If you have a ps4 or ps5 they use the same cords , I even used the cord to a hot glue gun once

The PS3, 360 Era of gaming was the best. It was the perfect middle ground of graphics and hardware being able to push boundaries we never seen before, mixed in the creativity of the studios still experimenting.
Everything since then has been a cut and paste copy.
I wouldn't say at it's best, but to me they're the last "Good" Console generation. People don't realize just how bad the PS4/XBoxOne and PS5/Xbox Whatever it is now because no one cares... but not enough people seem to realize just how bad they are today. Even the Switch isn't something that can be considered amazing so to speak, Value's Steamdeck for example easily a far better platform. To me Console Gaming is Dead, and a lot of people just don't realize it yet.
Good example is Final Fantasy 14 is the best MMORPG on the market, and it was released on the PS3. All these years later and it's still the best.

Love the PS3. I'm tempted to get a PS3 again and get back to play online. I just really miss playing uncharted 2 and 3. I wish naughty dog would've kept the servers up for those games.

Blur is the best Racing game ever, so much fun even these days.
Blur is a great game
6th and 7th gen gaming was the peak. I also recommend the original Xbox with Insignia installed. Jumping into online multiplayer games like Wolfenstein, MechAssault, Battlefront and Splinter Cell feels more fun and less like work.
PS3 definetly has something special going on, you want to take it to the next level , get a plasma tv, it was the tip top tv tech at the time and really suits the PS3/360 era consoles

I have two 42 inch plasma tvs. I have a dozen ps3 consoles and every major design is in my collection. The only downside of the ps3 is the oem controllers are breaking down, but I am told ps4 pads work natively.

7:29 That wasn't the case for the 1st game of black ops I played today on PS3. A dude on my team was freaking out over an enemy player using ghost. The sheer frustration and the language that was used took me right back to 2010 and I was laughing my ass off 🤣
I got ps3 ps4 and ps5 and i can only agree ps3 is legendary and is still going strong i went back to play online too couple months ago and im on it regularly now its so much more fun because back then developers took there time making ps3 games Battlefield 3 and 4 , Cod black ops and world at war
the PS2 should be the last really awesome console.. but the PS3 holds up, because it's right in the middle of offline consoles with complete games .. and the new era of online consoles with incomplete games where you pay for additional content .. the PS3 is the best of both worlds
The ps3 slowly has become my favorite console. I have over 150 games collected over the past 3 months and honestly I do not need another system in my life. If all the servers were still up from every game then it would make my life.
Yea the library is insane and they’re mostly very cheap. Could play the console forever
Battlefield 4 has a lot of full servers, especially on the weekend.
There's a couple issues with the majority of the cod games that you need to know about
1) BO1 and MW2 both reset your rank as soon as you log out of multiplayer
2) BO2 crashes your system the moment you boot it up, requiring you to use an old workaround where you launch the game while offline
Start a local match
Spawn in
Sign back in
And then go online (and yes it does save stats)
And 3) Mw3 and BO3 multiplayer are straight up inaccessible
One kicks you out everytime you try to find a game while the other freezes your system
The latter require certain mod tools to get them working
Every other cod game that I haven't listed (from cod 3 and classic to ghosts and advanced warfare) should be working without any issues

I just started playing gears of war for the 360 on my Xbox series x. It's still the best game I've ever played online
Me too, it blew me away in '06 and I played multiplayer for years, every new gears that came out I always went back to OG gears 1.

I still play on the ps3, recently I’ve started black ops 1 online for the first time and I didn’t have the progress saving problem.

Cod world at war and black ops are peak cod (and arguably 2 fps goats). Mw2 was also fun as hell. I cant even play modern cod, it's just a shadow of former greatness.

Better off because all the new consoles are just paperweights IMO. I have a jailbroken ps3 fat and slim that i fixed up myself and i do not regret it

Oh man I played alot Rainbow Six Vegas multiplayer back in the day. I remember being so good at it I killed other players with 1 shot kills at times.
Just bought Blur again today loved this Game such an Under-appreciated Game.
The PS2 and PS3 remains to be my primary consoles, i just have no desire to play recent titles, and another thing that kills the next generation is the lack of physical discs, having the ability to access the whole game via one disc is a major advantage, you truly own your copy of that game for you to keep or sell, or let family members inherit them.
Blur still having online is a welcome surprise 😮 👍
A fantastic time for gamers, a baptism of fire for some creators!
Working with a system that had a reputation for being difficult to programme via 3rd party companies and with a price entry point set to a higher value than competitors, it wasn't a great foundation for gaming on the PS3.
Even with this foundation from day 1, the PS3 produced some of the fondest gaming experiences i've had in my near 40 years on this earth. The variety in genre and the ambition to try something new are the themes most noticeable in this generation.
It's important to remember that although it was a great time for gamers, the same couldn't be said for the studios that created the games - long work schedules with heavy crunching prior to release date, a lot of pressure for the teams to meet deadlines that at times were near impossible to achieve.
I would like to think that has changed since the PS3 days, but i'm not optimistic in that opinion - it almost feels that the over saturation of online hero shooters is heralding a new age of fierce market competition that's affecting the audience, why else would so many of us choose to return to the older generations?

Playstation 3 was the first console I got after my home was Vandalized back in 2010. It brought me a lot of joy and memories after a really hard time in my life. I will always love PS3 it's at the top of my list.

Finally a fellow cultured gamer who enjoys blur. Easily in my top 5 racing games of all time. It 100% deserves a sequel or reboot. So much potential and room for improvement.
a few days bevore christmas my rechargeable of my laptop died, so I pluged my ps3 slim in and realize, well I just had fun with the games even if the graphic and/or framerate isn't up to date, but the gameplay feels freaking good. I got a PS4 Slim but I enjoyed more of my PS3 library🤔😃

Hey man, discovered your channel recently and I'm loving it! I would suggest you try Modern Warfare 1 and 2 online. I heard they're pretty much alive and well on multiplayer.
I've been playing NFS Most Wanted and Rivals, also Resident Evil 5 and 6. GTA V also works, but you need HEN to play. Some of the Battlefield games still work too

I like retro gaming myself. Sometimes it can be a difficult journey going back that far in time, lol. You realize those online players never left. You did! Also, the control mechanics can take some time getting used too. Rather it's tank controls or older COD's slower gameplay. Great video!!! Definitely deserves a like.
I recently played Resistance 3 demo, killzone 3 demo and motorstorm 1 demo and i had a lot more fun with those demos than majority of recent PS5 games and i never got motorstorm or resistance 3 so they are perfect games to buy and justify hooking up my PS3 to my tv again

Your quality looks amazing, my PS3 has a lot of aliasing on our 1080p TV. I like to play it on TV, because a TV usually has built-in sharpening which takes away the "blur" you would get on most PC Monitors due to upscaling.

New sub, i thought my ps3 was broke got it back going now I'm back online. Took a while to sign back in but I'm back.
I still to this day play on my Xbox 360 in 2024. There was definitely a moment in the last few years where finding game matches on call of duty was very difficult as the servers were broken when it came to matchmaking. But thanks to Microsoft efforts to fixing the servers with the whole Activision deal they were trying to do, pretty much almost all call of duty that came out on 360 are able to match make again, so those games are still very much alive. aside from that there’s not too many other games that I know of that still work on 360. I’m a big Forza motorsports guy and I haven’t had any luck on games for Forza motorsport or Horizon. In the last two years I keep collecting games for 360 that I mean to play but still haven’t had the chance to so there might be more than just call of duty that’s still online on the 360 side.
Warhawk is still active was jamming it a few days ago, ya just need to change dns to the PSONE revival project dns and your good to go man! They have a website that explains the process for PSONE servers

I bought a PS3 Slim a little while back. I've had moments where I've been unsure wether I should keep it or not (I have a PS5) but I just can't seem to part with it. It's my most played console at the moment and I've been enjoying Max Payne 3, MX vs ATV Reflex and RAGE very much.

Also the most fun was when I was invited to a lobby I think it was WAR mode and either everyone was trying to snipe or there was an unwritten rule to use sniper rifles. It was last Sunday and a lot of fun,not sure if it was organised or what but yeah weekends and evenings are the best times.

I still love playing my 360, PS3 and, Wii just as much as my Series X and Switch. Played some COD online on 360 over the past few months. Been thinking about playing Killzone 2 online.
Might need to do something special to access Killzone 2 servers. I tried to play online and failed.

I Bought My First PS3 About A Week Ago For Au $50. Surprised How Many Games I could Buy For $1 Or Two. Only Just Touched On Arkham And Soul Calibur At This Stage. Have 18 Games To Try And Only $100 Or So In. THIS THING IS PERFECTION.
Ghosts and AW save your online stats as well and are fairly active 500 players during the day and 200 deep at night in Ghosts at least

Call of duty ghosts is still pretty strong on ps3 and saves multiplayer rank progression which is cool it’s still grindable ( I know it’s not a word)
the ranks not saving on some cod games is really weird, if you have an account from before 2019 i think that atleast played one game on any cod game it'll save on all of them im pretty sure, if you have a jailbroken ps3 there are some mods that can save your stats so you load them when you get back on but other than that i dont think there's a way to save them on new accounts which really sucks because if stats saved there would probably be alot more players

BO2 Team Deathmatch and Zombies still has a good amount of players online, Ghosts too. Unfortunately for MW2, MW3 and i think Black ops(?) you need an account made before 2017 or something
