I only knew about this because of my friend who’s deaf he uses this on his watch so he can detect things like his kid crying. Thanks Apple!
So that’s what this thing is forrrr e
That’s awesome.
I wish when iPad at home recognized a sound, sends a notification to my iPhone when I'm not at home. That could be amazing feature.
If you have an Amazon Alexa device such as an echo, you can set it up there and it’ll alert you if it recognizes a sound such as someone breaking in and alert you.
If it weren’t for this video, I woudn’t even know about Sound Recognition. Thanks!
Me either
@BENqWER Google came up with this about a year ago if I remember correctly but sure.
@@Danmanair this has been on iPhone for about 2 years
@@Danmanair just waiting for it to be completely finished
How do I use it do I need headphones or AirPods ??
I can see this being great for people with impaired hearing, I know it’s been a feature for a while
Hey if I remove a device from my Apple ID,will that device be signed out from the acc?

@@applesupport I love u Tim Cook ur awsome!
There needs to be an update for the ability to record a custom sound. My doorbell has a unique jingle, not the conventional doorbell sound as shown in this Tutorial. That would be an awesome update. You could train your phone to recognise these unique custom sounds in the way we use hey Siri to recognise our voices.
this feature is included in ios 16
This is the best feature in my opinion. For example, if you're watching a movie with your headphones on and you're alone in a home. If someone cracks something or any other sound emerges, this can easily capture it and help you prevent something big. Good feature. Use it wisely.
I know it long time ago! But Igual THANK YOU APPLE!!
Aside from this feature being cool and useful, I love the car emoji!!!! 🚗
Thanks, I was looking a few weeks ago a device that can hear when my home’s ring belt and notify me because usually I don’t hear it, but thanks to this video I’ll give it a try, thanks Apple.
It will surely help me a lot when my headphones are on. Thanks!
Love this feature! ❤️
Love this!
I wonder if this works when we have headphones in. Cause outdoors, dog barks and car horns will be pretty useful to listen for.
May be for deaf people… A good feature 👍🏽
Ya that's why it is in accessablity settings.
or maybe when you play music with ANC turned on and you are completely isolated from the outside world, huh?
YES! hopefully if they have a dog or dogs they'll use the 'bark' recognition option to alert them to GTF up and get THEIR dogs to STFU. Even just for outright oblivious dog owners it would be... helpful.
This is amazing
This is a genius idea, thanks for the video explanation.
This feature is cool !!
Wow I had no idea this was a thing, very cool
*Can it detect farts?*
*If so, that would be embarrassing in meetings…*

Really useful for when I have my headphones on and can’t hear when someone knocks at the door
Nice!
Now I know my cat 🐈 is real ! Thank you apple
I have tried this before and this is so cool!
Wow! Cool!
Lol when I’m on the train it recognises the moving train as a siren
Pretty nifty feature tho
This feature is cool
Can I use these as a trigger in Shortcuts?
This would be a good feature if it could notify in the earphones while I'm listening to music
This is amazing.
thank you apple, very cool
Can we custom add pressure rice cooker sound? Asians need it badly.
Ong🤣🤣
Great video
Nice video
Lol imagine it detects a baby crying…at 3 am….but u ain’t got no baby lol
Nice! ❤️
Fantastic feature while using my headphones…I dnt need to worry about someone ringing the door bell…BUT,the phone detects sound coming from its own speaker and notifications pops up!!!!any chance to isolate this?????
Most of the people here are making jokes about it but I think this is so helpful to deaf people!
I think Shortcuts it's the best friend of sound recognition
I do not want hey Siri to get disabled soul hopefully Apple update the sound recognition
Then rip battery maybe? Lol
So weird. I have this on and my Hey Siri still works :/
Excellent
iPhone in iOS 15 could Tell in Pop Up with Moving Bar with Graphic to Right on Too Loud if you Don't use Apple Watch or fon't have. It's excellent and Good Tim.
so cool
This Sound Recognition s a wonderful feature. If not for this tutorial, I would not have known it during the life of my XR. However, I am unable to digest the word "complications" in my Apple Watch. Can Apple not use any other meaningful word. Anyways, these days life has become too complicated to be sorted out easily :)
I want notification sound for much longer
Nice
Dog: A sound has been recognized that may be a dog.
Turns out it was just my neighbour.
This is so nice for noise cancellation headphones
wow impressive
I will try this.
Big help for deaf people
it’s pretty unfortunate you can’t use hey siri while doing this because hey siri can also be really helpful in emergencies
Can this be done across devices? Like can I enable this on iPad and can I get the alert on my iPhone?
did you find the time to test it? Maybe even when someone of the family has there device near the doorbell and you are in the garden, so i get a message on my phone, when someone is at the door?
The funniest thing happened. I was lying in my bed watching Netflix when I’m alerted of a smoke alarm going off. So I pause my show and listen. There’s a smoke alarm just outside my door, and it never went off. There is no way I would’ve missed it. No one in the house heard a smoke alarm either. I think it needs to be improved upon as I’m not the only one to who it’s sent false alarms to.
Hi there! It may have been that the iPhone recognized the sound off your TV. The article provided above does give you the option to turn off or chose which sounds you wish to be alerted for. Please remember we advise not to rely on your iPhone to recognize sounds in circumstances where you may be harmed or injured, in high-risk or emergency situations, or for navigation.

Underrated feature. I live in a big city & I have noise cancellation to automatically turn on my AirPods. when a siren gets close.
I tried more time to set up this feature in my 8+ bt didn’t get a good result , I’ll be pleased if anybody help me to set up the feature .

Apple's obsession on hiding good features under accesibility settings actually forced them to made a video about it cause noone knows about this lol

Creepy but could be useful for certain people. As long as the listened sounds are not sent into the ether.
Can you create shortcuts based on this?
yeah you can turn sound recognition on and off and select different sounds, but I couldn't find any option to run a shortcut when a sound is recognized
@@pietrog Damn, They should totally include the shortcut to do an action based in which sound is recognized
@@sigurdrolfsnes93 that would open up more ways to customise our device, that would be awesome.

Man sound like he’s from Disney infinity👌🌈
Today me and Alba were in a shower, then when I was finished (Alba got a bit more time than me), I saw a Sound Recognition notification on my iPad saying that it heard/recognised a sound of running water, and that may because the shower sounded like running water.
If I couldn't detect car horns myself, how am I supposed to detect a tiny notification?
After saying “hey Sir” in numerous different intonations this morning, can this be used to recognise my saying “hey Siri” to my iPad? 🤔😉🤷🏻♀️
I tap on sound Recognition and the entire settings app crashes on an iPad Pro first generation. Restarted and still crashes.
Unusual service 🤪🤪🤪
why there’s no 👉🏻 setting > accessibility > touch > back tap ? it’s more easy to screenshot with double tap on back of your iPhone 😅
