  • With some basics out of the way, we are ready to get a sense of the overall structure of the immune system. That will mean looking at the lymphatic system. We already looked at this system in the context of its involvement in the circulatory system, in our study of human anatomy and physiology. But we did not examine its immune function, and this will be critical to our understanding of immunology, so let's get a closer look now. Get ready to learn about lymph nodes, the spleen, the thymus, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, and more!

Thank god you have so many in depth videos on the immune system. It is an overwhelming amount of information to wrap my brain around. I'll probably have to watch these a buncha times to actually "get" it though.

I’ve seen one(?) picture with an APC-cell and many with dendritic cell that present an antigen to a T-helper cell. Why did you not use the term APC-cells (mostly dendritic cells, b-lymphocytes and macrophages) for the antigen presentation?

In the NALT and BALT when you said after they capture antigen and it becomes available for digestion? Does that mean that they reuptake and put it back in mucous so it can be digested by the digestive system? Or cellular digestion by APCs?

Well, the existence of trans people demonstrates it conclusively. But we have been figuring out the neurological basis of gender for a few decades now. Though still genetic, it is not the same as sex, which is determined strictly by the sex chromosome.
