My dad took me and my brother to see Slipknot when I was 10. And it was fucking amazing! The drum set rose up and had a pentagram on fire! It was magnificent!
This is a mosh pit , what you're talking about is a circle pit , and Alessandro's bass just don't have the headstock with the tuning keys, you tune it on the other side of the bass ,near the pickups
5:42 that’s actually a bass, and some advantages of having no headstock are that if a tuning peg has a loose screw, or is rusty, it can go out of tune easily and you have to get that fixed. If you don’t have a headstock, you won’t have that problem. Also if you have a headstock it is placed in a position where the string has to bend at the nut to reach the peg, which creates stress on the strings and they are more likely to break.

The thing that amazes me the most here is Coreys scream
It is so close to his IOWA scream and has hints of AHIG scream which really goes to show how dedicated Corey is to performing at his best.
I was just thinking the same thing about Corey's mask. Was not a fan of it in the video, but seeing it live makes it look kind of badass. I like how it forms to his face and kind of has the movement of real skin.
Pits usually have pushing, cyclones and running. If someone is hurting people they normally get their ass kicked.

I'm amazed you haven't stumbled upon Of Mice & Men, you should definitely check them out and do a reaction! The songs Defy, and Instincts are good, heavy and melodic. Back To Me is a little lighter but damn good. Do your ears a favor and check them out.

I've seen slipknot twice, and frankly that is not enough for me. They have SO much energy live and the crowd can feel it, and once that happens.. all hell breaks loose and it is the best feeling ever. I get goosebumps even thinking about it.. so YES! GO SEE THEM!!

I saw Slipknot live for the first time in Dallas September 5th 2015 the day after my 17th birthday and the last show of the tour highly recommend seeing them live definitely in my top 5 best live performances I've saw so far they're probably #1 right up there with Korn being a really close second and Lamb Of God (who were the other headlining band when I saw Slipknot) are in third but all 3 are amazing live

I'M FINALLY SEEING SLIPKNOT THIS AUGUST! AHHHHHH! I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED!!!! I've been a maggot for 18 years. A bucket list band for me and I'M STOKED
The bassist has what's called a headless bass. It doesn't have the headstock that a guitar or a bass would usually have and instead the tuning pegs are on the bridge at the other end of the instrument. It's supposed to help a bit with the balance of the instrument so it's easier to play standing up, although I've played one or two headless guitars in the past and not really noticed that much of a difference. Some people also have them because they think they look cooler hahahaha.
The bassist is actually close with my friend Chris, who is a guitar builder and has actually built a guitar and a bass for him as well as looking after his dog whilst he's on tour. He's a really sound guy and he's happy to talk to you about guitars/basses/amps/pedals etc. if you ever have a question about it. He used to be a guitar tech for Mastodon, Architects, Fightstar etc. before he joined Slipknot so yeah he's super knowledgeable about pretty much all aspects of guitar/bass stuff and he even helps design the band's live rigs these days.
You definitely need to see them live! They are amazing! This year, I decided to splurge a bit and travel to see them instead of seeing them when they came into town. I will be traveling to Des Moines to see them kill it in their hometown. I cannot wait! If you are near Iowa, I would say that you should consider going to that show, if the resale market isn't insane for that show.

The bass that V-man is playing is a custom headless bass (A Status Graphite S2 made in England). The bridge incorporates the tuning machines for each string.
