Today, China, the United States, and other regional powers have jockeyed for favor from these island states in the Indian Ocean region. I think it important to remember that the origins of Polynesians have identified as originally Taiwan First People. It would be surprising if among Polynesians this genealogy did not give a sense of solidarity with their long lost cousins.
