This answers literally every beginners questions and give amazing advice
If I had this when I started I would be in paradise
Dude, u play paintball?
This was indeed a very good video, the problem now is that I wanted to spend around 800 but now I want to spend around 1300 hahahaha
The first :30 contains a lot of qualifiers that have nothing to do with the title or the subject matter. Who is he talking to? Who would assume that everyones needs are the same? Thats why we have chocolate and vanilla and nobody in the western world drives a Lada. He doesn't need to open by tearing down a strawman.
Speedball guy here
this is the holy grail of budget fpv drone buying guides.
I‘m in fpv now for 9 month. Climbed the ladder from 1.6 inch whoop to 5 inch in the analog world and then changed to digital. Your tutorials are first class 🏆 and helped me a lot. 100% recommendation for people getting startet with this phantastic hobby 🤙
hehe FANtastic y'know like a prop is a fan kinda
@@boomcraftgaming ...
the 65mm whoop is a great starter. you can flip them around indoors all day long. Winter. Rain. Day or Night.
3inch 3s toothpick for sub-250 freestyle outdoors. 5 inch+ if you really like throwing that weight around.
go with ELRS right away imo. Its the future. Will be cheaper than all the other options. And also has the best range/latency. Opensource ftw
The quality and effort in this video is on another level! Props to you my man! (pun intended hehe)
One man cannot get enough props!
Lol
First thing I'm gonna need is a laptop for the simulator.
Apparently the DJI simulator runs on a phone and is compatible with transmitters of all kinds just like any other sim.
@@PerfectlyNormalHumans no.
Only with Dji fpv controller V2
@@thefox4944 lol figures.
These are some of the best series of videos and information for starting out that I've come across. Just binged through several that you've put out. Thanks for the incredible amount of work and effort you've put into these!
Bro you put so much work into your videos and it shows🔥🔥 keep it up man mad respect
My fear getting into this hobby is ensuring parts and builds are compatible and this video was so useful! Thank you, great job!
Bro ive been in fpv from the beginning and wish i had vids like this back in the day to help me. You explain everything so well , easy to understand. You have a real gift . Ive just received a 3" with a vista in the mail and luv it , you will not be disappointed in the HD 3"
Cheers for the great content 👍
I appreciate that! It's not a gift though... I just really wished I had a vid like this too.
Great video for new people! Been on and off flying for 6 years now. I’d definitely recommend spending as much as possible if you know you’ll love it. I’ve spent too much over time slowly upgrading things. When I should of just went full out right away.
your videos are so good!!! see you at 100k subs next year!
Well thought out, comprehensive video. Nice job Matt. Seems clear why your subs have been steadily increasing.
You are the best FPV channel for people that are interested to learn and get into the hobby. It was such a headache for me to research everything but if I ha found your channel sooner I would just have watched all your videos and known everything!
Fantastic video for people trying to get into this highly engrossing hobby.
One other note to make about the Tinyhawk EMAX kits. The controllers are infamous for their QC issues - they quickly begin to suffer of throttle stutter. It happened to mine, and I had to wait weeks to get a replacement. Apparently you can remedy the problem by opening up the controller and cleaning out the throttle gimbal, but I sold mine off so I wouldn't know how well that works. Just something to keep in mind for anyone considering the EMAX RTF kits.
Hi Matt, just want to leave a huge thank you for giving me advice and me buying my first fpv drone. Awesome video, keep it up.
Brilliant research and a huge amount of work there. Thanks, Matt.
Super interesting and also gives me ideas on an upgrade path as well! Thanks for all your work putting this together.
Thanks Matt! I am just starting with the hobbie now. Bought my first EMAX Tinyhawk II Freestyle RTF. It might be arriving soon. Already using Liftoff but with PS controller...but I am feeling much better already on the simulator! That is a great idea for beginners! Start with a new nice FPV radio and one of the simulators.
Wow I was searching all day and couldn’t be happier to have come across this video! Definitely made my decision easy! Keep it up my man
Awesome man! Glad it helped
Best video I’ve seen as a newbie. I love the modular approach. Thanks!
I love watching your videos. I just recently discovered fpv drones flying and I’m so intrigued. I havnt bought anything yet so this video is very helpful.
I am just on my first thoughts of jumping into the game, and really appreciate this. Great info
I did watch it from beginning to end! Thanks a lot, great video and the fact that you own so much of this things yourself really gives your words "weight".
This guide is absolutely amazing! Great job, really appreciate it!
Awesome review and suggestions! Thanks for taking the time to do this for us. Makes a HUGE difference for us beginners!
This is totally brilliant. Such good information and the ability to visualize growing in the hobby even if you only have $100 to invest up front. Thank you!!
This was an amazingly detailed video. Subbed! Thank you very much!
probably one of the best videos I seen recently. thanks!
Wow Matt, I actually watched it from beginning to the end. I can only imagine what a tremendous effort you made. Thank you. I have been flying fixed wing planes and was wondering if I can directly start with drones without a simulator?
Great video! I've been flying fpv for a while, but it is still interesting to watch! Great job! I only bought one battery when I started😂
Omg thank you. All the recommendations are like 100 and then 700-800. I'm cool with spending money but man it's hard to find the info for a happy medium. Yours provided that thank you.
Subscribed! Matt, your videos are well thought out and very helpful. Keep up the good work!
This is awesome, thank you for the document with the gear! Hope to get some stuff in soon.
This clip is amazing. You literally answered every question that i pretty much had. Thank you thank you!😊good shit. Great content man.
This is a very valuable video for ppl who want to start flying FPV. Thanks a lot for sharing so much experience!!
Love this channel! Keep it up! I got into this amazing hobby only a month ago, and start building my 3th Quad next week, after one Longrange Quad, and a cinewhoop 😅
I've been flying a few months now and I still found this helpful
Wow! You did an awesome job putting this together, hopefully it helps some new peeps out!
Filled the cart as I went. $1600-ish and a few DHL packages later, DJI Goggles V2, Nazgul 5 HD, Crossfire nano, Axii HD antennas, 100c 4s batteries, HOTA charger, and tomorrow is 65F outside for my maiden flight! Thanks for the tips Matt!
Thank you so much, this really helped me settle on what FPV drone to buy.
Idk anything about drones and I’m trying to get into my first fpv setup. This video was great thank you
I always look forward to your videos ill watch them no matter what they are.
WOW! Thanks so much for this video, ill definitely look to get some fpv gear for my birthday!
that's exactly what i wanted! love this video!
Hi Matt, thank you, this video explains a lot. It cleared a lot of questions I had. Looking forward for my first quad. But need to build that simulator hours . And practice practice and more practice.
Great video as always! Super informative and easy to follow!
Watched the whole thing from beginning to the end. I got the Mobula 6HD because of you and I freaking love it can't wait to upgrade soon. I would love to see a video dedicated toFPV goggles (Eachine EV800D's, Skyzone's and DJI V1 HD antenna's and all upgrades to get less break-up and better range preferably on a budget lol.)
Great video! Literally exactly what I’m looking for, thank you!
Thank you once more for this great update. Yes, I indeed enjoyed it from the beginning till the end. 😊
This video is great honestly it helped me out a lot. I ordered a freestyle 2 but it came with a broken camera so I ordered a mobula 6 and i couldn't be happier with it. Also I never hear people mention the jumper t12 pro for a budget transmitter but its what I picked up and its fantastic especially for 90 bucks
Fantastic matt! I'm entering the fpv world to film windsurfing and this will surely help me on my way :)
Thanks Dude, just getting into this and your video rocks brother!
You are awesome! Crystal Clear vídeos and informations! Thank you!!
Great video, great help for us, the beginners! Thank you!
Thanks for the great video! After watching i really want to start into fpv drones 😮
You deserve tons of followers with this quality content! 🤟🏼
Is sad I don't have this video when I started in the hobbie!
That is the video I've searched for, perfect!!!! 😊👍👍👍
Great advice thank you can’t wait to buy one!
Great video man! I wish I had watched this video about a week earlier. It would have saved me from having to do sooooo much research
Thanks for making it so easy for everybody's wife to figure out how much they've spent so far... good recap on my expenses over the last year.
My god this is awesome. I rearely comment but this is gold. Thanks a lot Matt.
Very useful information! Congratulations ! Great job :)
I did watch the whole thing. Just to see if I can agree with what you're saying. Good job! I think lots of beginners will find this video and your kits very useful. Keep up the good work
amazing video man! So helpful!
Best video tbh very in-depth helped me out alot.
Mad video extremely informative keep up the awesome work
Just started using liftoff with an Xbox one controller, and I’m getting really good after 2 hours with acro mode. Haven’t tried any other of the modes, but on the tree maps I’m able to weave in and out of the trees, fly up high, dive, go back in the trees and slow down without crashing too much. Loving it so far. Also the liftoff music slaps.
Great video.
Thank you for the time you put into it.
For my first drone I chosed kit for self-soldering. It was increateble when it flyed at first try!) Thank you for your videos!
I want to do the same thing, but self-soldered kits are kinda bad in component quality.
Especially compared to something like Nazgul 5
Hope there will came something good a couple of months later. For now, just TX-12 (which is a very good low level radio) and some simulators.
Если, конечно, разберусь с подмосковной бюрократей. Российские законы - треш.
(Of course, I'll buy it only if I will be certain in my ability to get a lawful way to fly in the Moscow region. Russian drone laws are bullshit.)

This is a really good video, very detailed and good advice.
The legend has uploaded
Superbly edited as ever 😉
The problem with DJI is the money and the weight of you're into micros.
The problem with the sky02 (which I own!) Is that they're not high enough resolution for the byte frost 2...
Accordingly I would sit back and wait until competition builds up and then jump to digital. I'm sure the orcas and sky's are working on such solutions too.
Great job, as a newbie it really helps. Thanks
Ur vids are so well created and so true
Watched all of it! 😁👍 Like your videos, hope to see more from you about 2.5-4" quads! I personally have a couple of TH2F and I'm looking into the Flywoo explorer for future expansion. In terms of transmitters, I was surprised that you didn't mention the TBS Tango 2. 😅
Absolutely useful info that we all need to know.
I’m two months late but I love this dude so far he reminds me of the dude from good girl (the show) and he gives out good information
For let's say €350 I got the eachine x220s rtf kit but instantly changed things in betalfight and changed the props, got an extra 4s 2700mah battery, and the ev800 goggles and a better lipo charger it's been a month and im loving it.
You earned a subscriber just for how well this video is setup
All the more you needed was convince us you're reliable by telling us how many hours you have flown xD
I think that DCL Simulator is the best for beginners and the most fun too. You don't can build different drones, but you have three prebuild ones. But it has outstanding maps(!) including an animated town with cars, trains, and helicopters and the oil bando with trains, birds and very cool buildings. It also has the best performance for me (as it is a proper Unreal Engine). It also gives you a really nice online racing environment.
When I was getting into FPV a few years ago, I knew I definitely wanted a BNF so I could get in & learn both flying & repairing right away. The repairing led to eventually building. To be honest, I enjoy building just as much as flying. Seems like every few months I get the desire to build a whole new quad, smh. Lol.
Thx for the into. I am new and am looking into Building my own due to saving money is my type of thang. Thanks for the tips
Awesome video - full of good info - Thanks!
Good info, and well thought out. You're missing out on a lot of fun with nothing in the 3" size. Some great options to look into would be the FPV Cycle TP3, the Five33 Tiny Trainer, or the Racer X Twig XL. Most of these are running 1303 or 1404 size motors at 5000 kv on 3s 450mah batteries. BetaFPV sells a rtf version of the Twig XL in collaboration with Racer X if you don't want to pay for shipping from the US. Have fun flying out there!
honestly as soon as possible go from 3 inch to 5 inch as it's much more stable
@@anythingandeverything700 thx, thats what I supposed.
Great video 👍Thanks for this information. Helped me. I’m in process of upgrading from my whoops
Man your video truly awesome really really inform me into the world of fpv drones a community purchase my first DJI there too and I'm really interested in moving into that direction sometime in the future. Although you hit it out of the park with this video the only thing that comes to mind that I would have changed or added was the actual distance on each upgrade instead of just saying significant more range.
Hey tap, tap buddy thank you very much from beginning to end you little devil you made me a subscriber and anticipate a lot more excitement watching your videos laters.
great and useful practical video! thanks!
Amazing video as usual!
I’m goi g for the crossfire with the nazgul Thanks!
Great video once again, I just bought a tinyhawk freestyle and tinkering with it. So far it's pretty cool! I do have a request, as you know we've got new drone rules in the EU. For normal drones the rules are pretty clear, but for fpv they are just weird. It looks like you need to register every drone with a camera. Yes even the 20gram Mobula 6... If you're looking for a new topic for a new video, this might help a lot of people! Happy flying!
Hello, I’m Markus from Germany and I‘m very exited to look your videos 👍 I‘m flying a few DJI Drones and think about change to the FPV Hobby.
This is great!!!
Very helpful, thank you!!
I would recommend getting the Radiomaster TX16 and Simulator to start out with. I flew analog on DJI FPV goggles with Rapidfire for a few months since, I knew I was going to get into digital.
Thanks for making the content for international customers. 👍 Many Americans don't consider the wider audience.
I decided to go a slightly different direction. I have some pretty awful goggles (hoping to upgrade soon) a Qx7 and a Cidora SL-E. Before I upgraded to the Cidora I had a Tinyhawk Freestyle but I'm really happy I upgraded to a 5 inch. It's so much more fun to fly
Edit: the total price of my current gear was around 500 bucks. Also I think it's worth mentioning that while 5 inches are great they require a lot more space to fly around and are super powerful, so if you want to fly in your backyard I would stick with the Tinyhawk Freestyle 2.
Fantastic video. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this...sadly, being from the UK, most of these prices are nowhere near accurate to us Brits. UK tech prices are always horribly inflated. Meaning $100 item in the US, costs almost £100 in the UK, despite the pound being technically stronger to the tune of £1.00 = $1.40 Your $300 setup as an example, costs £250 ($347). It's the same here for PC components. Not blaming you or calling you inaccurate, mind. Just me venting at this country's ridiculous inflated tech prices!!!
Great video i got my first setup for christmas. I already had a DX6s from airplanes and i got the EV800D and a Eachine Tyro109!!!! Just waiting on a few more parts then i can try it out!! spent ~300CAD excluding radio and batteries i already had from flying rc airplanes.
Great video Matt! I Just ordered the BetaFPV Literadio 2 from a dutch webshop and the DRL simulator via steam. Let's just get some simulator time first; before I go all-in on that whole FPV thing! :-)
Thank you so much for this video 🙏
