- Wow it has ALL GONE WRONG today tarted the day off getting a stone through the beet chopper which isn’t an actual dilemma just a time consuming one so we needed to empty the beat chopper out and find the stone which looked like a piece of beat and then fill it back up. Change the sheer bolt and then started up again fix last night. Major problem of Roy , backing the Merlot into something and breaking the isolator switch on the back of it so that the machine didn’t start once you had stopped it. We tried to rectify this problem with the hillbilly approach, then decided against it and rang somebody to help parts are on their way, but until then we’ve put a bolt through, and this will make do do so then the bobcat coupling was leaking oil, so we put a new end on. Then the bulk tank arrived. This was a big purchase for us and a very exciting one. If not nerve racking to unload thank you Mark for the loan of your pallet for extenders. It really was very helpful and we managed to get it off the lorry without straps on the book tank when it is in situ, but we need to concrete the room out that it is going in
in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
we are in a transitional period at present and will finally be milking cows and making the final switch later this year, after years of planning and implementing infrastructure we will be milking 120 Jersey cows on two Lely robots. This will be a huge change and a steep learning curve
I will be taking you all along for the ride so hit that subscribe button and see you every other day for farming vlogs.
I am overjoyed to be a farmer. I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

Many people don't realise that the lovely friendly lorry driver you had today Monday wasn't at the Sunday lunch dinner table, instead he was heading towards the ferry to be at your doorstep typical of Irish and Northern Ireland freight drivers
Exactly and he had three kids :) he was a Scottish fella picked the trailer up from stranrear :)
@@charlotteashleyfarm merlo isolator undo both nuts and swap all the wiring onto just one post for now
That was a lovely video of you Charlotte and you are busy on the farmer ❤❤❤❤
Does Roy like you doing videos seems quite all the time love the channel ❤
once upon a time us delivery drivers used to get a belly bursting meal when we delivered to a farm and we always used to brag which farmers wife was the best cook
Hey I always offer 😍😍😍😍 that fella was lovely
Great video as always Charlotte
Why do you have a fish in your water tank. I was wondering the other day but never asked. It won’t be long till you are all up and running with the new shed, keep up the good work
Mad here too , we aren’t watching this as a clan today just taking a breather after breakfast and said what better way to relax than see how hectic your life has been for the last few days! Must say that only for paddy the Irish man you would have naff all stuff in that shed ( said NAFF just to be CZcams friendly, it’s not a word that you would hear this side of the pond but I thought it was appropriate! ) . Regards from Ireland! The only place to get your dairy equipment apparently!
I’m Irish at heart 🥰🥰🥰
I just applied for a job delivering farm machinery ,just to be in that environment, if we win the lotto we are buying a farm
Proving once again never throw anything out and you'll find a use for it one day.
Great vid nice to get tank in 👌👍
I would be like yourself, never throw things out you will need it some day 😂. You should get a couple of bolts for that vice to save you chasing it around your bench 😂😂. Great video Charlotte as always.
Never a dull moment eh! 😂 I love that you’ll have a go at anything but then I suppose that’s farmers for you, you have to be very resourceful . ❤
Absolutely love your videos keep it up
Glad you like them! Thank you so much x x
Another enjoyable video , now Monday evening is complete . Just like the way you make everything you do so enjoyable, keep it coming Charlotte you make things so much brighter in these uncertain times.
Hi Charlotte, an interesting collection of content this time round. A lovely Sunday roast with veggies with your home grown meat. Yummy! It proves hanging on to excess building material will someday come in handy and save money. You and Roy are having a kind of break from the building work and now just going around smashing into things. Aviation Update! 😅 The arrival of the milk tank adds another piece to the puzzle of your robot dairy. Chris from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺.
Ooohhhhh.. dinner looked amazing 😊
I'd do anything for some gravy 😅 ❤
What a day or two!
Think you'll need all the lintels to make a massive window!
Love hearing you talk to people. You get very northern, yet you lose it a bit talking to camera 😂😂
HA HA HA HA HA your not wrong I notice that
Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte 😁 you don't have to thank me for watching, as I've said before, you always brighten up the day 😅 I have to watch you ! The sheds coming along great ! Keep them coming, you're wonderful !!

Nice vid lass ok keep em comeing ok be safe
Thanks Lee hope your okay x x
@@charlotteashleyfarm yep all good here thank you
Good to see you using so much irish product in your shed. Keep it Up !! Going to be a lovely set up when its done. When you were on about a patio door in the office yo ucould put in one with a Julian balcony ( google images & youll see what i mean) where you could open in the doors & look out.
My old dad used to say there was a 12 year cycle for things to come in handy. If you've had it for 3 cycles and not used it, then you can chuck it.
That's what I was Charlotte a class one HGV driver for a supermarket chain, now I am the other end of the food chain.
Please tighten your grab tines, otherwise you`ll end up with a very worn hole.
Very good idea to bolt the terminals together, you might have had a problem with the alternator not charging otherwise, also ecu,s don't like low voltage. Don't be afraid of getting a shock from 12v dc you won't but be careful of a poor connection as it will get very hot very quickly.
im late ❤😢 sorry im still in work
I managed to leave a gate open on a pen of 14 cattle twice in the one week in January. It was my fault nothing the cattle did. It is amazing at times how you make work for yourself. The cattle had fun on both occasions
Ha ha ha ha they always do don’t they prancing about x
Evening Charlotte😊, do you need a little reversing camera😉
Yum
Great vid as ever. Poor Merlo picking up a battle scar😢😢. Nevermind It happens. Top bit of driving from the truck driver. What i always wanted to do as a kid but diabetes put pay to that. Anyway i'm a whitevan man instead😊
mm ok had to be honest loving the red hair beautiful Charlotte xx
Northern boys&girls luv gravey 😋
Gravy is LIFE
Looking forward to when that bulk tank's got some milk in it! Are you planning on doing milksure training?
Ask Tom p if the tank will b big enuf lol
A fine Irish built bulk milk tank there all the way from Co Cork . Have you found the irish built gear good quality and cheaper ?
Yes I have actually and very sturdy!! The bolts were hard to put in the cubicles but apparently it’s structural and makes it all stronger
Than hygienic?
Nowhere near the amount or frequency of damage and destruction that you might see on a Beef & Arable Farm in South Yorkshire though. Hate to think what that Bulk Tank cost 💸💸💸
HA HA HA HA well…. Our machines are smaller and there is only us to blame so we tend to be a bit careful 😂😂
tighten that bolt on the barn gate they use there tongue to escape they like playing with light switches too
Ha ha ha have you noticed the light is always on they love messing with that
What would living in the stone building look like?
You really need to clean the windows on your tractors, telehandler and skidsteer, maybe then you won't run into things as often.
Oh Charlotte you f*******cked up 🫣 😅
I bloody did not 😂😂 ROY did
You might find that the battery runs flat as it might not charge
Hopefully a new part will be with us soon x x
two ft hi window max dont want the cows spotting you watching them
Roy!!!!
ROYYYYYYYYYYYY FML
Appleby Castle, Appleby-In-Westmorland, Cumbria, CA16 up for sale. Just £9.5 million. 🤪

Are you inferring that the dog is less that hygienic?
HA HA HA HA I am 😂😂😂

I'm afraid that the repair costs for the Merlo will have to come out of your salary

stop saying good morning children im 60 i like your videos but it pisses me off
Tough shit kid I’m gonna say it forever
Well I'm 68 and it don't bother me!
Is everyone watching in there 60s? Or maybe it’s just the three of us 😂
I’m nearly 71 and I don’t mind it one bit.
I'm 56 and I think it's funny being called children ,specially as I have a sense of humour that can be childish and who the hell wants to loose their inner child . Plus it's a saying rather than meaming you individually is a child .if your getting upset over one word we'll need I say more.
