Wonders of Hungary - Fertőrákos Quarry and Cave Theatre

In today's episode of our series, we visit the Fertőrákos Quarry and Cave Theatre, which is a truly special art performance venue: already the Romans mined limestone from the rocks here, and since then, until it was declared a protected monument in the 20th century, the area was a well-used mine. At the beginning of the 20th century, musicians discovered the excellent acoustics of its inside and outside, which led to the step-by-step creation of the cultural centre that can be seen today.
