ADAMS MEGA FOAM vs CARPRO RESET FOAM CANNON SOAP BATTLE

- Adams polishes Mega Foam vs Carpro Reset. A battle of foam cannon shampoo. I am looking for foam cannon soap quality, Thickness, Slickness, Smells good and cleans well.
Adams polishes is known for high quality American made products and Mega foam is my favorite so far in this foam cannon soap challenge. It has been winning all the battle easily due to it Ease of Use, Great smell, Thick foam, Slickness on the paint, Cleaning power, Great price per wash.
Lets see what it will do against Carpro Reset. Carpro is a well known respected auto detailing products company with plenty of professionals and enthusiast that like it.
Carpro Reset is an alkaline soap that has great cleaning power. It is priced a little on the high side compared to it competitors. It does produce really thick foam with a high level of slickness on the paint. Be careful in the sun as it may leave spots if it drys.
Both should perform well in the MJJC foam cannon. Both are great foam cannon soaps for auto detailing.
**Costs of products are at the time of the filming.
I hope this helps you with deciding what will work best for your situation. I have my core go to products but I prefer a variety as it makes me happy to switch things up and try new stuff. Makes me want to get out there and detail. I have been reviewing several other car detailing foam shampoo products and will continue to compare them head to head. My goal with this foam cannon soap challenge is to provide you with a look at what you are buying before you spend your money and have there be no doubt the results you can get from these products.
If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment. If you have a suggestion on a future video don’t hesitate to ask.

Having used both, CarPro Reset is the only one of the two I’d buy again. Adam’s foams better but Reset is the better cleaner in the real world where cars are actually dirty, and most people don’t have time to wash their cars on a weekly basis. So if you want foam and theatrics go for the Adam’s, want to actually clean a dirty car, go with Reset. 👍
Yeap, RESET for actual results. Especially when you have a ceramic coating.
Yup ! Reset is my to go to when it comes down to washing my ceramic coating car, or if I have a dirty car. & just for me, it’s my favorite smell in the whole entire world whatever they put in to the formula.
Good thoughts. Reset is a great soap. Thanks for watching
Could you delve into what makes a certain soap better at cleaning? The only time I've ever used a car soap that didn't get a panel clean was when I missed a spot lol
@@derek723 i think hes talking about self cleaning properties
When it comes to foaming they're both evenly matched, I will admit I have never used Adams but I've used Carpro Reset on some dirty cars and I'm amazed at the cleaning ability of Carpro Reset. I'll give it to Adams on the value per wash but when it comes to cleaning Carpro Reset wins hands down due to it's cleaning ability. Reset for the win.
Thanks for watching and sharing
@@HawaiiDetailing You're welcome and thank you for the videos and your honest opinions on the products you review, I really enjoy them keep them coming.
Love the channel, love the garage, love the content.
Super down to earth guy, great energy
10/10
Thank you.
These are very close in foam thickness, but I think its time to consider cleaning ability over price and scent. Reset wins.
I agree but I like a good smelling product too. I don’t use Reset for easy maintenance washes. I use a PH neutral for that. I do use it for more aggressive cleaning. Thanks for watching
@@HawaiiDetailing reset is neither acidic nor alkaline, its pH neutral.
My vote goes to Reset, it’s a superior product for cleaning and the slickness is insane! Maybe the foam isn’t as thick but it just does everything it claims with no BS
It’s a great soap when you need cleaning power. Thanks for watching
@@HawaiiDetailing do u use reset shampoo on a non coated car too?
Yes@@dannyzamudio1252
@@dannyzamudio1252Yes but it's more expensive per wash so not worth it.
Big fan of Carpro Reset here, too. My favorite soap.
Good stuff. Thanks
I’ve used both and they are great but the Adams still killing it! Although I do use Reset on coated cars
Yes. Both are good for different reasons.
I bought a brand new Tesla & the dealer offered ceramic coating so I added it. First time it got dirty I threw myself into the rabbit hole of “proper car washing for ceramic coatings.” Found great info here & there, then landed on Obsessed G. I’m piecing together the Karcher cube version of their wall mounted wash systems for the price point, but learning the rest of the way with your channel. I need this info & humour, so thanks & keep it coming! 😊
Thank a lot. I appreciate it
Idk if it’s just me, but I really like a shampoo/soap that rinses clean and doesn’t require me to constantly rinse over the same area because there seems to be a “film” left behind. I feel most wash and wax formulas are like this, heavy thicker viscosity soaps that leave something behind.
Definitely a fan of Reset(smell, cleaning power, foam, slickness and rinsing) and use Pearl regularly too as it’s probably bang for the buck best soap out there for what I want in a soap.
I agree with you. Thanks for watching
Is it skunky 🍺 🤣. I really enjoy your humor on the channel, and it really sets you apart! Informative and fun to watch. As for the snowfoams I have to give it to reset because of its cleaning power. Really good on ceramic coatingsand only meant to be used from time to time, but if you don't have a coating go for the mega foam.
I agree and thank you. I appreciate it.
Car Pro Reset easily the new champion based on foam thickness and cleaning power! I know that using car pro reset every now and then decontaminates and rejuvenates your ceramic coating - and in most cases will restore hydrophobic properties on sections of your car that may have previously stopped beading!
Yes I agree.
I have not used any Adams products, only CarPro, and everytime I wash my cars that both are ceramic coated with SIC, the dirt comes off easily, the soap smells great, and when I metro vac off the water, it looks like reset leaves a bit of SiO2 behind, and my cars look just as I just applied Capro Reload - will stick to Carpro. Thanks for the video.
Enjoyed the video..Adams for the win.... Almost and trying both are weak words ....Doing is a sign of confidence....stay safe
I agree. Thanks
This is truly a tough one. I was surprised at how well Reset foamed!
Adams for maintenance wash and Reset for a deep clean strip wash. If I can only pick one though to continue on for this series...I guess I'd pick Adams FTW since the title of the video is "Foam" Battle.
Thanks.
Not a particularly apples to apples comparison.
Reset is a shampoo that foams well but has spectacular cleaning power. I have exclusively used Reset for a long time now.
Adams is a nice foamer, but its cleaning power is nowhere near what Reset can do.
I like Reset too. Good stuff. I use it for different tasks. Easy light wash I go with a PH neutral soap. Tough stuff go with Reset.
Great video
I would give it to Carpro. Excellent foaming a better cleaning properties.
Thanks for sharing
I love reset, works amazing on my Ceramic Coating. I also have Carpro lift but have only ever used once. Thanks for another video
Thanks for watching
does car pro reset have good cleaning power? no need for another pre wash?
@@princeshihot8583 I would say if your vehicle is super dirty it is always better to pre wash or at very least pre rinse. Reset is a Ph balanced soap so not overly strong but cleans great after a pre-wash and especially well on coated vehicles.
But carpro reset have better cleaning ability
It’s a more aggressive soap for sure.
Very close! But price alone. Going ADAMS!!
Good choice.
Great video as always. Two questions. Do you have the 1.1mm orifice in the gun? I hear Teslas have really delicate paint, would you use Reset on your Tesla or stick to Ph neutral shampoos?
Reset is ph neutral, it acts as alcaline but with a ph of 7. you won’t have any problem using it on your Tesla. Your car will thank you for finally being cleaned for real
You can safely use it on the Tesla. No problem.
Dude I want to try Adam’s just for the smell . You make me want to really smell it !
Hahahaa. Smells good.
I'm going to have to say CarPro Reset and I'm an Adams user and fan. If you make you decision based on a few cents you probably shouldn't be using quality foam or equipment to wash your car. Regarding the sent...I don't really care what it smells like, I want what cleans the best. I also do believe CarPro products seem to be for the higher end detailers and not for everyone...also not sold everywhere ie Walmart. I will be switching to CarPro Reset.
Good choice. That’s why I have it too. It’s good stuff. Thanks for watching
Only thing you see at Walmart is chemical guys (of course lol), Meguiras, and Walmart brand. Never seen Adams. Don’t even see Adams at Autozone, but you do see some griots stuff there
What if it smells like shit ?? 😂
Carpro Reset is the best car shampoo In the world (in my opinion) because, of its cleaning durability for very dirty vehicle, & for ceramic coating vehicles. I only use car pro reset on my ceramic coating vehicle. If it’s a very nasty dirty car I go with purple power boat & vehicle wash. The only thing I don’t like about carpro reset is the cost. If I’m washing a clients vehicle, I use Adams shampoo (The blue one) nevertheless, Carpro reset to me is the best smell in the world (in my opinion)
Yes I use it the same way. Thanks
Jeremy, can you do some videos on ceramic coatings, like P&S Legends for example?
I will look into it. Thanks for the suggestion
Hi! Does the Carpro Reset might decrease the ceramic coating's capabilities? I'm planning on using it when the coating is clogged or when it's heavily dirty or when doing a 3month/6month/1yr maintenance for the ceramic coating. What do you think about it? Thanks!
It should not hurt the coating. You can use it as needed.
New subscriber, you seem like a dude worthy of having 30 or 40 beers with.......good job!!
Haha yes. This is the same thing on my mind when i first watch this guy a few months back. Loved his "alright.. yeahh.."" and his random laugh haha
Thank you. 30 ok but 40? Hahhaaa. Thanks for watching.
@@HawaiiDetailing oo jeremy, gotta love your random laugh hahahahah.
Popoman. Hahahahah.
Are you using 2oz of Reset to 800ml water in the foam cannon ?
I’ve been using the Chemical Guys HoneyDew Foam and I just purchased a bottle of this stuff. Figured I would give it a try. I’ve had good look with the HoneyDew Foam so far.
I would follow the current recommendations on the bottle. 2oz is always a good starting point if you want to just eyeball. Thats what I do.
Angelwax cleanliness and fastfoam promise your gonna love it
Will look at them. Thanks
Tanks for the video. I like the Adams. By the way what brand is the pressure washer hose reel mounted in the back? I am looking for one for my 100 foot hose.
www.hawaiidetailing.com/wallmountedpressurewasher
Here you go.
@@HawaiiDetailing Thanks a lot. Cheers! You've got a great setup by the way.
Thanks
I’d say foaming action is about the same on both. But Adams is the better value, better smelling of the two, and ph neutral so it’s not something to worry about on your paint or sealant/coating
CarPro reset was developed for coated cars. It’s not strong enough to harm a true ceramic and is alkaline to enhance cleaning. Its more expensive but it’s ability to dissolve road grime is much better than the Adams when used in a bucket wash.
I use reset for really dirty cars and Adam’s for maintenance washes. Thanks for watching
Its ph neutral not alkaline.@@NoirSavant
Reset is ph neutral...
@@whitegoodman7465ya I have no idea why everyone in the comments keeps saying it's not ph neutral when it clearly states that it is
I think the main use of a foam is to clean. Plus the bonus of a nice smelling product. As much as I like the foam, which I say is equal here. The win definitely goes to Reset for its unequalled cleaning ability.
It is a good product for sure. Thanks
One of the main uses of the foam is as a pre wash for more lubricity when doing the contact wash. You can get equal to cleaning out of BH Auto foam and likely better pure cleaning out of KC Super foam. The SF may hit coatings a bit though.
Depending if your foaming up bh af for a pre wash which i do which has nothing to do with lubricity vs foaming it up again right before your contact wash which would be for extra lubricity.@@LKN4WAR
FYI, I've been using a ph neutral soap from Malco, about $15.00 per gallon. It works well and very cost effective. Which one would you use. $60.00 or $15.00?
I hear you. Thanks for watching
which do you prefer using? Or a better question, out of all of your soaps which you do generally go for the most?
Here is my wash process in the nutshell. www.hawaiidetailing.com/wash
Reset smells like clean chemicals to me. It has a “clean” smell. The cleaning power of Reset is great for monthly washes. It will have an impact on sealants and especially on your LSP. One thing some people fail to mention with original Mega Foam is that it actually leaves behind some gloss agents supposedly. Pro or Con depending on your ideology
I think so too! It's nice and clean smelling. I loved it the first time I opened the cap. Funny, I used Adam's Mega Foam and Adam's Blue Car shampoo right after watching this video! The car I'm cleaning has ZERO protection.... so I didn't really need to use "the good stuff" y e t!
Yeah. My nose was saying old Budweiser with a fruity hint. Hahaha. Thanks for watching
The worst is noticing a 🚬 butt at the bottom after a drunken swig;)
Close. I keep hearing Reset cleans better. Never tried Reset so maybe need to try it out.
It’s significant. Reset is alkaline so you have to wash faster but the actually cleaning power is far and away better.
Yeah it’s worth a try. Thanks for watching
Car Pro reset is far and away the best soap I’ve ever used. Not even a close second
Thanks for watching
I've been using Reset for about a month now. It cleans and rinses well like almost all other car soaps I've used haha. I don't understand the hype for a $90 gallon of soap
@@derek723 it’s a fairly high alkaline soap. So removing surface dirt sure it does as well as any other soap. However when it comes to removing traffic film that clogs coatings that you can’t see it’s undefeated. It’s brought back sealants I thought were dead with one wash. A typical PH balanced soap isn’t meant to, and won’t do that. At the very least it should be a bi-monthly wash for a ceramic coating.
@@NoirSavant is it? The SDS sheet says it has a PH of 5. After diluting in water, you'd expect it to be PH neutral
Silly question but I can’t find the answer in your comments or remarks. Are you mixing any water with the reset in the foam cannon ? Or just letting the pressure washer do it’s thing with the mixing ?
No water in the mix. Let the PW mix it. Thanks for watching
I recently bought a Kranzle 1622 , with a KOBRAJET HOSE . What’s the best reel I can get for this set up ? Thank You for the Help !

Weird question but.
Did you film this at night ? Or is your garage naturally that dark with lights off?
It’s that dark with the detailing lights off. The detailing lights are crazy bright.
Turtle Wax just released their hybrid line Pure Wash! You should review it!
Might have to try them out. Thanks
Would love to see a comparison of Bilt hambler auto-foam vs Adams !
I cant get it here. Thanks for watching
The Clean Garage Carrie’s the Bilt Hamber line of products. I doubt they would have a problem shipping you whatever you need. Go for the 5 Liter size for the Auto Foam or their Touch-Less foam. These two I think for the money are the best foams/pre-wash, out there. Their cleaning ability is bonkers, only down side is they’re not of the shaving cream thick style of foams, more of the European style, but with amazing cleaning ability.
Mega foam isnt a proper high ph pre wash product, bilt hamber shits on every one of them in terms of pre washing.
weekly wash = adams. once a month = car pro. i have some of the obsessed garage decon wash for the once in a while removal wash. amazing but pricey.
I agree. Thanks for watching
Hehehe yesss jeremy yessss... thank you!!! My prayers has been answered hehehehe
Told you I would deliver. Hahahaha.
Gtechniq g wash next. I like it as much as carpro reset. Great soap imo
Thanks for watching
Adams foams better, but doesn’t quite have the bite. It’s perfect if you wash your vehicle weekly or biweekly. It smells just like juicy fruit bubble gum.
Carpro reset foams better than most, and it has good cleaning power, probably better suited for people who only wash their car once a month, or if you have a coated vehicle that’s starting to get contaminated. It really breathes life back into the coating.
I personally use them both and really like them both. They each have their specific place in your arsenal. Each one has a specific duty that it does very well. Which one is better all depends on the condition of the vehicle you’re working on.
Yea I agree with everything you said. Thanks.
One question, I don't use ceramic protection, but a liquid spray wax with a duration of 2 months, I wash my car 1x a month and I always apply the liquid wax whenever I wash the car to always give the maximum protection, the carpro shampoo Reset if I use it as snow foam and as a hand wash will it affect the wax I have applied?! I heard that this shampoo is only recommended for cars protected by ceramics, otherwise it will remove the protection?!
It does have an alkaline formula which is harder on spray sealants and waxes. I would consider a ph neutral soap for maintenance washes and use the more powerful soap for a really dirty car or a wash after it’s been a while.
Hello. Sorry, this maybe a stupid question but does the reset strip already applied sealants? I use a ceramic spray after washing my car. If I used reset would it strip it off on the next wash? Thanks from Scotland
Its not that powerful. Its a good cleaner that may take a tiny bit of the spray sealant off but not enough to be concerned. Reapply after wash Thanks
@@HawaiiDetailing Thanks for the reply. Definitely going to give it a shot. Also found your channel recently and it's now one of my favourites. Thanks again.
How can you not like the smell of Reset, I think it’s great?
It’s ok. I just said the first thing I thought of when I smelled it. Thanks for watching
Adam's Mega Foam is literally what it claims to be but nothing compares to CarPro Reset. It's amazing shampoo that cleans well and leaves zero residue.
Yes it’s good. I do like it.
Based on foam, it's a draw I don't know how great carpro is, but if it cleans substantially better, it might be a win.
That Adams price though is tough to beat. For a weekly maintenance wash, probably Adam's. For a dirtier car, go with the carpro?
Carpro never make a below par products. All of their products is top notch
Yes for the dirtier car or when you plan on applying a last step product such as detail spray I recommend Reset. Also great shampoo for adding to your wheel bucket! Lubricity is great. Adam’s perfect for those weekly washes though. I prefer the original blue shampoo though
Good plan. Thanks for watching
Get some detail firm exterior lather.... , the best soap out there
Will check it out. Thanks
What about matte black wrap cars? and PPF is car pro reset and Adam be ok
Going Adams with price as the kicker on this one.
Good point. Thanks
Love reset. Have you tried meguiar's hyperwash vs Adams megafoam
No I have not. I will have to look at it.
@@HawaiiDetailing best "value" product. Very sudsy, clean and no extras. Like reset and almost as strong
Both looked great, but I'll give Adam's the nod once again.
Thanks. Adam’s is a great foam cannon soap for sure.
I have a question what is the difference between both of these shampoos? Please and Thank You🙏🏽🙌🏽
Reset is an alkaline soap that is more for heavy cleaning. Mega is a PH neutral that is great for maintenance washes.
@@HawaiiDetailing Thank you so much!!!! Hoping to use both of these shampoos may God bless you and everyone as well take care🙏🏽❤
Gonna have to go with Carpro reset it’s a better overall soap

If you’re out in the summer sun in Hawaii, how long does it take for shampoo to start drying to get spots?
It can happen pretty quick here.
@@HawaiiDetailing pretty quick like in under 5 minutes?
@@MrDro1128 under 10 for sure. 5 would be a sunny hot day.
This one is a tough one. Mega Foam no doubt has the thick foam and it's half the price almost. But RESET has it in the cleaning power department. For a budget minded person.....go with Mega Foam. But for anyone where price isn't a problem.......go with the RESET. RESET is tried and true and having a bottle myself.......I know that stuff works.....and works very well. It's designed to "RESET" (hence the name obviously) your paint by releasing dirt and grime and unclogging either the coating or wax/sealant combo you use on your particular paint. Looks like Mega Foam has met it's match! YEAH.................................
Thanks for sharing Joe. I appreciate it
What spray tip are you using to rinse the soaps?
bit.ly/3c1Ptjv
Here you go. Thanks for watching
I use both religiously. Reset, because of its cleaning properties, I use every third wash since our cars are ceramic coated. Adam’s I use every wash. Both have great foam but…Adam’s wins again!!
Are reset good for a sealant protected car?
@@ims7568 yes and no. It will knock down your sealants over time. But it leaves it clean. One way to combat this is to throw a detail spray or short term protectant product after every wash so that reset removes that product and not your sealant over time.
Thanks for watching. I use Adam’s on not so dirty cars and reset on the tough ones.
Damn I’m going to have to get some Adam’s once my Bilt hambler auto-foam runs out
You will like it. My favorite PH neutral soap.
Two completely different soaps for different use cases.
Yay finally CarPro Reset in the battle 🤣
There it is. Thanks
CarPro is a completely different soap so it's understandable that CarPro is more expensive. Also I think the foaming was about the same.
Thanks.
Will this eat off a spray ceramic like griots, Sonax, Turtle Sio2 etc
It shouldn't. Thanks for watching
Reset is the best IMO Adams got dethroned.
Looks like that’s where it’s heading. Thanks
Adam’s for sure

I actually wish lift was more alkaline. I barely notice the difference between it and reset...
Carpro reset is actually pH neutral isn't it?!
yes
I think u should compare gallon to gallon price yes carpro is pricey but let's give it a chance on a fair playing field
I wasn’t able to get a gallon so I did not consider it. Good idea though. $104 for 135oz =67 washes = $1.53 a wash

[EDIT] holy thick foam!!! Damn!! It's seriously thick and quickly hits bottom. This is a tough one!!! You may have a stalemate here!! 😳😳😳😳😳😳😎😎😎 Thanks for another great video! Time to get back to work on this Blue Subaru!
Stalemate in foaming ability but having bought an awful lot of both of these carpro reset is far far better at cleaning.

@@HawaiiDetailing That's good to know! After so many foam challenges to Mega Foam, Reset is right on and is close to it! I study this stuff!

How can we really tell what cleans better though....really....how can we actually tell 🤷♂️
At some point you have to buy something and use it yourself to come up with your own favorite. There are plenty of reasons why all those answers are not in a single video. Here are some of the variables. Contamination level, Type of Contamination, How long has the Contamination been on the paint, Local water quality, Wash technique, Washing conditions, Heat, Cold, Humid, Shade, Direct sun, Quality of tools, Pressure washer, Garden Hose?, Wash Mitts, Buckets. Are you looking for a pre wash? Wash soap? or a touchless wash? Is the vehicle ceramic coated? Is there paint protection on the paint? All these thing make a huge difference. Here are some differences that are tangible. Most PH neutral soaps clean the same. Some are more sudsy then others and some offer more lubrication, scent? Higher PH soaps clean better and the higher the PH the more it will clean but that type of cleaning has consequences too. Water spots, chemically removing paint protection etc. Hope that helps
Reset all day.

Already did it in an older vid. Check it out.
I am totally bought into the CarPro 'ecosystem' of products. I have CQuartz UK 3 on my black car and I only use Reset as my soap. My typical weekly/bi-monthly wash method is:
1. Wash the wheels with Reset in a dedicated wheel bucket. Spray wheels down with IronX if needed.
2. Rinse the car heavily with water.
3. With a spray bottle full of MultiX (diluted 20:1) and a detail brush, wash exterior plastics, badges and window seals.
4. Rinse
5. Two bucket method with Car Pro Reset from top to bottem.
6. Rinse.
7. Dry with giant microfiber towel. I don't have a garage otherwise i'd use a BigBoi blower. (hope to have one soonm)
8. Spray 3-5 sprays of CarPro EliXir into dry microfiber towel and wipe down each panel. With a separate microfiber towel, buff off to a crazy shine. Every 2 months or so, I'll do this step with CarPro Reload instead of EliXir.
9. Admire
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching too.
IDC about smell, what is this princess bubble gum?
Hahahhaa. When all things are equal why not smell good too. That is a personal Choice for sure. Some people like a scent less product. Some don’t care either way. I myself like a good quality scent. Thanks for watching
Give Avalanche a try
Will check it out. Thanks
Adams wins because of the price point and smell.
Thanks
Obviously your going to get heaps of foam if you go over a panel a few times..
Yes. Wanted to show a few passes to make sure that you get to see enough to not need to see more. Thanks for watching
