    I'm aware of the graphics glitches/artifacts on this video, not sure what's causing it. I don't believe it is the A770 causing it, since I test rendered other videos using itwithout any issues. I tried modifying sequence settings, using different codecs, etc, and still could not fix the problem. My best guess is that it's a Premiere Pro problem since this is not the first time I've encountered an odd Premiere Pro bug. I recently switched to using Premiere Pro 2024 and unfortunately the project file can't be opened in any previous versions of Premiere Pro, so that meant either keep this video as is, or redo the entire edit from scratch. I chose to keep it, but will keep trying to figure out what the root problem is. Wouldn't it be funny though if it ended up being an Intel Arc specific issue though?

    I've been running the A750 LE since Feb 2023. In the beginning it was passable for my uses. Since then, with all the driver updates and constant work to improve that Intel has done, it has meet all of my needs and has no issues with 1440p. Starfield is still an ongoing problem but I also blame Bethesda for that.

  • @HobbesterLobster

    I upgraded to an A770 LE back in February from a 6500 XT I bought near the end of the sclapocalypse. Here in Canada when I bought the A770, it was cheaper than most RTX 3050s. I've really liked it so far, and have had very few issues with it. I'm looking forward to how or if performance keeps improving with driver updates.

  • @PinkyTech

    I’m using an Arc A750. Essentially the same performance as the 3060 I was using, but I get AV1 for CZcams streaming and videos. The 4952 driver update that was recently released also fixed some gaming performance issues with a massive increase in Halo MC.
    Hopefully this translates to better performance for battlemage!

    i picked one up for my tv pc for gaming on the couch mainly because i was interested in trying it out. I have always used intel cpus in my builds so why not. Im fairly pleased with its performance but i would still take my 3080 system in a heartbeat. I kind of hope they can build more performance with keeping the cards small. I normally build pcs that are 13L and under in size so not much room for the larger cards. either way more options are always good.

    -MCC is still miserable and have to tinker the settings almost every other match, so back to the Series X on that one
    -Cyberpunk 2077 ran extremely well, but I saw pop-ins in the Badlands upon my first boot. Need to play some more in the city if it still percisist
    -Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) runs like a dream even with mods!
    -The stupid EA App's (that replaced Origin) UI wouldn't even load and it took constant redownloads before it finally did. Afterwards I was able to play Titanfall 2 with no problems!
    -I like to virtualize Windows a lot and I use Workstation VM 17 and if I'm on it for too long then I'll start experiencing "hitching" where Windows would freeze briefly before continuing.

It's also a good card for gamers. With the new beta driver that significantly optimizes DX11, I suggest updating to the beta version, and you will see a huge difference. Thank you for your video!

    Hi, thanks for this excellent video. I’m also using a Arc 770 in my main system. I’m by no means a Intel fanboy, but I wanted to have a „Intel only“ machine to judge it’s everyday performance. I also like to have a third player on the graphics card market. At the beginning the Arc drives where a bumpy ride, but now the are mature. I think Intel has the needed resources to become the third player in the graphics card market which is a good thing. Competition is always good to get good products priced fairly.

      That is so nice you got a white board. I would love to get one if it's reasonable at some point aethetically/pricewise. I still have 3060 12gb in my spare rig have been gaming on for the past week. Have 32gb DDR5 in one rig and 48gb DDR5 in the other. Perhaps I should have put 64gb in the main rig. Have owned the 1060 and 3060 but skipped the 2060. 3060 has been stable for years, Downgraded recently from Windows 11 to Windows 10 and am enjoying that more (has more of a lightweight feel, almost Linux). I'm not sure if my main rig 7900XTX hit a bad driver recently for Alan Wake 2 or if it is a problematic Z690 board, it had no issues in a B760M before months ago, DDUed perhaps I will solve this in time (swap ram kits if I have to). But it was gaming fine for months mostly (few minor crashes) not sure if the 7900XTX is to blame (it could be). There is a beauty in not having to worry about ram though, it's nice.

    Am gaming this past week on my spare rig 12700KF 3060 12gb. Still troubleshooting might be the board/driver issue 12900KF 7900XTX Asus Z690 Wifi Plus some boards have the usb cutting out power issue, my other one doesn't but this one does, have a usb c in there and as a noob I did DDU but I may have derped somewhere in the process upgrading drivers, that or the Windows updates caught up with me. Games will launch and crash last I tried it. Had another board everything worked on also. Didn't stop me from picking up a 7800XT though. Haven't tried arc personally, they were getting really cheap and I almost picked up an A770 bifrost, loved the aesthetic. The higher up in cpus and gpus another inconvenience is heat. It's much cooler being on a lower end budget rig (as far as graphics cards go etc) in that regards. I've never done AIOs or water cooling. I think I had a fear put in me to try things from an old friend, recently did my first bios update and nothing went wrong, it was fine. I believe both Windows and Linux are supporting the Intel cards but that would be another thing to keep in mind. I played Starfield at launch on 7900XTX and that still wasn't fun for me, some of the newer games are FOMO play at launch then go back to my usual preferences.

    I built a PC with an AMD RX 7800 XT. It was crashing to a full restart during games and event viewer was showing WHEA 18, WHEA 46, and Kernel 41. I tried all the basic troubleshooting (BIOS updates, DDU and GPU driver updates, installing the GPU driver only with no adrenaline software, setting BIOS settings to stock, re-installing Windows 11). The fix for my issue ended up being turning off AMD FSR 2.
    Your viewer mentioned Windows and AMD GPU driver conflicts. I think this still at least an isolated issue as it explains the last 2 weeks of troubleshooting on my PC.

    I've used both the A750 and their A770 16GB LE. I've had the usual driver issues, but over time they got MUCH better, to the point they really are good everyday options now. I can't say the same for their partner cards, namely Sparkle. I've had now three defective cards, all the same thing, no DP ports working, like at all, in Windows 11 Pro. I'll accept it on one as a defective card, but three different ones? Nope. I wish you luck on the swap Danny, I'm sure it'll go well, Intel really has a winner here and Battlemage will really give the other two a run for their money for sure.

    Currently still on a 3060. Prices weren’t good at the time I got it a year and a half ago. If battlemage is significantly better and competitive, I might consider it. Otherwise I may consider a 4070 super or amd if they release something newer to counter Nvidia at a better price point

    • @dianaalyssa8726
      @dianaalyssa8726 Před 7 měsíci +1

      A nice thing is the 3060 doesn't put off a ton of heat. Regular 4070 are supposed to be eco efficient also, as far as power consumption. There is the Avatar game bundle for AMD on their GPUs, I think the 7900XT is meant to be the 4070 Ti competitor but there could always be more/new products idk. Nvidia does do this habitually they release a stack without enough vram then roll out the supers later. My settings for 1440P are a little lower on the 3060 12gb for high refresh but am not sure it's a huge deal. My 7900XTX and 12900KF system would put off considerable heat and the 12700KF 3060 feels a few degrees cooler and a bit quieter. There is some balance between everything. The 3060 is still fine but not as smooth as a more powerful card, I can see a small difference in textures etc but how much heat it's worth, planning to try the 7800XT next see if that is a nice balance.

    14:42 I am seeing this 6 months after upload. It is now May 19, 2024 and the a770 driver updates has pushed it past RTX 4060, it is now taking aim at RTX 4060 Ti. Very impressive. And no doubt, ARC is much better for Photoshop & Adobe Premiere. The RTX 4090 cant come anywhere close to it for Photoshop. But that's the thing, the ARC is NOT a gaming card, it's productivity, that is why at boot the drivers were so off for gaming, but now it is catching up very well.

  • @freudia
    @freudia Před 7 měsíci +1

    I used an Arc A750 from March until a few days ago. It was perfectly fine for the games I play (which are old or don't require high specs), and the AV1 codec was great for streaming and video rendering. Unfortunately, one of the driver updates in mid-September made one particular obscure game I play stop working, and it's basically what I play most. It's an old niche game with barely any players so there's no way Intel will bother to fix the issue (it's still broken on the most recent drivers), but that alone pushed me to finally switch to a different (and much "weaker") graphics card.

    • @dianaalyssa8726
      @dianaalyssa8726 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Similar story but with my 7900XTX (am not sure if it's also a quirky Asus Z690, have also used card months ago fine in B760M). I play some new games at launch but mostly play older games and after driver update (around Alan Wake 2 release) wouldn't launch/crashed immediately afterwards. Going to try a 7800XT in that rig perhaps or switch around components. Have been gaming this past week (managed to fix in about a couple hours) downgraded from Windows 11 to 10 with fresh install and am on 12700KF 3060 12gb. It's not as nice but it works. Can still fiddle with the other system or play musical components just it's a bit choresome to figure out why something that worked mostly good is working not as well, even after DDU/some fresh installs etc. I will usually test out problem drivers on video playback and in game, just it's time consuming to figure out if it's working/if not what to try next.

Never had issues with nvidia until they decided that only oil barons should be able to afford them. It wouldn't even be that big a deal if they gave them enough memory. I can't buy a new high end card every year because my card is now obsolete!

I'm sticking with the A70 16gb I have the Predator BiFrost which looks a lot better to me than the 2070 super founders addition I have, the color and rgb look nice.
    I am playing new games that I didn't play using my 2070 so I can't say which is better but Assassins Creed Mirage and Madden 24 look and play great on the A770 at ultra settings 1440p maybe a little chop here and there but its not enough to make me drop the settings. Modern Warfare 3 plays the same on ultra as it does on high both settings are choppy more than the other games but a lot of the time its packet loss.😊

    I noticed quite a few occasions when your new card lost in average FPS, it actually had better lows. I'm wondering how the comparison looks there, because I would take that trade every time.
    Edit: Ran the numbers through Excel like a nerd, because I had nothing better to do. A770 is 4% worse in lows overall, or the same (0% difference) if we ignore Starfield. In lows, WoW is another outlier at 49% worse, if we also ignore that, A770 becomes 5% better in lows overall. That's being generous of course, but it gives a good indication of what the hardware could do if it wasn't held back a bit still by the software. Not half bad for a first gen.
    Also, minor correction: Starfield average is 37% worse, not 63%, that changes the overall loss in average from 10% to 8%.

      @dianaalyssa8726 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Maybe a 6600 or for more a 7800XT. Both are 8 cores, X3D is more the gaming chip, 7700X would be good for both gaming/production. 32gb or more DDR5 personally I find comfortable. Have used 32gb and 48gb kits. I found 16gb was a bit scarce, still made it for gaming and browser, would put as a destitute minimum (before I moved a kit ended up on 16 for a few days and it was weird for me). Have been on 32gb since late 2019, game had a ram leak, and 16gb wasn't really cutting it as much back then. I don't notice much difference this week from gaming on a 48gb kit and browser open etc going back to 32gb. Might be some nice Expo kits on sale. Storage would go 1 tb or 2 tb (have both), 512gb is more of a minimum (still have a few of those around from older builds). If you are video editing you could add more nvme/ssd storage. I only play a couple games at a time and still use hard drives for archiving media/4K. Am thinking I might go for around 200 with a 4TB Nextorage (there is a Sony on sale) but I think 2 TB will be the norm. My friend actually had an issue with his 512gb where Windows, CoD, Apex, and WoW just barely fit after compressing/updates, so that might be too small if you play a lot of games/ones that take up space. Am on my spare rig with a 1tb nvme in now and it's fine. I would try to go for a nice B or better yet at least entry level X board if you plan to upgrade later. Power supply I grab on sale off of PSU cultists tier list (they also have nvme storage list on the cultist network page), you could go cheaper but they put off less heat when gold/higher and on the list. I do actually notice that every day. You should get the best graphics card budget wise you can afford. DDR5 will take a bit the first boot to memory train (have used on 12th gen) but give it a minute or two to boot I suppose so it can train itself. I've had a few issues with DDR5 (hopefully you won't) where I've had to move ram kits around to different boards to get stability for a system, turn off the ram oc, and try for the minimum speeds if the overclock doesn't work and tune it later. Might be 12th gen teething issues (but w/e it was on sale). Hopefully your ram just is less fiddly than mine. DDR5 usually goes in the 2nd and 4th slots (should be a diagram though). It will probably boot fine, you should feel relief getting to the BIOS screen, but plenty of resources if there are issues. I actually have 2 DDR5 kits because I was unlucky (ended up doing another build), QVL list would be good for ram shopping but it's not a guarantee the ram overclock will work (maybe things are better on the AMD side). GL.

      IMO, the Intel Deep Link technology is more designed for laptops rather than desktops. While it will work with 12th Gen+ desktop processors, I don't think it will give you the performance boost that you are thinking it will --- the desktop chips simply don't have the number of compute units to really take advantage of it. The laptop iGPUs have 3 times the compute units vs the desktop chips...

    Bear in mind that A77p supports AV1 codec, which none of Nvidia does. Secondly, Intel clearly stated that the car is mainly for content creators and steeamer, so they are not really targeting gamers, so I think this card should be judged based on gaming, although Nvidia would have advantages for rendering, but considering the Codec support by intel card combined with Intel CPU which has IGPU decoding and incoding engine, I think they would work well togeather, especially Intel 14th gen comes with APO mode, which would make more efficient.
    I am considering this card for video editing because it offers a decent job for this purpose, considering the affordable price. I can't stand Nvidia or Apple for what they do.
    Although I can afford buying more expensive cards, but I am happy to go for intel and face a little struggle here and there, hoping intel will come with better competition in near feature to balance the market against Nvidia disgusting approach and their prices.

    Something is not right. Very low results. BIOS update maybe? REBAR/E-Cores enabled? Starfield for example should be around 60FPS.
    Also less FPS works better on INTEL. Strange but often with AMD/Nvidia you need lot more FPS for the game to be playable. A770 16gb on mine with 4k. Most games work great at mid/high settings/RT on. INTEL architecture splits the tasks with CPU while AMD/Nvidia are standalone cards mainly having most of the tasks with GPU that don't rely on CPU in that extent. This makes the performance on paper look very poor for INTEL. Reality is very different. Hence the intel tool for pairing the cards with matching/compatible CPU to get the best results.
