- The Glock Model 21 was introduced on 1990 and is part of their Large Frame Series. In 45 ACP caliber and 13+1 Magazine capacity, this is a Gen 3 SF (Short Frame) model that I purchased from AIM Surplus as a Police Trade In. Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! #GlockModel21 #Glock #45acp

Love mine. I have the Glock models 20, 21, 40, and 45. But it’s the 21 that’s in my nightstand. The .45 ACP is slow and fat like me, but I’m good with that.
Bump it up to 45Super
@Kev Campbell it is more than 45+P. Most handguns need a few mods to shoot it.
And tired & obsolete.
@Kev Campbell not interested in 10mm at all. I'd rather punch a 0.450 hole than a 0.401 hole
@Kev Campbell conversion barrel to what?
One of the best .45 acp pistols hands down. I have two from the early mid 90’s that I carried through a few places.
What gen
Best Glock I own !!! Over 12k rounds still going perfect
Sh*t.. that gun isn’t even broke in yet
You're not lying my cousin has the same one and it just keeps shooting no issues or problems besides being so big n blockly
How’d u keep count lol
@@emericas9 this may be dumb, but I email myself an updated round count after I shoot at range etc. My reasoning is should I ever sell the firearm, buyer will now exactly how used it is
@@randall9000 nah that’s actually really smart. Yea i was just curious bc i just go through boxes at the range without even thinking of how many i shot that day lol
The 21 was my choice for a service pistol as a LEO. Excellent stopping power and fully combat ready!
The reason a Police Sergeant ditched his G21 for a G17 was firepower. He was on his last magazine with only 2 rounds remaining. His final 3 shots were to the bad guys cranium. In the police academy, we watched a video of a Texas DPS trooper shoot an elderly skinny guy point blank to the abdomen. The trooper holstered his pistol because he was brainwashed that the big .45 was so devastating. It turned out the DPS had many failures with the Sig Sauer P220 and switched to a +P. They switched to the .357 Sig which was a stellar caliber.
Best friend just retired from Montana leo. The 21 was his partner through it all.
Stopping power of the G22 is far superior.
@@Glockhead1 nope !!
How many time did you “stop” someone with it?
I carried the Gen2 as a Deputy Sheriff in the 90s. Good weapon !!!!!
L
Just got the gen 2 yesterday, for 460, very good lucking pistol
I got this Glock’s little brother, the Glock 30. One of my favorite hand guns thus far
The Glock 21 is so badass I own two of them
That’s how I feel about the Glock 30, only have one Glock 21 but it’s upgraded 🙂
Impressive!!!!!👍👍
I already have the 21 but I want to get the 20 as well so I can open carry duel wield both of them
Thinking the same my 21 has a wilson barrel as I shoot lots of lead other than that it's stock and it's never let me down I actually shoot the 21 better than the 17 which surprised me so this summer I'll have another gen 4 21 before they quit making them and gen 5 is all they have (don't need a red dot 21)
I just bought one. $570 with 3 clips.
I’ve bought many a Glock both new and used and never had an issue with any of them. My Glocks are my most trusted EDC firearms…💥
Great video as always, Sootch! 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
Thanks Brother!
I bought the 42 & 43 both are nice holding because ive got small fingers but rather large hands!
@@markl6602 Very nice! I love my G43 with TLR-6
Tacticool bros like to talk smack about the simplicity and utilitarianism of Glocks, however, nothing comes close to the reliability and functionality of a Glock. Nobody shot by a Glock has ever complained about being shot by a boring boxy looking gun.
@@sootch00 pp
I love my Glocks.
It's simplicity that just plainly works everytime.
I owned a GLOCK 21 before I even considered a GLOCK 19. I've been shootin' my GLOCK 21 since '17, and.....YES YOU CAN CONCEAL IT!
I love my g21 and have ccw'd it for years with no problems.
Bigger is better!
@@thomasbroadbent189 Carried mine for a church security team for two years! Had no problem with concealment.
I carry a gen 3 G21SF appendix every single day..I'm about 6'2", 190ish lbs and I have zero problems carrying and concealing it.
@@mizzoupatriot8814 well, @ 6'2", I totally believe you!
If all you short guys would've eaten your vegetables like your mom told you too...You would be tall enough to conceal a G21.
This is my FAVORITE gun of all time!
Gods gun in gods caliber.... 45auto🇺🇸💪👍
Absolutely!!! .45 fanboy!!!!!
garbage caliber boomer gun / boomer’s caliber.
I've been running and gunning my G21SF Gen3 since I purchased it in 2010. It's my competition and my edc firearm.
My Gen 1 is still functionally sound, has had thousands of rounds through it, with ZERO malfunctions, and still quite accurate. Never replaced any springs, no mods. Glock is the Way.
A real Gen 1 Glock 17 ?
@@pewpew9193 As real as it gets. But it's a 21, not a 17.
@@mohawkdriver4155 Gen 1 is only the Glock 17 is why I mentioned that.
@@pewpew9193 thanks. Just saying my 21 is a first-year they came out.
@@mohawkdriver4155 oh okay, I gotcha.
That's a 2nd Gen model.
Probably made in 1990.
Could have possibly even been produced in 1989 since it was released in early 1990 for purchase.
My LE department's been using the G-21 for several years now and many of our 'problem' shooters have done MUCH better qualifying at the range. It's definitely a big boy's gun, but it's well worth it.
Interesting. What was it about the 21 that helped them qualify?
This was my service pistol for 20 years. Absolutely love it for a duty gun. Flat shooting. Hard hitting. Can't remember ever having a malfunction with it. To big for edc but, fantastic pistol.
I love the g21 no recoil for being a 45 acp
Love my G21, very accurate and low recoil. Picked up some 13 rnd magazines during freedom week in California for it.
2 round difference really sells me on it in Cali
I shot with this gun yesterday. First handgun I’ve ever used.
Feels great. The trigger is spot on and so easy to load.
I have medium hand size, and it fits me perfectly.
On my 6th shot, I hit the targets bullseye.
14 rounds of .45 at your side and it’s a Glock, what a perfect match. Looking to get one in the near future,
Great work highlighting the pros and cons of this classic Glock! I am a 45 ACP fanboy, and bought one of these way back in the early 90s. Still have that same pistol today and it sits right alongside my .45 Colt and another classic, a .45 Sig P220 in the safe. You are right on target (no pun intended) that it is a big gun to hold, but still relatively light given its size, and especially in comparison to the Colt. I take the 21 to the range every time I go, and I honestly can't think of the last time I had any issues with it. It shoot straight, recoil is manageable and it never fails to cycle the next round. All in all, a great pistol for a classic caliber. If you own a Colt or other stell framed .45, I strongly recommend you pick one of these up as well. You won't be disappointed.
How does it do with hollow points?
Glock 21 sf gen 3 was the first gun I bought during the beginning of pandemic. It was a choice between G21 & 911 R.I. chamber in .380. I'm glad I chose the G21. It's a awesome gun and now I also added a Lone Wolf 20L slide so I can shoot 10mm.
I love my glock 21, i had traded two small older Taurus in .45 for it and man the accuracy compared makes it my number one side arm
I have a Gen 2 M21. Bought it new, so I've had it for a long time. Never had an issue with it. It's one of my primary home defense weapons and a favorite for winter carry.
The 21 was my first handgun back in 90, 91. I still have it. My hands are not big, but I love my Glock chunk. Yeah, no "SF" back then, lol.
One of the best .45’s on planet earth
I’m running the G30 Gen 4 and it’s my favorite pistol. Takes the G21 mags too. Can be a great EDC.
I carry one too my favorite edc gun
G30sf love it
G30s for me perfect for ccw
I have a Gen 1 G30 and not only is it a great ccw gun, it is accurate!
I used to own a gen 4 G30 but I have big hands and it just didn't fit like I preferred so I upgraded to a brand new gen 3 G21SF and could not me more pleased..The 30 is nice and compact and still high capacity...It's a great gun.
I have the G21 sf...love it ! Was unsure when I bought it, concerned about recoil but wow no problem at all. It's my Big Girl gun. Saving up for G27 and G29 to compete my Glock girls collection. P.S...yes, they all have girls names...lol. Thanks Sootch !
Got me a Glock 30 Gen 4 (baby brother to the 21 I say) absolutely amazing with in regards to the recoil. The next Glock I want is a Glock 20 Gen 4. Cheers and happy shooting!
@@sethklug1813 Hi, Glocks are very addictive !! I keep changing my mind as of which I’d like to get next… wish we could have them all. Good luck shooting 😊
The heavy slide makes it a very soft shooter...I have fired hot, Underwood 185 grain +P's out of mine and even one handed it was very controllable..I love my G21SF...I carry one every single day.
Thats cool, the only ones i want for myself is the Glock 45,Glock 17,Glock 42 & Glock 21. I already have the 17 and don't need the 45 but it would make a better concealed carry.
Just bought my Gen 4 last week. First range day was yesterday, love it!
My Gen4 Glock 21 is one of my very favorite hand guns and I'll never part with it. It's just a great shooting gun with such easy to manage recoil. And for what it's worth, I think Glocks are great looking guns.
Agreed,it definitely looks like a service/duty pistol, great sidearm to match a good rifle
The simple smooth design is a thing of beauty to me.
I bought a Gen 4 G21 from Aim Surplus after seeing your instagram post. The gun is in great shape and doesn’t appear to have been shot much. My son is removing the finger grooves for me and I can’t wait to get it to the range.
Another fantastic review Sootch! I have a G21 Gen4 and have another G21 Gen3 SF on order! I am so stoked to get it and shoot it!! I am a Glock fanboy all the way!
Keep up the content brother!
I have many many glocks and I have to say my 21 is the most accurate! My favorite for sure
The 45 caliber Glocks have 8 rifling grooves instead of 6 as every other Glock which aids in accuracy tremendously.
Own a G21 Gen 4, love it. I appreciate your review and look forward to more content on your channel.
I own several 45acp firearms, from 1911s, FNX45, Shield 45, SA Mod2 45 compact, G30 & the "unicorn" G36. But my Gen3 G21SF is my bedside goto because of reliability, accuracy and low price (police trade-in). If I ever have to use it it's easy to replace with another low cost used or police trade-in compared some other 45acp firearms. Excellent video brother and keep up the great work 👍
I carry one every single day...Love my G21SF...Never getting rid of it. One of the best combat 45's you can buy imo.
What holster are you using with the 21?
Thanks
As i happen to have big hands, got the same model back then. No regrets. Good company with my camping trips. Enjoyed your vid!
Greets, T.
Shot USPSA Limited with my Gen 3 Glock 21 for a couple years....; great pistol! (I had a trio of +4 Arredondo mag extensions/spring replacement kits, which worked great!)
I have enjoyed your videos, over the years! Keep them coming.
Thanks for the update brother, see you on the next one.love 45 acp .
Got the Glock 21 and 30 SF Can’t have the big brother without the little brother
So glad to catch this review
Just ordered 2 police trade-ins from sportsman’s guide using your discount code as usual. Lol A 22 and 21. We appreciate you SOOTCH!
I have this exact same gun and I love it ! I do change the sights on my Glocks as soon as I get them . Tritium Night sites make these guns even better. I won't be downing the 1911 though , I'm a sucker for the 1911s , they are really incredible guns especially since the design is over 110 years old . Something else I do with my Glocks is the .25 cent trigger job , which is a fancy way to say polishing all the trigger's connecting points where they touch metal to metal with a dremel tool, It don't make the trigger any lighter but it does make it much smoother , no grittyness when you pull the trigger .
Please explain your process.
I removed the front and rear grip texture, also the finger grooves and did an undercut. Its like a totally different gun. I hear alot of folk nowadays have issue with the size of the frame, but 20 years ago it was common to do a DIY grip reduction. I think with all the advertising for "professional" customization has made it a forgotten art. American culture as a whole is a forgotten art.
The AIM LEO trade-ins are great! Just picked up a Gen4 G22 and it's sweet! Glocks are like Honda Civics, simple, always works, pretty boring, kinda ugly, but hard to complain 🤣
My thoughts exactly! Thanks David!
I am glad Glock intro’d .45. Continuity with the 1911 but the mags also opened up future extensions - eg Kriss Vector in .45.
Honda: I agree with the analogy. A pretty vanilla design where dealers try to sell you on all the upgrades. (When they try to sell you leather seats on the Honda i always respond with “but then how will i hose it out?”😉)
Glocks are like Honda civics. Average outta the box or off the lot. Nothing spectacular to write home about and way overpriced for what you're getting. But dump some serious money into em and you just might have an above avg purchase! 👏 👏 👏
@@Pler1978 a custom 1911 that ranges from 3k-$6k msrp better be exciting.
Get a Korth prs get a 1911 lower with Glock top best of both worlds
Awesome! I just ordered mine from Turner's Outdoorsman today. They luckily had some in their warehouse so they should have it at the shop the latest by early next week. Then I can start my background check.
I'm not a huge fan of striker fired guns BUT: when I decided that it would be smart to add pistol to my collection that focused on reliability, capacity and repairability, this was the one I went with. I was surprised how comfortable it is in the hand and it isn't half bad looking !
Why don’t you like striker fired? It’s literally superior, lol.
@@zanekeeney3177 I guess because the typical trigger is so bad. But I grew up on 1911’s.
Gen4 G21 is my bedside gat! Amazing piece that has never skipped a beat. In GLOCK I Trust!
I’ve used this as a duty-gun for nearly 8 years. It’s never talked about because it overshadowed by other Glocks… but this is a a great pistol.
I own the G21 Gen 4, it's my nightstand gun. Love it!
Enjoyed this video. I had just taken out my Glock 30SF shooting today, for the first time in a while. I had forgotten what a joy to shoot the firearm is. I proudly own the 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29SF, 30SF, & 36. Somehow the 21SF has not been on my radar, until now. As much as I love the 30 & 36, this one must be even better.
@Sootch00 is this your account in the reply to my comment? It has your pic, but isn't the same account
@@thomaseynon6205 Text+ is a scam.
@@darrellblake799 Yep, I quickly realized, after being excited for a second. Then looked at the account. Hehe.
Man, don’t doubt my beloved 21. It’s like you’re controlling an elephant and you decide the direction where it’s gonna run and trample lol, we’ve talked enough about this subject though so I won’t bother you haha. Keep punching big holes friend!
I've owned several sf 21s. I could shoot them well enough. But got rid of them for other glocks. I just picked a le trade in gen 4 and it fits even better the the gen 3 sf. I love it. It is a 2013 and has the old finish on it and carry wear but no real wear from shooting it looks like. This one will never leave my collection for sure
I own the Gen 4 full sized model. While it shoots solid right out of the box, trigger system did need some refinements. Put in a Ghost trigger bar and spring kit which took it from the factory pull to around 4 lbs and really helped with the reset, plus made the trigger feel less notchy. Put in a Lone Wolf threaded barrel and ran a suppressor on it with Trijicon suppressor height night sights. Everything else is stock and so far, I've been very pleased with the pistol.
Cool music, fun video with lots of interesting things… another great sootch vid!
Love the 21. Thanks for the review.
This video So Nice, that just watching the intro alone is all the review needed on this Firearm 🤘💪🎯🎯👏 Awesome!
A G21 Gen 3 police trade in was the first of my many Glocks. It's still one of my favorites though my smaller hands do struggle a bit with the fat grip. The SF is definitely kinder to those of use with smaller hands.
Nice video Sootch. I own this gun and really liked it from day one. Recoil isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
Thanks Theron! It's a great handgun for sure
I love this pistol. I'm getting a 2nd one and a g30 soon to have as a carry around. Such a great weapon.
My favorite! I love mine! it’s a nail driver and crazy accurate for a .45
Glocks are not nail drivers! Lmao!
@@joelando1559 Opinions vary
@@joelando1559 💯
It's the most accurate handgun I own.
@@donshipman8441 opinions vary. Facts are facts. Glocks are not nail drivers. That's a fact. Avg material used to create an avg gun at a far than above avg price. Anyone willing to pay 600+ for a glock needs to broaden their horizons. Are the reliable? Yes. But so are so many other handguns on the market with far better materials creating a far better construction below or at the same cost. I can name a plethora of handguns that out perform glocks every day and twice on Sunday. Not opinions, straight facts. The only thing glock has that the others don't? Great PR and ignorant customers. 9 times outta 10 men hate being told they are wrong and they are willing to die on their choice of sword rather then get a better sword. So many companies now make just as reliable handguns as the glock with far better performance numbers, ergonomics, which, let's face it. Glocks ergonomics are shit! Their sights are literally some of the worse sights on the market and their prices have never matched their products. Not opinions bud. Facts. Why do you think there are so many options for aftermarket add-ons for glocks? I'll tell you what. Seeing as so many people in their opinions compare glocks to Honda civics. Why don't you go look online and see how much aftermarket crap you can pile on to a Honda. Then go look and see how much aftermarket shit is available for....say....a lincoln. Or a Jag, or a BMW...you'll find that it's not nearly as close to the Honda. Wanna know why? There isn't much point in adding crap onto something that is already awesome but there is a point in adding on to something that is below avg and blah to fix said below avg and blah.
Got a 21SF, love it.
Still a huge fan of your channel Mr. sootch00 Thank you!
I have one of these, I love it. Beautiful pistol.
Very informative demonstration. Hat's off.
Just got mine today. Love it.
The best Glock there is!
Man watching u shoot on my big TV with the surround sound was awesome 😂😂😂
Back in 1994 I bought the Glock 21 when I started out as a police officer. I'm 6ft 2 with large hands and I had to develop a shooting style because of the grip was so large . I shot 98/100 at the Academy. Years later I just wanted something smaller and more concealable and I got the Glock 30 SF. It's very accurate and better to grip. Those ole Glock 21s are a brick but a good pistol of you can handle them lol
A excellent video on the Glock 21 💯👍
Don't have a 21 anymore... but I do have a 41! Love it!
The Glock 20 is the true BIG BOY GLOCK son.
I will admit I too was a glock hater in the early years but, I grew up and had to work and pay for my own toys so buying things that last and work well are invaluable.
The G21 is one of my favorite pistols and is a frequent EDC choice for Fall-Spring. I'd prefer if it had a more ergonomic grip, but I can't deny that the pistol flat out works.
Me too buddy!!! I own a G21 G4 & man I love it!!!
That G21 is no joke‼️ that’ll knock a chunk off of somebody
Love the reviews you’ve done recently on Glock 45s. I’ve been itching to buy a 45 pistol for a while now. Was interested in a 1911 at first, but I’m leaning to one of the Glocks now. Either the 30 or 30s.
I got one some time ago (a few years now) and it came with a NY1 setup. I like that assembly so I left it. I liked that Talon that yours came with. I would have kept it on, even on the slide. Thanks for the video.
I have the 30sf 29sf 19x love my collection all great to edc excellent video as always sir !!!
Im 5 foot 3 and 110 pounds. But i carry this as my EDC because if the proverbial “spit hits the spinner”, I wanna make sure my adversary doesnt live to regret his decision to engage me. You can always ice your hands afterwards during the “police report” portion of the battle haha.
My Glock collection consists of only a G19 and a G20. The G21 is next on my list
Great buy Sootch! I bought my gen4 21 used about 3 years ago for $450
One of my home defense guns. Love it.
The 21 sf is my bedside. The full size feel and grip is great with underwood hollow points 230 gr at 1000 fps
Thank you. Was debating on which one to get. Ty for helping me make that choice. Im def going for the gen 3 or 4 .45 acp slide etc.
I am a real newbie to Glocks, having been a disciple of Jeff Cooper from way back in the days of my youth. I carried a full-size 1911 Series '70 Colt for 24 years on a daily basis, even though I'm not a big guy by any stretch of the imagination. Hell, I mass 140 pounds soaking wet and stand at only 5'-8". And I never thought I'd own a polymer framed pistol until I was gifted an M&P 9 Shield EZ -- in 9mm, naturally. Let me add that the Browning Hi Power has actually always been my favorite pistol on earth, even back in the day, but it was "only" a 9mm -- and it was before manufacturers began making 9mm ammunition that actually worked as advertised. I got my Glock 21 SF as a partial payment for a debt and was skeptical about even keeping it because it's just a big, BIG gun. However, after a few range trips with it, I find I'm falling in love with it.
As I said, I'm a real newcomer to the Glock, and judging from your video, I believe I have the Gen 3. But my magazine release is ambidextrous. It's not reversible and this point confuses me. I know it's not a Gen 4 since the backstrap on my Glock is definitely solid and non-interchangeable. Plus, I have a single recoil spring like yours.
I admit I used to scoff a bit at Glocks. Mainly over my cosmetic complaints due to its ugliness, but I always knew the Glock was a true world-class firearm in every respect. I still think it's uglier than a stone fence, but you're right about the 21 being a real pussycat. Despite everything I've always heard and read, I am able to use lead bullets in my gun -- provided I take care to "de-lead" the barrel thoroughly after each range session. However, after about 200 rounds, I find I frequently need to nudge the slide forward less than 1/8" to get it back into battery. Cleaning the lead fouling out is easily accomplished by wrapping some "Lead Away" cloth around an old, worn-out .45 caliber bronze brush and "lapping" the barrel with it, then following up with a conventional gun solvent.
I want to thank you for the excellent video you presented here. It was very informative to me and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I do wonder if you can answer my question about replacement triggers. I can't quite get the hang of the factory trigger because of the "mush." I'd like to know if anyone makes a trigger that presents less overall travel, thus eliminating the "mush." I'm sure I could learn to live with the trigger I have, but I managed to work the trigger over quite nicely in that little M&P EZ pistol. And I've been told I accomplished quite a feat in doing so.
G21 has been my service pistol for the last 17 years! She’s a workhorse, eats any and all types of ammunition and is not picky at all!
The GLOCK 21 Gen 3 has been my duty gun for the past five years. I trust my life to it every shift. 👊🏾💪🏾
Tenifer finish, is among my favorite Finished Gun coatings.
My G21 SF 3rd gen is still running strong
I bought it new in 2010
It runs like a champion 🏆

One of my favorite Glocks that has 2 hogs under her belt with Siera 185gr JHP down in Alabama (good BBQ)
I currently use that ammo in my G21 , wondering how well it performed on that hog
Super reliable Glock 21. Thanks for the video
You're spot on! I own 7 glock models with a g21 gen4 being one of them. My out the door edc for the past several years is the g19.
The G21 gen4 is cadillac in the world of 45acp. I'm glad the FNX 45 wasn't available when I was choosing between the two. Mag extension (expensive) took care of the difference. Still cheaper than the FNX.
Glad to see Sootch doing another review on the Glock 👍🏼🇺🇲
Thanks for ALL you're doing for the 2A community.
Hate to sound like a Glock fanboy (I have many others), but this is my nightstand gun, my 30s is one of my carry guns, and my 19 is my truck gun. When shtf I know I can count on these guns.
👍
All American man stopper😎💪🏿🔥💯 that good ol 230 grainer ball ammo .. classic love it
Great video. I do enjoy my Glocks. In my collection my favorite Glock is my Glock 23c gen 3. I’ve been thinking about getting a Glock 21 gen 3 to swap in a heavy recoil spring and shoot 45 super in it. As always I love watching your videos.
I just bought a G21 today and so far I love it. It was brand new $545.00, so about $625 out the door. It came with an extra magazine both are 10 round mags I'll have to get a couple 13 round magazines for it.
GOT ME ONE A WHILE BACK..LOVE IT.
I bought a Gen 2 Glock 21 quite a few years ago. I LOVE that beast! The New York State Police transitioned into them a few years ago from the Glock 37 and its’ .45 GAP round, and the NYSP’s weapons training expenditures were cut almost in half due to the ammunition. They run Gen 4s with a Streamlight TLR-1 on the rail, with custom holsters. Every Trooper I’ve talked to about them loves the handgun/light setup. Now, I’d we could only get the 10-round magazine limit overturned by SCOTUS … which has a good chance of happening … !
Is there litigation in progress? I’m in a communist state that’s violating my bill of rights as well… burn the law abiding citizens and let the criminals run wild!! Makes sense, right? Of course it does…
I always wanted one on 460 Roland
