As terrifying as Crow Country can be, it manages to deliver a refreshing puzzle-driven survival horror experience unlike anything that I’ve played. Its inspirations become blurred as the unique elements of exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving deliver something unique that you didn’t even realize was missing from this genre. Being developed largely by one person, Crow Country may have started as a project to satisfy their craving for a game like this, but it managed to be exactly what I’ve been looking for myself. The price of admission is perfect for this theme park, but be sure to save often and avoid those insta-death traps.

I’m so glad this game is doing well. It’s looks charming yet creepy and I’m here for it.
Getting this game and NOISY PIXEL RULES
Thank you!
I had no idea or was even aware of this game's existence, so I'm kinda glad this popped up in my recommendations.
I already like the retro old school style that it has going for it, and by the sounds of the audio, it sounds very menacingly but in a good way.
Like you almost don't know what will creep on you when you're walking down a dark hallway.
Yea! And the ambiance of like spooky stuff plays in each area. Sometimes leading to enemy spawns but more often just setting the mood.
Interesting. I just finished the game and didn't have an issue with getting killed by puzzles. Maybe because I read all of the notes? There's a few that reveal if a puzzle is deadly or not. I think theres usually environmental things to clue you in as well like puddles of blood in front of certain objects.
Same. I also wrote down many notes, and in turn I was never blind sided by a single puzzle. The closest I got was deliberately going against the game's and my notes, to see if a dangerous puzzle might unlock something secret, but again that was 100% my own decision to experiment. I had it written down "this will probably kill you"
This game looks awesome and glad your bringing attention to it.
Nice review. Just one lil thing: Traps won't kill you instantly unless you constantly run around on low health. There are enough healing items to avoid that imo.
Alisa is another horror game with a similar PS1-era aesthetic that I'd recommend if you like this. I really enjoyed the demo for that.

Nice review!!
I’ve been very hyped for this one!
Art style / graphics look awesome, may have to check out!
Indie games are the ones that keep pushing for awesome art! AAA mostly plays it safe
Looks way too cute to be compared to RE (even PS1). It does remind, however, of FFVII.
Played the demo and loved it.
It’s a really cool game for sure.
This graphics & aesthetic looks class 👌 definition of old school meets modern!
I disagree with some of this critique. Maybe we played the game differently but I didn't run into many (any?) "instant death" environmental puzzles. There was one puzzle that required you to take damage to complete, and was not a particularly well designed puzzle, but it was not an 'instant death' scenario. I would also argue that placing all of the notes you find in the world into your inventory would go a long way towards breaking the survival horror immersion and that there is a difficulty available in the game to remove enemies if you want a more chill vibe as you run around.
Glad you covered the game, though. I was a fan.
Exactly what I’m looking for in a game.
Came for the outro, stayed for the review ! 😋
Thanks
Seems like illbleed was an inspo
Wheres the dreamcast release?
What a week for indie gaming 🥳
This game was actually recommended by my town's gaming news section. So it sounds like a good time. I'm a chicken but I'll give it a shot.
As a huge shinji makami and survival horror games I soooo want this as a physical copy! Does anyone know if it's getting one?
3:08 lol
This looks weird in a great way. I'll give this one a try for sure, the review really makes me think it's a good fit for me.
gonna give it a try, but aiming seems cumbersome
It takes some getting used to for sure.
Crowheads we are going to be wetting our beaks good!
Cute low poly design.
It looks awesome, but aiming a gun looks very tedious and annoying... I might try it if the price is right
@@RandoLePerson thanks for letting me know I'm wrong. I hope the game proves me wrong...
Btw is Hades II - too mainstream for ya NP?
Mainstream trash.
They didn’t send us a code 🤷♂️ it’s cool. They have enough coverage I think.
hmm thanks
Same devs as Snipperclips
I did not know that
Lord forbid if you have to remember things and read words.
I think you’re underestimating how many notes there are lol
@@NoisyPixelNews fair enough, but my comment was poking blame at the current state of games now-a-days being too hand-holdy and less immersive due to the ease of access to information. What I mean is we don't slow down to appreciate just reading details instead of being fed it via voice acting. Everything now has to be conveniently consumable by osmosis instead of doing things the archaic way...reading and observing carefully. But I did appreciate the review. Thank you!
😂
8.5 too much refreshed Azario
I don't like Ur reviews
We don’t like your comment
Okay?
You look miserable, and yet you're trying to make someone else feel unlikeable? Hahaha what irony.
