    Although thick foam looks good, it does not mean the runnier foam is not doing it's job. After all isn't the job of the foam, to encapsulate the dirt and bring it down. Thus having a better contact wash, with less dirt on the vehicle. 🤔
    Great series on the different soaps, will continue watching 👀 to see who is the winner, thanks for taking the time to do this Josh.👏👍

    I love the fact that you are giving the price point most just give which one is the best without knowing price. And with the prices for everything being what they are saving money on a product that is close to the more expensive one but is less expensive may work for more budgets. Keep up the good work.

    So I used CarPro Rest for the first time today, it’s been sitting in my garage since I’ve bought it being I’ve been using Koch Chemie GSF to maintain my car (I’m in the Central Valley, not to far from SD). CarPro Rest is pretty awesome! Definitely get a “cleaner” wash it seems & feels. Will definitely be my go to with GSF for my bucket wash, or vice versa.
    Like you said, not a rich lather of foam as some (GSF as an example) so I added a little more & seemed to thicken it up. I added 3oz to 800ml.

    1.
    I did notice a significant difference when I used warmer water. I think I remember Chemical guys actually put that in the instructions I believe.
    2.
    Isn’t it going to run down faster the cleaner it gets or if there is more wax products in the previous soaps?
    Or is the run down faster mean it’s cleaning fast ?
    Does the foam stay on longer if it’s dirtier?

If I doing a full maintenance wash on a uncoated ceramic car, I use whatever car shampoo I am using at the time, usually a non PH soap. If car has ceramic coating I use my non PH Soap along with a ceramic infused ceramic wash/wax soap, don't over complicate it. You can find very good non PH soaps for under $20.00 for a gallon. It’s amazing how few people know how to wash a car. 1. You don’t start by rinsing a car w water. Rather, You lather is w soap. 2.) you don’t spend time washing soap off. You simply wet the car and move. Allow water to break down the foam/suds… and come back to rinse! Not rinse from top to bottom. All you did was waste water/time!

      Yep, that's what it comes with. It's a nice cannon at a good price if you have a Menard's close. It's one of the few (TBH I haven't found another one yet) that has ounce measurements on the bottle and they are fairly accurate too. It's defiantly worth the sub $30.00 dollar price I think.

  • @TheTommyOhh
    @TheTommyOhh Před 2 lety

    I think you mean you'll keep things consistent, not fair. Fair, to me, is using as directed, that is, as it is intended. Not doing so changes the results. For example should less product be used it may not foam enough.

  • @mkygod
    @mkygod Před 2 lety +1

    Would love if you could show practical results instead of superficial foaming results. The amount of foaming doesn't matter that much if you can't visually demonstrate what it's doing to the surface (encapsulating dirt). Until you can show this, these foaming tests are only hypothetical in terms of how much dirt each one can remove.
    I would do a test like this: on the back of the car where it tends to get really dirty, tape it in half. Then spray one side with one foam and the other side with another foam. Allow a few mins to dwell and rinse both off. Then take one swipe with a microfiber towel soaked in rinseless wash on each side and check the towel to visually see how much dirt is left on the surface. I would also try this with no foam on one side (rince only) vs another with the foam side. Or compare with one side with a foam gun vs the other side with a foam cannon.

    Price per ounce isn't really a good comparison. If that Reset stuff is so highly concentrated, it may end up being cheaper per usable diluted ounce. So we've have to multiply the ounces in the bottle by it's dilution factor ( think he said 500:1) and then use that number of ounces to calculate price per ounce.

      @josefserf5469 Před 2 lety

      You don't say what the rated flow of your pressure washer is, but 135 bar is roughly equivalent to 1900 psi. Based on similar pressure washers perhaps you can experiment with different nozzle tips to maximize flow. Probably 2.5 or 3.0 gpm tips would be best. But you have to try different ones to know for sure. If you are talking about a foam cannon you should do what Josh does and use either a 1.25 mm orifice or 1.1 mm orifice to find out which one foams the best. Good luck.

      @@ruddykurniawan776 Six liters per minute is roughly 1.5 to 1.6 gallons per minute. The brand of the pressure washer you have is unknown over here, but that does not matter because the specifications claimed by pressure washer manufacturers tend to be exaggerated. Assuming though that they are true then try the 1.25 mm orifice in your foam cannon first. If you are using a proper soap made for foam cannons then the 1.25 mm orifice might just be good enough. Otherwise switch to the 1.1 mm orifice. Good luck. P.S. You do not have to be sorry for your English, it was good enough for me to understand. Best wishes from the USA.

    To keep it nice and fare if 1 soap cost 10x more then the other the to keep the price equal you should use 10x the soap so you end up paying the same. You are basically saying the more money like Adam’s ($59.00) you’ll get more foam.

    Please use 2 ounces for all tests regardless of manufacture specification. It can only be comparable if all tests are using the exact same solution amount per brand. Manufactures stating 1 ounce or 3 ounces or more does not matter. All manufacturers will exaggerate or have different testing methods to reach their conclusion. Not all cars get what the manufacturers state for their car's MPG and I'm sure you and everyone reading this is aware of that.

      @@hartlanddetailer5670 WaxPlanet Eight Below or Ultimate, Ethos foam party, Lithium Double Tap, ONR, McKee's Rinseless, even Chemical Guys Honeydew all depends on the vehicle conditions or maintenance plan. Also, trying the wash chem 100 this weekend. If you want to strip a vehicle from waxes and sealants besides Surface Prep from Griot's Garage also you mix at the highest ratio the Turtle Wax or WaxPlanet Eight Below or their Ultimate. Surface Prep from Griot's Garage as well as Turtle Wax even Dawn can be used to strip waxes and sealants but I also use them to clean engine bay(I learned Griot's Garage surface prep this weekend from FAB so I put it here for engine bay too), with Dawn you can do it the cheapest way and extremely effective because it's my preferred one. Always used deionized water since at home have a water softener system.

      @@plusminus6357 Sorry I have to disagree here. Take for example - if you by weed killer for your yard and it says mix 4 oz per gallon and you are testing against other brands that say 2 oz per gallon. If you mix the 4oz brand with only 2 oz do you really think its going to be a fair comparison? No! It's recommended per their testing and creation of the product it's 4oz per gallon will provide best results. Use the manufacturer recommended and not what you want.

      @mwiz100 Před 2 lety

      @@plusminus6357 It's not. Soaps like these are very highly engineered and using the right mix ratios makes a BIG difference in how they perform. If you look at the ratios for Optimum washes, they're like 1:128 and they will easily outperform something that has a 1:10 ratio. But mixing the Optimum soap at a lower ratio (more soap) doesn't make it work better. Following the intended use is key.
