inspired so many people (including me). Thank you for everything

(First I want to apologize for the length of this comment but…) My gerbils just celebrated their 2nd birthday on June 28 and I’m scared now just knowing that they’re getting older with a life span of 2-4 years. I have 3 gerbils Stella, Rosa, and Cora. We had 4 and her name was Minnie and she was my favorite because I named her and picked her out and held her all the time and she was like a human because she didn’t act like the others and she was the sweetest pet I’ve ever had. She was so fluffy. She reminded me of a brown Siamese cat because of her beautiful colors. But an accident accrued where she passed away. And I beat myself about about it whenever I think about it bc Ik it was all my fault cause I was stupid to let something so fragile and innocent live such a short life. I always have dreams about her now and occasionally wake up crying bc I think about how I will nvr be able to hold her and talk to her after a bad day at school like an emotional support animal. Now, Rosa (the Alfa) and Cora fight a lot and Cora usually sleeps alone and not with Stella and Rosa. Minnie and Cora used to hang out like best friends and cuddle and groom each other and Stella and Rosa used to be (and still r) best friends and do everything together. Now I feel like cause Cora’s bestie has passed she has been morning and biting more. Idk but I rlly miss her. I feel like when the queen fell the kingdom fell and nvr got back up. They’ve had wounds from fights and a lot goes wrong. Stella is the Angel tho and she nvr fights, she’s super sweet, and she’s very pretty and looks just like your gerbils. I’m happy she’s now the alpha bc things have gone better bc Cora doesn’t fight her for her place sense she is more easy going and calm and laid back.

@@finsandwhiskers oh there's no need to apologise, these things happen, my Timon passed away very suddenly too this time last year 😔 one thing that's helped me is actually my channel, because in those videos where they featured, they're still very much alive, to everyone that watches those videos they continue to live on, in this instance being a content creator can be an incredible gift, because our dearly beloved pets get to live on forever in the hearts and minds of those that watch them, and continuing to help other gerbils just like them long into the future. Lemon and Almond have left an amazing mark on literally thousands of people and gerbils, and that's so incredibly special, I hope that thought can bring you some comfort as it did me 💚
@@PetConnectionInternational it really does help. I made my channel because I love talking about these pets and I didn’t have friends around to share this experience with! Knowing that others knew Lemon and Almond makes me feel like a very proud parent perhaps showing off their kids talents in any situation 😂

No, gerbils should not be bathed. You can include a sand dish for them so they can clean themselves (I have a video on my gerbil care playlist with options), but never with water. Gerbils groom themselves
