- Huge mudlarking finds that were too big to carry! See our river and sea finds.
Join us out and about on the river and at the beach, finding old things that we had to leave where they were, as they were just too heavy to carry! We do enjoy finding big things, but sometimes, those things are just too big and have to be left where they are.
Phil in the Shed leads us all on a journey of discovery that will amaze you!

Thanks Phil. I just adored that undulating piece of wall and the unfortunate gargoyle. As we get older we do have to take a little more care with life and limb.😉
Glad you enjoyed the video Annette. We loved the finds on that beach, even if they were too big to carry. 🤠🙂🐼
❤ I remember watching these and thinking how wonderful these finds were, even if they could not be taken home with you.
I also love all the bottles on the shelves in the shed.❤
They say great minds think alike Lisa, and we thought the same thing, seeing them was rewarding and wonderful, and because we had to leave them there, so many others can have the joy of finding them too. Glad you liked the bottles too 🤠🙂🐼
Great memories of your adventures the finds were spectacular on that beach! So happy you had this experience and footage to share with us again. Have a wonderful rest of your week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Glad you enjoyed revisiting these places with us Susan. We're taking a couple of days off and are away for a few days, so enjoying the rest, but also planning to make a video or two. Hope you have had a good week too. 🤠🙂🐼
No worries I like the ones where you’re larking ☺️
I would have tried like anything to drag the gargoyle out ❤ The dragon skull was amazing ❤ I look forward to seeing you every week
Yes, Angela, it's so sad to leave things there, but such a joy to see them and all the better, because we can share them with you in the videos. Thanks for watching 🤠🙂🐼
Hi Phil & Caroline. Happy New Year. 🎉🎇🥂 I loved that small cylindrical thing the 1st time Caroline spotted it. Such a conversation piece in your garden! 😲🤔😂 If only... Ditto for the 10' pipe tower. 😁😜😝 I'm looking forward to Memory Lane vignettes during the bad weather, and perhaps some belated crafting. Take care, both of you, and I'll see you next time. 🥰😘🤗💖👍👋
Happy New Year Noralee, hope 2024 has started well for you. If only we could have got them back to the garden!!! But we know our limits 😂😆 We're planning a few adventures for this year and look forward to sharing the videos with you. You take care too 🤠🙂🐼
I think my most favorite thing that you ever found is that gargoyle! 💕
That was a brilliant discovery Michele, we were so thrilled when we saw it for the first time. Just amazing 🤠🙂🐼
So glad you’re back to mudlarking and the shed 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
Wow! That gargoyle was amazing. I have big stone chisels and a couple of 2pound mallets.
I’d be doing my best to carve it down to size.
Maybe that’s why I can’t stand up straight anymore.
Very tempting Dorothy, but it looked amazing there on the beach 🤠🙂🐼
Where's a crane with a hoist rope when you need one?? Beautiful history right there, and I remember all of your wonderful adventures and thoroughly enjoy these trips down memory lane in the shed too. Love you both so much. Have a fabulous week xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
Yes, Teresa, with the right equipment we could collect enough salvage to build an amazing and intriguing house! Hope you've had a fabulous week too. See you on the next adventure 🤠🙂🐼
Thank you Phil. This was an enjoyable trip .
That's great. Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼
Hi, Logan was happy today finding his first vulcanite stopper.
That's fantastic... Every first is so special... Well done Logan 🤠🙂🐼
The shed's a great place to hang out especially during this spell of awful weather. It was fun to look back at some of your old mudlarking videos. I did remember seeing some of them, and especially loved the time you spent at Lyme Regis. I hadn't seen the one with the bike recovery before and that was entertaining..... 🤣 Nor the one with the section of wall. I'd have loved to lug that home too, but it obviously was Mission Impossible. A very enjoyable video. Happy New Year Phil and looking forward to many more adventures with you throughout 2024!
Yes, I love my shed 🤠 and we've enjoyed putting the compilations together, so many great memories. Hope your New Year has started well and continues to bring good things and new adventures to enjoy. 🤠🙂🐼
Hi Phil. I love your shed chats, and seeing some if your old footage.
That's great, thanks for the encouragement 🤠🙂🐼
Loved the video Phil hello Caroline so look forward to your videos ❤
That's great Mike, thank you and thanks for watching 🤠🙂🐼
What a great trip down memory lane again Phil 😊 such amazing big things and unfortunate they had to stay put. The last clip with that gargoyle still amazes me, just the architecture... awesome ❤😊 thank you for sharing these moments again 🥰
We love going through the old trips Deb, and it's great to hear that you enjoy them too. Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼

Great that you found us again. We've been putting out videos, but a lot of people haven't had notification. Wonderful to hear that you feel part of the CZcams family. Take care and we hope you enjoy catching up on the videos. www.youtube.com/@LetsgowithTheJohnsons/videos 🤠🙂🐼
Happy New Year! Always look forward to your videos. I hope you and Caroline are doing well!
Happy new year Florence, thank you for your lovely comment. Caroline's doing well now and we're away for a couple of days, so looking forward to a rest... And a bit of filming for CZcams 🤠🙂🐼
Awesome!! 💃💃💃
Thank you so much 🤠😎🐼
Beautiful video!😊
Thank you Rita, so glad you liked it 🤠🙂🐼
I do remember everyone of those moments. Fun times and one more somber time. You didn't include one beach (can't remember the name, but) You saw a huge tree that had been coughed out by the sea and it looked like a giant dragon skeleton/skull. Happy New Year Phil. I told Caroline earlier on her channel. Here is to a healthy and good year in 2024. We are in Buck Rogers time is seems. When did the future get here! LOL you can send us some precipitation. I rains for a day then two weeks go by. Not good.
Great that you remembered those finds Laura, and yes we have found a lot more massive things including the tree you mentioned. Thanks for the New Year greetings, hope your 2024 has began well and that it brings you good things. It's dried up here at the moment, so we're hoping to get out filming, but the rain is never far away for us at this time of year. Take care. 🤠🙂🐼
Love the shed, i remember most of the videos when you found the items. When are you going to make another craft project lol. Take care and thanks for the memories 👏🙏❤️
Glad you enjoyed the trip down memory lane, from the shed, Chris. I hope to find some time for crafting this year. Take care and thanks for watching. 🤠🙂🐼
@@LetsgowithTheJohnsons ALWAYS, I hope Caroline is feeling better now 🙏❤️
Oh fabulous!! 😊
Glad you like it 🤠🙂🐼
Well done on retrieving that Nextbike, I have tried reporting them but nobody seems interested, that's why they have been withdrawn from Cardiff.
That spot near the footbridge is locally known as birdies lane, the traditional boundary between Ely and Fairwater, I used to go paddling there as a youngster trying to net minnows.
In my experience you wont find that part of the Ely very productive, my advice would be try the Taff bend near Radyr Cricket club.
One of the best places I can remember for bricks, was the foreshore in Cardiff, just west of Splott beach near Longships Road.
Best wishes to you both.👍
It looked too good to just leave in the river Paul, but it's a shame that a thoughtless minority ruin things for the rest, as the idea of providing them seems a sound one, which I'm sure a lot of people would have been glad of. Thanks for the the tip for where to go on that river, and as always thanks for watching 🤠🙂🐼
I miss the mud larking videos, will you do any this year when the weather is better?
We are planning to revisit the river 🤠🙂🐼
Too big is still too big!
😂 Absolutely Kathleen 😱 Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼
