- Cows on the move today all must go we need to start making way for the jerseys to come, shed update, thought the tup had bit the dust but he just had a sore foot. First auction visit out of four in three days!!
in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
we are in a transitional period at present and will finally be milking cows and making the final switch later this year, after years of planning and implementing infrastructure we will be milking 120 Jersey cows on two Lely robots. This will be a huge change and a steep learning curve
I will be taking you all along for the ride so hit that subscribe button and see you every other day for farming vlogs.
I am overjoyed to be a farmer. I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

That's a class video of you Charlotte and them was class cattle that you have and we'll feed to keep up the good work with your cattle Charlotte ❤❤❤❤❤❤you were looking so beautiful
Hi Charlotte, the cubicles look stunning and that part is finished. Roy is following you, so is he listening or just trying to get into the shot. Your main job of growning out cattle is coming to an end and it doesnt seem you will miss them. Your night lense works well, but a false alarm at that time in the morning is not good. So it's all go to clear everything out and then a big clean up to be ready for your next phase of your families life of being dairy farmers. It's all falling into place now. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
The Blair witch moment made me jump, you went from chatting about cows, to its dark upstairs. 😂😂👍🏼
I think Blair witch used torches, I’d have forgotten to have charged them or forgotten to buy batteries 🙈😂
I saw the new Farming Britain video with it's new Star! She was very informative as usual, but not nearly as much fun as on her own videos!
Great video as always.
To protect the blockwork, could you use something like
thompson's water seal, even over the rendering? (Just a thought as I'm not a builder).
Great video Charlotte
Thank you!x
Poor Tom he tried.
Very nice vid getting rid of a few .youl be putting some miles on that tractor ok be safe youz to
Thanks, you too! And yes it’s getting some stick at the minute
Great video Charlotte. Am loving watching and seeing how proud you are of your cows (as you should be). Well done to you and Roy and the family. Hope they sell well as you deserve it after all the hard work you all put in to the farm and your animals. Thanks again for such great content. Will
Thanks will that’s so kind hope they do well it all goes toward the jerseys x
Children have to be watched 24/7 😊
They do 😂😂😂
Ref to night watch in the fields... How about a small drone with the night vision attached somehow?
Wowww that would be cool wouldn’t it
great stuff
Awesome guy's cheers 👍🏻
Thank you, genuinely means something when someone takes the time to comment x
Great update Charlotte, certainly keeping yourselves busy!
24 hours in a day and all that, I just need sleep too though 🙈😂xx
Give a look at the Once a day Farmer. He videos his Jersey cows and lives in New Zealand.
I watch him he’s cool isn’t he very active on Facebook he keeps popping up x x
Great video Charlotte, hope all go well at the sale .
First one done and happy, two more tomorrow! X
Oh the sheep are the free entertainment 😅 today, never let us down..Roy might just say Charlotte its you or the sheep must go😂
I can see it getting that way Rita wait until lambing they are coming in next week 😂😂😂😂 then the carnage starts
Great busy update Charlotte......best of luck with all your auctions.....exciting times ahead!!!!
Thanks Raymond those cows should do well they were heavy heavy animals the others will be a bit lighter
Good luck with your sales Guys

Another very busy day for you both, hope the auctions are a great success, you deserve it 😊xx
Great prices super pleased
A great video Charlotte, your cattle Remind me of my monkeys 😅. I got one what is pushing me around, I think he wants me to ride him lol😊😮😂😂
The trough dweller is not the sharpest pencil in the box!
Ha ha ha honestly I walked in and thought what on earth has been going on here
Well girl glad to see you busy! Here’s me imagining you sitting up in the armchair with your feet up on the aga ( cold of course since you’re to miserable to buy a bit of oil😂😂😂) and your running around in the middle of the night looking for lambs that haven’t been born yet and then spending all day selling off cattle! If I had bumped into you years ago I would have given you a job but the way things are going I might be over there looking for one yet! Hope you get a rob for the cattle ( or should I say got) we are searching the internet for life jackets for cows cause if we let them out their gonna need them, silage is running out and the pits are full and yet it keeps on raining! Word of advice if you’re gonna put that plastic sheets up on the dairy walls plaster the walls first ( inside and out) because the blocks are slightly pores and if water gets in behind it it will blister and crack and look horrible ( also cause you to fail a dairy inspection) but if it is nicely plastered why bother with the plastic? Next comment is walk into your cow shed and see how high the sh1t gets and then go up a foot that’s how high you need to plaster the wall because if the blocks get crap on them they will stain and no amount of power hosing will make them look clean. Now I’m gonna see what you said to Ollie as he seems to have devoted today’s piece to you. Regards from Ireland, I hope you don’t mind the unsolicited comments not really advice more observations from an elder lemon oh and the crack about the aga was due to the fact that I was not let turn ours off because the little ones would be cold in the kitchen and just put ANOTHER €1750 worth of kerosene in the bloody tank must be the third time this winter, next year ill buy snow suits for the little blighters it will be way cheaper even if they grow out of them every month or two!
I bought a "Wilkes" pressure washer from amazon or eBay Made in USA twice as much poke as the K5 it was replacing. Massive hose, loads of accessories and most importantly not too costly. 😊
Aren’t they dear now I think a foamer might be the way forward someone has advised me
Night vision equipment, you really do have MI 6 connections
Shhh tell nobody!x
❤❤❤ 👍👍👍
Granny knows who you are ❤️❤️❤️ czcams.com/video/FmoDgYd4Gdg/video.htmlsi=wCZowfOnwEIfGAGn
Ur bulk tank comes from where I'm from 😊
YES YES YES any inside gossip 🤣🤣🤣
@@charlotteashleyfarm no not really, great company & great product, ye have chosen well I'd say 😃
Just seen the video of Olly’s at yours, shed looks cool. With the roller imprinted concrete, there’s some gear you spray on before rolling that stops it sticking and hardens the surface. Smells of bumble gum.
I’m sure I’ve seen a video of Oll’s where he called it some kind of Kuwaiti special oil, hence mentioned the product derived from crude, there will be better answers I’m sure x
Red heads conquer the world i know i am married to one ,do you still notice the odours of farming ?happy paddys day weekend ❤
Nooo not at all even a bit 😅😅😅 and I STINK of farm especially with over clothes on that you stick over your leggings they get filthy but they are warm
ava pressure washers come with 10 year warranty cheaper than karcher and fit karcher bits lookem up
Tups are more troublesome than a bunch of teenagers on a Friday night,
I'm sure there was studies about castrating lambs or not and there was only about 4 weeks difference in the the lambs being big enough to slaughter, castrated being 4 weeks slower.
We looked too far in to it and convinced ourselves due to leaving bulls as bulls, we nipped those this time so lambs stand no chance of retention!x
You two have been busy. It’s going to be strange without the cows to look after until the new heard arrives. At least you should have more time to get on with everything else. You didn’t finish the story about the ball you missed 😂
I KNOW MY BATTERY WENT I’ll do it tomorrow
When is Roy going to get in front of the camera? He’s always hanging around trying to get his face on flim !?
Ha ha ha he totally
Loves it
And they can afford them
I was having a look at mayo site. All the pictures show the neck rail mounted on top of the cubicle rather than underneath. Is it optional depending on cattle size?
Yes these are on the underneath :) they do give you some amazing plans to go off
@@charlotteashleyfarm You did read the plans after all🤣
Great video, but you are still not using a fork to bed up. Should I get you one?
Ha ha ha I’d loose the fork and spend more time walking about looking for it than using it
You are popular with children of all ages
Ha ha I am 🤣🤣🤣 they sense my childishness you see
What will you be doing with the sheds at big roys when you move on to jerseys?
I think he’ll probably downsize, it a bit big for one person x
With the jerseys are you getting a bull or A/I them?
IA we don’t want a bull about /)
Second
Third today paddy how are you doing are you keeping well happy at Patrick’s day a day late x x
I’m ok. How are you doing Charlotte xx
Did Sandi Brock also pay you and Tom a visit?
Ha ha no I’m afraid she won’t have a clue who I am Johnty I’m a small fish in a big pond
Not that small a fish, maybe next time. She’s not my cuppa tea but does have a huge following.
One thing that can be counted on in every video is more delinquent sheep behavior
They are getting worse honestly the stress they give me is more than trying to make blooming piano lessons in the middle of ALL that
1st?
SECONDDDDDDD valiant attempt
@@charlotteashleyfarm In any case, today I am in favor of the almost unbeatable Paddy.😂😂
After an initial purchase of £100 a head, with food, bedding, veterinary care for 7½ years can you make any money on that ?
Will you be keeping any for sentimental, pet reasons ?
Children's favourites etc ?
( Barnard castle is a bloody long way ! )
They have had a lot of calves, they ticked over but the cost of feeding a cow is CRONIC
STOP LOOKING at Range Rovers Jeremy Clarkson said the new Range Rovers are bad he and Harry Metcalf will not a new Range Rover now
Ha ha ha ha I don’t want one I can afford it 🤣🤣🤣 I want a morris 1009
First❤
Wheyyyyyyyyyyyy mark is the WINNER WINNER DUCKOCHICKEN DINNER
