Do you understand how licensing works? Warner Bros owns the original elements depicted in their version of Gollum (the voice, specific movie-only mannerisms, whatever). This is not Warner Bro's Gollum, and legally it could not be. The game was bad, but come on dude use your brain lol.

I have to admit-the voice of the Mouth Of Sauron is literally the only good thing in this game. His voice is so smooth and relaxing yet sinister and evil.
I personally also found his design interesting, even though the mouth part is very obvious
I mean his teeth collar is pretty cool too
He's still a worse design than the movie's version in EVERY conceivable way.

Also, ripping off Rocksteady's Batman Arkham combat and gameplay doesn't make it "good gameplay". Do you know it is "shit"? Have you played it? Or are you just regurgitating what you see on the internet? That seems to be a common thread in virtually all media and entertainment these days: letting other people think and judge things for you instead of judging things yourself. Which even then that is going to be subjective.
Peter Jacksons lord of the rings stands alone because of the passion that was within the project. I truly believe now there is no level that will reach that..
It doesn't stand alone because the movies from 1977 and 1978 were both very soulful.
This game had the ideas, it just was poorly executed. But no one should be lynched because of it. Nintendo releases unfinished games all the time and get away with it.

@@valder8423 I think presently we are in an age of entitlement. Audiences believe they have an infallible stake in franchises and that supercedes something like passion or support. And they believe that they are to be provided for as a consumer. That's not how art and entertainment works and these myopic fanatics don't understand that. There's such a thing as criticism. I'm all for it. But when the driving animating force of that criticism is preconceived notions of hate and anger over the fact that it wasn't "something they asked for". It automatically becomes invalid.

When people imagine LOTR they don’t imagine these weird af outfits with bizarre armour, they imagine the films, or the books, which is pretty much mail because it’s a story heavily inspired by Northern European myths and stories. If we consider lore accuracy, then the films are the best when it comes to representation, not being too fantasy while clearly being fantastical.
The Mouth Of Sauron in the films in menacing and creepy, this one just looks weird.
This is the most detailed DS game I've seen, truly a marvel how they did it.
It's okay. We still have Shadow Of Mordor and the OG games.

This is incredibly fascinating as an artistic take. I think in some weird way it's incredibly faithful to the books - the way you've got these robed officials in Barad Dur plotting and scheming on behalf of the Dark Lord. It reminds me of the descriptions of Barad Dur in the books having all these, "courts and chambers." But for what? There were lots of interesting hints that the upper machinery of the Dark Lord's dominions were very sophisticated.
The Mouth of Sauron is genuinely amazing. You've got the Nine in sedate robes and armor, and then the Mouth shows up with this giant jaw-collar thing like some bizarre pseudo-cenobite. Sauron must be giggling whenever he sees the poor bugger.
Doesn’t make up for the game being poorly made, im glad this small detail was able to connect to what you’ve read, but this is an unfinished product that is being sold to people for so much money. So out of respect to the people that were scammed into buying this and for Tolkien’s work, don’t let yourself be scammed by this terrible game,

One good note on this game is that, atleast it was faithful to the books and timeline of LOTR. With the exception of making Sauron the eye (if they didnt do that, it would of been amazing lore wise). Gollum did get imprisoned in Mordor by Sauron and his telling of the Shire and Baggins is what started the War of the Rings. He was personally allowed to live by Sauron because Sauron, being a Maia, felt Gollum had a part to play in the world. He was caught by Aragorn and then sent to Mirkwood and from there escaped and got lost in Moria, where he would then meet the fellowship as we see in the movies and book. Overall, they did a good job at making their story not interfere with pre-existing lore of Tolkien's world. Unfortunately the story sucked but nevertheless points where they're due!

I sincerely have dreamed for years to know the social infrastructure of Barad-dûr inside, I have read and studied a lot on the subject from different sources. Removing the details of this unfinished game at a high price, I really liked the first part, I hope I have more of this, a series or something, life inside the Dark Tower is so difficult, subject to so many supposed allies who only want to rise through you, so many religious politicians protecting the interests of the dark lord.

Ummm. No this was from fellowship of the ring. Gandalf talks about it. Read the book. Afterwords Strider and handle spend a couple of years looking for Gollum to learn about the ring after Frodo takes possession of it.

The only thing that's poorly designed in this game is Gollum. All the other characters like Candle Man and Mouth could have be used to great effect, but everything is just dragged down by gollum.

I always imagined Mordor as being totally chaotic and squalid, and pretty much hell-like. But here we have these eloquent dudes Mr Mouth, Candle Man and "Wizard" politely discussing events in front of what appears to be a scale model of some potential battle zone. The beetle bits were oddly cool and imaginative though.

This game is basically that game where you run around as a monkey whatever it’s called. Wtf are they thinking all this potential and we get a gollum game and a dwarf sims game that is coming wtf. Shadow of war is great even if it’s not entirely accurate apparently it’s entertaining . I’m glad I found that game.

There is little to no physical description of the Mouth of Sauron so Peter Jackson took a lot of creative departures. He even considered making the Mouth of Sauron a woman at one point. The Mouth of Sauron is basically an emissary. Hence the title "Mouth", I hardly think nor see the need for other titles based on appendages.
