Thank you for the update. I totally get the appeal to explore more of the state. We are so fortunate here in Minnesota with all the trail systems around. I too am hoping to get down to Bentonville a few times this year. Looking forward to seeing you out on the trails.
Hi Shad, Shimano Deore-XTR levers do some weird things even after a proper bleed. Depends how you store your bike… I have two, either one stored vertically always ends up with lever throw to the bar on the rear brake only!… It’s a good way to expel all air from line from the caliper (having the bike - bars at higher-most) then perform a final bleed actually before riding - only fit the cup with a little fluid keeping the cup as horizontal as possible (don’t open the bleed path - air will come out with some gentle lever actuation into the cup) If it’s bled on/in frame typically air always accumulates in bends only time allows this to emerge to the lever storing bars highest, bike vertical or horizontal as I mention this happens on either bike after a reliable ‘solid’ feel bleed. I only begun to notice this in the last 18mths when I’ve stored the bike vertically (It’s something related to the bladder/diaphragm so bleed as I stress above and it’ll have bite until stored vertically again unfortunately!
With the money you get from the land you sell you can get a SWEET VAN! No I get your decision. I have a property by a ski/bike resort and as much as I love it, I'm also tied to it. It would be nice to be free sometimes and be able to travel to other cycling destinations
I was looking forward to your property plans, but I get it. You have to do what works for you and your reasons make perfect sense. My upgrade for this year is TRP DH-R Evo brakes. These current gen Shimano brakes just haven't had the consistency I've always loved about their brakes. I'm thinking a better dropper is next so an update on how you're liking the Resolve long term would be cool.
The Resolve has been good. I also have a PNW Loam dropper and they weigh the same and are equally reliable. The Wolf Tooth dropper has easier serviceability and is much...much smoother.
I've got Rocket Ron's in 2.6 on my 27.5 HT. Fast rolling and grippy! Had a washout though pushing it through a turn and need to step the front up a bit!
Rocket Ron's are fast, they are not as grippy as the other tires I was showing. Maybe leaving a Rocket Ron on the back and run a more aggressive front tire.
Good tip on taping. I put more aggressive tread on after a sand crash and feel much safer now with the wheel staying where I put it. Have fun down south!
Can you fit an under the seat lever activated dropper post on the swampmaster? I put a cheap one I found on Amazon on my DH bike and love the easy seat height adjustability without having to worry about cable routing to the handlebars.
You send the steep stuff and rock drops? Flats for steeps. Clips all other riding. You need to use clips yo! Why you run your brake levers on that Salsa so far down? Ive always had mine much further up and at a slight angle from bar.
I used to run clipless pedals almost exclusively. But ever since 510s and better platforms I rarely run clipless pedals and shoes unless I am gravel riding or doing a race/event.
Fillmore valves are great. Make it super easy to seat the tire bead in a tubless setup

I am there on Fillmore valves too. I would be interested in a meet up ride this year.

Do as you please, and keep yourself happy !
cant wait to see your bentonville trip and the trails , i use a 30/9 gear to hit my bag 😂 🎉
😮 Are your legs tree trunks or something?
@@ShadLifenope 43 year old skinny chicken legs been on a 30 /9 for over 10 years 😂
I’m with Murphy 😎 🌞

I believe it's a standard 25.4mm BMX seat post. I think droppers start at 27.2mm.
Looking forward to the Swampmaster experiments.
Murphy is so cute!

@@ShadLife flats are def a cooler look!
