Just out of curiosity, have you tested the connectors intentionally filled with water , partly filled with grease and fully filled with grease? is the intent of the grease to displace any water from entering the connector.
What is the spec for the grease? Im a new FD user and live in Cape Town, and would prefer not to import small tubes of grease. So I would like to buy the right grease locally.
Hey, thanks for asking! We advise to ONLY use Foil Drive Grease. While you can find similar grease options even small changes to the recipe can change how the grease works. We've had customers use something close to identical and destroy their batteries as why we only suggest using Foil Drive Grease. We are about to go live with a bulk buy tube of grease to tackle the exact issue of customers having to order in often. The bulk tube should last a lifetime!
I had the same question - sometimes you do get some condensation in the FD+ box so i would have thought this would help? In the Gen 2 does water get inside the housing then? it looks like it shouldn't in which case it would be the same as the FD+ box? If we were to use the dielectric grease surely it can only help?@@mceateat

Does this also apply to the Foil Drive Assist + ?
no - the battery connection is not exposed in the same way. It is inside the waterproof box for the FDA+

My battery charger for FDA+ stopped working...multiple emails to FD support unanswered 👎
