Bring back open court
definitely do i miss that show
With EJ
4 real
And pls don't put any WNBA or women analyst in that show
doubt it, the podcast world killed shows like open court
The greatest thing that came out from this All-Star weekend TBH
I absolutely love this interview, but I’m from Naptown and I went on Saturday night and it was great!! My son and I had a blast!! Didn’t get to go on Sunday but I will say Saturday night was better than this interview.
💯
True but SAS made 17 out of 17.
@@faubourglincoln 🤷♂️🤷♂️
It’s less exciting for TV viewers but I’m sure the experience with your son and getting to see a bunch of top tier players have fun was crazy. I’ve always wanted to go to one
Larry had nothing but love in this whole 50-minute chat. What an amazing human being.
I'd say they ALL came out looking pretty classy in this conversation...
Out of every NBA store, I’ve heard speak Larry Bird has an amazing way with words, just straight classy
All of them did. Not just Larry
And he comes off as completely honest, unafraid of saying the wrong thing. I know on you tube at least it's the in thing to hate Isaiah, but he was a much better player than he gets credit for. I'm glad for the opportunity to watch all.these guys, I was a magic Johnson fan from well even before college. I read about this high school kid who was 6-9 playing guard , the first time I saw him play , I was in love. Here where l live everyone was a larry bird fan Celtics, so I seemed to always stand alone. Great days.
I would agree one hundred percent. This gentleman is how you conduct yourself.
This was roughly four thousand times more entertaining than the entire all star weakend.
only 4k? for me 4m
More people watched this.
infinitely better!
Good to know since I didn't watch all star game or any of the other events haha! By the way, the videos on the playlist on my channel might interest some people!
Somewhere between 4000-4019x more entertaining, yes.
Refreshing when they have NBA legends back. I really miss open court
When it comes to punk b*tches Isiah's definitely the most legendary.
For real. Never should have cancelled it in the first place
Man I miss open court.. I remember I used to listen to it and fall asleep peacefully. And pick right back up the next day where I remember leaving off. Good times
You and Chuck both. Love those shows.
Haha same! I listened to them episodes over and over again when I was going to sleep. They should bring it back!
I swear, I thought I was the only one that did that my wife knows episodes word for word
The podcast world is killing today era!! Not gonna happened
literally
Notice how when Larry was asked what he thought of Jokic he said that he would have loved to play against him, not with.
Different mentality
He said both, but he did say against first which definitely shows his mentality
And then there's LeFraud James who was so weak minded that he teamed up with two top 5 picks from his own draft class to win and stacked superteams everywhere he went.
@@thsu8 and he called himself goat too.... not one of the greatest players before had done that, even ones with huge ego like MJ
Boy Bron living in you hater suckas heads rent free😂😂😂😂😂😂😂@szmike
Much respect to Larry for squashing that controversy with Rodman/ Isiah. All he cared about was playing ball. Media is always trying to stir up stuff. Bird is a REAL man.
For real though, if even half of the current NBA players had the mindset about the game and how they approach it like these 3 did, the game would be in a much better place.
but it is telling that isiah has to "squash" beef with karl malone, magic johnson, larry bird, and I'm sure he'll be the first one to try to get MJ, which he will never get.
when media tried to promote Larry as The Great White Hope, Larry shut all of that down
Man. But if Isiah would've killed that noise in the moment, it might've changed so much of the narrative around him which kept him off the Dream Team. Refusing to kiss Jordan's ring contributed, too. But the Bird/racism thing really hurt Zeke's reputation.
@@giantkiller56 That entire thing in 1987 was said by Rodman ... that if Bird were black he'd just be considered another great/good player -- which is true because Rodman's commentary was about how the media depicted black players vs. Larry Bird, a white guy who is not supposed to be this good but if he were black, he'd get treated like just another great/good player...it's the truth but nobody explained it well and Bird wasn't even thinking like that and he knows and knew Isiah was being sarcastic and joking as if to say, 'yeah right...' but Thomas repeated what he was told Rodman said and instead of leaving Rodman out to dry and ruining Rodman's career, Isiah Thomas took on that baggage and was 'the bad guy' because he knew what the politics of the league were and he knew where Rodman came from and that could have destroyed Rodman's career so Thomas doesn't get credit for sticking up for his teammate....Bird didn't think much of it and neither did Thomas or Rodman, just the media trying to make something out of nothing...guess what? They still don't talk about how Bird made it public how he kept getting offended when a white guy was guarding him....Bird said that several times and yet nobody says anything negative about Bird and depicting stereotypes among white players -- which ultimately proves Rodman's point. HAHAHA!
Bird coming in talking about which one of you guys is coming in second is classic bird
LARRY DID THAT ALL THE TIME. HE WAS THAT GOOD.
8 points in 9 seconds, 25 pts in the 4th, the shot against the bulls in 98, the halfcourt shot vs. jersey in the playoffs, reggie had a lot of crazy career highlights...
That Nets game was crazy. I think that's the same game he punched on like the whole team with two hands.
@@chrismoseley349 yup indy was an 8 seed. pushed 1 seed NJ to the brink. overtime, final game of the series
Its a good thing Reggie's a media personality now so people don't forget him. One of those guys like Allen Iverson that get talked down on by people that didnt watch him play and just see the numbers and don't understand how impactful they were. Kids are going to look at Reggie Millers 18 points a game and think he was like an Aaron Gordon level player, but my god anyone that watched him knows they want their team to play anyone but Reggie Miller in the playoffs.
@@ericlytle2209 Reggie only averaged 12 shots a game for his career. 18 points on 12 shots is incredible. Think about this, the 2 greatest scorers of all time (by ppg) are wilt chamberlain and michael jordan. and they averaged 23 shots a game for their careers. even jordan admitted reggie and the pacers were the closest anybody came to taking them down during their 6 title run
@@frankcross6958That’s the ultimate respect that any plyr can get if they get that from the goat MJ yo 💯💯💯
We need Bird, Magic , Isiah and Kareem to sit down and have a conversation like this before the Captain passes! Legendary
Kareem is antisocial .
Oh my gosh, that would be dope! Get McHale on there too because he is so funny! And Dominique too.
Obviously you are referring to Kareem as the captain. I think it's Larry but that's not important. If u can get those together then I'm here for it.
Kareem is not anti-social anymore.
Showed how he had people shook throughout the year.. he’s jokin and everybody got scared and quiet
Always an honor to hear Larry Legend speak. One of the true GOATS of Basketball.
YOU GOT IT.
Forever the legend
They both were. Bad boys get no love.
The only human who won MVP, finals MVP, COY, Olympics champion and executive of the year. He literally mastered the sport, imo Bird is the greatest ever (and I am a Lakers fan, but really, there's no contest)
Larry’s story about Reggie and his wife 😂😂😂
So glad to see Larry Bird out on shows like this reliving his glory years. For a long time, we didn't get to see or hear from Larry who was such an important part of the NBA. Maybe MJ will start showing up and talking about his glory days while sharing stories we haven't heard. I'd love to see Larry Bird and Luka sit down and have a conversation about basketball. That would be epic!!
nah, MJ dont need that (he have Last Dance for it), Bird clearly needs to do it
and as much as i hate IT Pistons, i really wants to see a biography about Isiah
Luka is so shy he wouldn't say coherent sentence in front of so much greatness 😂
Mjs got too much drama
Luka have to win first Larry was a winner
Larry is very low-key and private.
That was dope. Reggie did a good job hosting, Isiah gone always be real (respect) and I love hearing Larry talk. Wish we heard from him more 💪💯😎
44:50 That smile told us everything we needed to know. Larry Bird is certified Jokic enjoyer. One of us!
Even though I've heard some of the stories many times I will always tune in to hear Larry Bird and Isiah Thomas tell stories.
Reggie's love and respect for them is also so amazing to see.
Same
Respect to Isiah for confronting Larry in a friendly honest way. I wish Larry would’ve agreed with him, but then he wouldn’t be Larry.
Move on IT
Larry and MJ have a similar mindset. MJ is way colder bec he will never sit in the same room with Isiah or Pippen
@@tyronevaldez-kruger5313 after the last dance, yea, but before that?i think MJ still okay sitting with Pip

Man, as an Indiana native and for the love of basketball I have. I just absolutely loved this so much. Reggie, Bird and Isaiah. I could listen to those guy's all day long. Regg, you didn't disappoint buddy. We were right there. We came so, so close. I love my Pacers and Larry Bird!!! The best coach/All-Time great player there is.
Excuse me? you are not a native of Indiana. And you will never be.
I’m from Houston. My first favorite player was Reggie, and loved the 90s and early 2000s pacers.
I've met Jalen Rose a few times and he absolutely loves Larry Bird, met him again in Vegas week of the Superbowl and he gave me the inside scoop of where to go to see Larry Bird at the All Star festivities and that it would be open to the public, unfortunately I wasn't able to go to Indy.
Bird elevated Rose to his best play of his career.
So great to see these guys talk hoops, especially Larry, he is such a Legend, I can listen to him talk Basketball for days.

More! More! More! These conversations between legends are always really entertaining.
Agreed. I would LOVE to see more of these!!!
Imagine being in a same room with one of the greatest shooters and one of the greatest point guards of all time, having over an hour discussion, and you hear constantly how the first one pattern his game of you, because you are one of his idols and the second one having such an admiration and respect for you, that he literally takes notes on your every possession and dreamed to be on your level. That's Larry Legend for you.
Open court has to come back and having bird with the crew would be a dream
Bird and / or Jordan will never be with the crew. They know that the less they put themselves out there the more people will want them.
@@rickbackous1041 Also, it's time for the younger generations to pick it up. Not sure which players of the 00s are capable of representing the Game the same way (apart from Shaq of course). It takes a lot of personality to openly discuss your flaws etc., too, no matter how good a player you were.
Perhaps Nowitzki, Gasol, Nash. LeBron for sure once he has retired. KG as a sidekick but he's too dominant to listen to for a longer period.
Melo and Wade like to talk but they try to push their own narratives too much, Crawford lacks charisma/storytelling. Maybe JJ Redick can.
Timmy D doesn't speak at all unfortunately 😀
This was really refreshing...These are 3 gentlemen right here you can feel the respect they have for each other
Well said 👏
This is why Larry Legend was simply the best ever. The man never cared what people thought. Honest.
I am so happy this interview was uploaded. I couldn't see the original broadcast and really wanted to see this. It was definitely worth seeing! Larry Bird is my favorite of all time. I could listen to stories about him, and told by him, all day. Reggie Miller is great, too. He has a way about him that is very likeable...and what a shooter he was, as well! Isiah Thomas was a great guard, and he tells very entertaining stories.
This was just awesome! ❤️
yeah, watching his highlights make me wish I was rooting for the Pacers more.
It was very fun to watch, thank you Reggie, Larry and IT, and TNT to make it happen.
Now this is a legendary conversation right here
I teared up just watching this episode...Reggie, isiah and Larry. Once.... they were KINGS. Great video... keep rockin.
Makes my day.Anytime I see new content with Bird.when this era of basketball was over I didn't follow it like I did in the 80s and 90s.even to this day I don't think the nba has ever been this great.I mean it didn't matter if u were a fan of isaih or bird or jordan or magic, you watched every game,it was that good.
This was such a treat to hear & see these legends chatting, like no time has passed.....I really miss 80's & 90's basketball ❤❤❤

Isiah
Whether it's a podcast, interview or commentary, I always appreciate it when Reggie is a part of it. He's such a humble, charismatic, laid back dude with a great sense of humour.
YOU SEE WHY BIRD IS AN LEGEND. EVERYONE WHO DIDN'T WATCH HIM PLAY, MISSED OUT! HE WAS SO AWESOME. 🤩
I was a baby wen larry legend played an he was my fav 3 point shooter real tlk
Agree
Larry Bird is the best basketball player in the NBA history.
I always enjoy listening stories like Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Isiah Thomas so informative and funny stories.
Refreshing to have guys sitting and just having a normal conversation and not yelling like children.

Awesome! I got chills just watching Larry's highlight.. He was a Baaaad Maaaan in his Day, and I witnessed it.. "Long Live Larry Legend"
This way better than the all star game
I think they should replace the all star game with 3 different sit downs of former players. I used to take the weekend off just for the all star weekend festivities. Now I dont even bother. Its just gonna be 40 ft shots and dunks. But I do watch the highlights.
@@missayawk hahahah Yeah i stopped watching it a long time ago too.
I think the thing that shines through more than anything in this is how much of a competitor Larry is, not just was, but still is. The reaction when Reggie said Jokic's name, you could tell Larry has had some thoughts about playing against him more than once. The man has (fully deserved) supreme confidence but doesn't do it in an arrogant or boisterous way, even when talking about the firing of Isiah there is no second guessing or doubts, he is just confident he made the right choice.
It's that extra bit of difference that makes true champions like Larry, Magic, MJ and Bill Russell.
Reggie’s has always been one of my favorite. I didn’t get a chance to watch the other two play. Only CZcams highlights. But to me all three are legends to the game no doubt
I saw the other two play but Reggie was from their era so he brought the heat. Reggie was amazing
Man, this made me miss Open Court SO MUCH. There's so much magic in watching a couple of OGs on couches telling stories like this.
Just lovely! Reggie is a very good host, Bird and Isiah feel genuine, real. Just lovely!
The Hick from French Lick was my OG basketball idol, my childhood hero. ☝🐐🍀
Me too. Used to cry when he lost lol
HE IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PLAYERS! ALWAYS GREAT TO SEE HIM.
The dude is a basketball God, won everything (literally, inside and out of the court). I grew up watching Kobe and Shaq, but as a adult, looking at the sport itself, gotta admit Larry Bird is the greatest ever, no one else gets even close
When i saw Larry Bird shot form i said yes finally im not the only 1 who does that 😂😂😂 thank you
Larry just stares off into oblivion when Reggie and Isaiah are talking 😂😂😂

It's so great to hear from Larry Legend! We rarely hear from him these days, hope we can hear more from him about his views on today's NBA.
You see more heart and hustle in this video than the last 20 years of NBA
More heart in Bird's concussion game and Isiah's sprained ankle game than LeBron's entire career.
I concur
@@thsu8 which reminds me of the likes of Dwayne or Davis leaving court on wheelchair....

Love these shows with the GREAT older players! That was when the NBA was fun to watch! IMHO, the 3 point game took the fun out of the game for me. They say Steph changed the game. He sure did but not in a positive way for my taste. Take me back to the way Bird & Magic & Jordan & I. Thomas used to play…. now that was fun to watch!!! Great interview gentlemen!🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'M ALL WITH YOU ON THAT!
facts, that and load management...
Outstanding to watch! Brought back excellent memories! Those that never got a chance to see Larry Bird play words, can’t describe how great he truly was! His heart, indomitable will, clutch, made up for his lack of skill compared to others but he truly goes down to me as the greatest small forward of all time!
I was arguing with a young hooper who claimed Bird is not as skilled as Luka therefore Luka is a superior player, and I couldn't quite explain why Bird is 5 to 10 times better than Luka as a player but I made it clear he was. I also rank him above LeBron but not Jordan overall. But #1 SF of all time definitely. For me Jordan, Bird, Kobe and even Isaiah have this insane mental toughness and will to win that it bothers me is missing from LBJ when people try to label him GOAT.
Love you Larry. Glad to see you well. Your highlights and stories are best.

Saturday NBA was heaven for me as a kid. Watched a lot of Bird because the Celtics as you know were always on. Bird cam back from his back injury one game and did this amazing one-handed putback jam. That was a first seeing him do that. With some thunder to it. That was it for him. The dunk was like this great phoenix rising for one last dunk.

This was awesome!! Grew up a C’s fan and bleed green. I loved watching Isiah play cuz I was small and showed me that you can play small and still impact the game. The PG at that time ran the show!
