      Mister Miney Agreed, its all about reliability and accuracy e.g can i depend on it....yup I can. If i had a choice, i'd take an FN Five-seveN or maybe FNX or FNS 9. Because FN is a company I've used alot and depended my life on in the military. But at the price the Glock is an absolutely solid choice (although the FNS 9 is usually cheaper and better than a 19), utilitarian does the job, you can depend on it. If people hate on it, they are concerned about image or some crazy reason (some pseudo-justification BS), You've got to respect something reliable and solid like this.

    Just bought my first Glock (a 17 gen 4) a few weeks ago. I cleaned it took it to the range and I'm impressed with the trigger reset way better than the M&P. Yes I also purchased a 33 round "fun stick" for it as well.
    I also like the fact that you can shoot 22 LR with conversion kit.
    I think what ultimately drew me to Glock is the huge aftermarket and factory support as ease of field strip and detail strip.

      I did a lot of research and found out HK makes the best guns for the money. i switched from HK to glock because i am also very accurate with Any glock. ive shot a 9mm, 20, 21, 22, 23, 29, 30, 36, even the new 40.
      i feel betrayed by HK when i found out they dont really make a 10mm pistol. i felt like .40SW really stands for Short and Weak. i wish Santa would bring my a glock 29 gen4 10mm.

    • @Teo317
      @Teo317 Před 8 lety +5

      davidrx795 if you dont do stupid shit to it, it will last for very long time. Does HK uses better material, yes, will it outlast a glock, yes. Are you going to push it to the limit just to see? Im not.
      But here are a few reasons i went with glock
      Im very accurate with any glock that i pick up.
      Low bore axis, love it. After holding a glock HK feels taller.
      It shoots 10mm, that right there was the tipping point. HK has no 10mm handguns available. Even Sig made a p220 in 10mm if im correct.
      Interchangeable magazines, and plenty of accessories available for glocks.
      Extended magazine is about 50 bux, i was going to order an extended one for my p2000, it is 100 plus dollars. Makes no sense when i can get 2 for same price from glock. HK still feels better in my hand, so i left it to guard mom haha. I havent carried an HK in over a year since i switched to 10mm glocks.
      Also, if you like .45acp the compact g30 offers 10 plus 1 capacity, while the HK45c is only 7 or 8 plus 1 and weighs way more.
      Sorry HK is pretty and all, but glock gets the job done!!!

I am getting ready to purchase my first (personal) pistol, and I have been absolutely stymied by the choices available. I suppose that's kind of a nice problem to have. I also grew up with the 1911, and have spent nearly all of my time shooting and carrying my father's Colt series 80 service pistol. Frankly, I was going to just go ahead and get a Glock because of all the stellar reviews, but holding one felt totally alien to me. After watching this, I think I've realized I'd really rather get something that I'm more familiar with. I guess I'm kind of a sucker for blued steel and rosewood grips :) Thanks again!

      BillMcKn if you are in a state that limits magazine capacity, consider .45 caliber. Since they force you to give up the higher capacity of most Glock models, you might as well make each bullet count, the. 45s being 230 grains. I like the model 30, consider slim Frame, for CONCEALED Carry.

    • @hophead72
      @hophead72 Před 10 lety +1

      BillMcKn I have had a Walther PPX and shoot a Glock 19. The PPX has a high bore Axis and is ugly but shoots pretty well and the price is right. If you want a carry pistol go with the Glock 19. If you want a home defense gun at a good price and a good shooter get the PPX. I think walther has a good PPX rebate now. You get a extra mag and holster plus mag holster. I sold mine and got the PPQ and P99. both great pistols. If you are set on the Glock 19 and PPX i would say Glock 19.

    My first experience with the Glock was in 1986. As far as I know there were no other firearms using polymer frames so it was quite a conversation piece. It was so light compared to anything else I had handled. Little did I realize at the time, how popular they would become. Love them or hate them, they are good value for the money and reliable in my opinion.

    i made the mistake of my first glock being a 30SF as a concealed carry, and dont get me wrong, it was not a bad gun in and of itself, but 45 cal in a sf is not for a concealed carry owner who has not done copious amounts of training and practice. (as any carrier should) In my opinion that caliber needs to have a full frame for consistent accuracy. I recognized that it was ignorant of me to carry a gun i wasn't extremely accurate with, and when I tried a 9 mil variant (first 9 i ever owned) i immediately recognized the value in glocks insane versatility and options and immediately fell in love. Sidenote everything changed once I touched CZs though :)

You guys will probable won't believe me, but I paid only $225 for mine in 1987. I went through Glock's Armour course and their firearms instructor course as well. I went on to get my to get my Federal Firearms Instructor's certificate at FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) after that with my Glock 17. While I was at FLETC I obtained a Distinguished Weapons Expert Certificate. I have since bought a carbine conversion for my Glock which is super cool to have, believe me on that. I still have it and it is still performing like it did when I first bought it over 33 years ago. I stand behind it. Great video.

Went through various auto pistols I didn't care for, thank goodness for the Glock pistols. GREAT video on the Glock, Sir. One of the few I have watched where the presenter (you) didn’t condemn those who don’t like it (for whatever reasons) but effectively and matter-of-factly not only defended your love of the maker, but provided ample reasons as to exactly why. I appreciate you acknowledging the multitude of other brands and that you fully appreciate that it truly is completely up to the buyer as to what he or she chooses to spend their money on as their choice of weapon. I’ll admit I was never really a fan of Glocks mostly because I didn’t like their appearance and felt they looked cheap, but my mind has been changed (somewhat) after I actually sent a heck of a lot of rounds downrange through one. I am way more accurate with my Sig 226 Legion (modified), my 92FS (the first sidearm I purchased when I turned 18 some 30 years ago, and still have) as well as my 1911s (a competition hi-cap 9mm & a good ol’ .45 ACP), but I do appreciate the simplicity and overall design of the Glock 17 4th Gen which my brother-in-law allowed me to get familiar with.
    I appreciate your honest & entertaining reviews so keep up the good work!
