Dudeeee its so refreshing seeing a CZcamsr make content with the Es, hardly any out there but this brings a smile to my face because i also have one 🙂
FRRR

im saying 🤝🏾
Yuh I got one tho
Real talk bro i got a 2002 and it’s like looking up ancient history😂😂😂
Hey Cam, long time watcher here. I use to work at Best Buy few years back & helped in the car audio department. The installers would tell me that anytime someone decides to buy a new unit while keeping original sound system , the unit itself will have more output then the stock amp can hold. Hence the high pitch noise you hear. The lc2i audio control will help dial that in or just get a Kicker Key amp to pair with new speakers. 👍🏽
Thanks Adrian!
I think you are right, I hear an alternator noise after connecting an aftermarket radio to my camry 06 with a factory JBL amp. There is another wiring harness which bypasses the factory amp, I am thinking to try that one instead, would you recommend it or it can be too quiet without the amp ?
ive done the same head unit replacement on my es300 and i have a similar high pitched squeal at all times. is there any other info you can give adrian on the lc2i mod to fix?
So glad to see a CZcamsr doing realistic things and making mistakes and just being oh so real. Good for you and great content.
My 98 es300 currently has 365,000 on it and runs like a dream.!!
I have a 98 ES300 too & its my first car & i LOVE my car & its so good to watch content on an ES instead of the IS
With so many fake couples out there you guys are just very genuine and drip of humility. Great channel and congratulations with your baby coming soon!
"come in to my luxury car babe" 🤣you aren't wrong
My first car was a 1995 Lexus ES300. It was my dad’s old car and I drove it from 2002-2006. I have wanted a new Lexus since high school and I finally bought one last week. They had big red bows from the December commercials. I told the sales guy when we were setting up the infotainment “Dude, I know this is going to sound silly but I have wanted a brand new Lexus for a long time and I have to get a photo with the bow.” He smiled and said “Then let’s get you a photo with the bow!”
Great effort installing the head unit Cameron, you did a lot better than I did 8 years ago..
Took out my original head unit and thought I was clever enough to rewire everything myself. The genius in me ended up cutting everything out. After staring at a pile of wires for an hour, I decided to give up and drove to an audio shop to fix my mess lmao.
Keep the upgrades coming!
Just saw this video. I had a 1998 Lexus ES300 in 2015 and in case you hadn't seen it yet, I posted a writeup on the stereo install process on Club Lexus. Search for a thread called "How to Install an Aftermarket Radio in 1998 Lexus es300" and you'll find the thread and my post with detailed pics. I ran into the same issue with the alternator/engine whining noise, and used a four channel Ground Loop Isolator to eliminate the noise. Good luck with the car! I loved mine!
Thank you!!
i own a 99’ es300 and feel like i haven’t seen anyone really do much to these. excited to see what you do and hopefully follow in your steps
Thanks!
I’ve had this same unit in my Silverado for two years now. Love it so far.
I love Crutchfield. They are the only ones who had the install kit I needed for my 1993 Chevy van.
I have a 99 ES 300. New radio will be in the future. Thanks for the video.
I tired this with a H2 and it was one of the most frustrating things I have ever done. After 2 weeks I gave up and took it to my local sound shop. Best $150 I have ever paid.
Just discovered your channel. I really like your videos on this Lexus. I’d love to have a car like that. Keep the videos coming. You’re good on camera and explain things well!
Great video Cam,Much love,Blessings.
Glad to see some content, been a while.. can’t wait for more!
love these OG car builds of shit i never heard of before. keep making it wild. subscribed.
Thanks,so natural,so real,loved it.
Love the car and congrats on the baby 🙏🙌
Thanks for sharing. Have a Merry Christmas.
I’ve been looking for so long on a decent tutorial! Thank you so much, this inspired me to replace my burnt out radio
Loved this video cam keep it up brotha !
Amazing video man, helped a lot and very informative 💪🏻
Nice job Cam!
Wow that's an incredible amount of work to do this job, but it's wonderful.
Can’t wait to see what you do with the exhaust.
Awesome man I love that Lexus!
Yeah, I would not worry about the reversed speakers control. I admire your patience and dedication to the project. Congratulations on the new baby and I guess by now she may be a year old. Best wishes to you and your growing family.
You made a good call on avoiding the AX100. I had the AX100 installed in my dad's car and the Bluetooth always has to be paired again every time you start the engine, which is annoying. With the Pioneer unit in my car, you just pair your phone to the unit once via Bluetooth and it will always connect automatically once your phone is nearby and has Bluetooth enabled. Aside from that, the Sony does this weird thing where the time is always either 12 minutes behind real time or 12 minutes ahead of real time. I only got this unit because of the volume knob, but I should've just got the one you got or a Pioneer.
Thanks for this video so excited to purchase a used Lexus thinking RX350 or GX/LX470 but you got a sweet sweet deal ❤❤❤❤I live in Tampa, but away for a few months!!! I am super excited to watch!
It's called a ring terminal. They usually come in kits with other connectors.
Of course you would know that
New to your channel and think it’s so dope to see you making videos on a ES300. Absolutely love mine with it being my first car and hope to do some upgrades on it as well.
It’s my first car too 😄
Hecks yeah.
Got a 330 couple months ago and it’s a great car
Same process in my LS400 too. Except I still have my factory radio because it's very high quality, and soon to be running Focal speakers. 👍
But my factory pioneer system is amazing, and I just love the stock headunits in these Lexus's
This video is awesome and now I am thinking of getting my LEXUS RX300 ,convert to Apple car play. I hope i can get aftermarket for my car. Thanks for such clarity and fun doing DIY
Thanks!
This is awesome nothing best than failing on certain things u will remember this car way long after u sell it… lol great vid!
Thank you for this video. I just got myself one of these, and I was wondering what I should do in terms of modifications
I say audio upgrades first, including the head unit. After that, probably ceramic tint
It's usually best to just bypass the factory amps and install an aftermarket one. Not as expensive or difficult as you may think.
I was going to say "Ground the parking break wire" it's the best mod you can do so your car stereo does not limit you on use.
Great clean vehicle change door speakers and rear 10inch sub with mid level amp will increase sound quality💯
I recently just brought an 97 es300 an putting a lot of work into her
I have the exact same head unit I installed in my RAV4 from Crutchfield. I ran my usb cable down underneath my shifter and it comes out in my armrest console so I can plug my phone in and put in the storage so I don't have to leave my phone out.
The noise you’re getting could be a result of your ground. The best ground is always to main chassis of the car. I’m surprised the harness you used didn’t come with factory ground to wire into. Love the Lexus by the way.
Vivian looks beautiful and I'm glad you guys are doing well. Respect on you installing the head unit yourself even if it didn't work perfectly the first try. I'm looking for an Android Auto unit for my 8th gen Civic FA1.
if you don.t want the cable sticking out you could have went with a head unit that had wireless apple carplay. I love them I have 2 boss units one in my traverse and one in my pickup, Also you can get a usb extension that replaces the cigarette lighter and that is a whole lot cleaner looking than a rando wire hanging.
more vids about the es your doing great and underrated car!
Congrats on baby elena guys!!! You guys will be awesome parents! You will definitely need the apple car play to play baby shark ! Lol 😂
Hello Cam, I was wondering if your able to show us how the Apple CarPlay perform on the new head unit.
This Series Is 👍
A volume knob is definitely a topic of discussion. Honda had to replace the knob on their 2019 and up Pilots bc of all the complaints. 😂
Any updates on the BRZ??
We’re getting close
I think you switched the green and purple RCA speaker cables. Every source I've checked says that purple is for the rear right and green is for the rear left.
Scared to attempt this install in my wrx just seems like a pain
Old cars > new cars 😊❤
LETS GOO!!!
Felicidades por bebé 👍💯 pero el ls 400 muy buen carro
Did yourself dirty in the thumbnail what’s up with that 😂
Hello! Is there any options of gear shifet change to something like in sc400? I think in es it is only downside thing in interior
Honesty bro I subscribe because of the content only watched one video but I’ll be watching the other ones and also wanted to try making videos with my ES300!!
Thanks! You should do it
@@Camhill182 well took a while but wish i could dm you a photo new shocks and wheels for her today and she’s running like a beauty!! as well as check all connections in your engine bay if your power is running low my alternator cord was loose on the post and did a little of what your was doing I’m hoping it gets back upm
I had the same issue with the whining noise in the speakers. I did a factory amp bypass and it went away
Don't know if you read the comments but I did a head unit install on my es and I guess the grounds on these cars suck basically they require ground loop isolators to get rid of the high pitch whirring it picks up the sound of the alternator.
Ohhh thats interesting. Thank you for the info!
@@Camhill182 you're welcome... I meant to make a video about the isolators but kinda forgot
Did you have to plug in a wire for the VSS? Vehicle speed signal?
So my radio is under the cooling system could I use a double din?
What mpg are you getting and how can you improve It?
That high pitch is classic sign of bad ground wire or not a good enough connection
Just bought the same car and has an aftermarket sony head unit. Theres a hum from the speakers at 0 volume. What could that be from?
Any link on where to get that Sony system?
hi do they come with a backup cameras???
I did this too but my system lets out a constant high pitch squeel. Everything works but that squeel is bothersome, any tips on how to fix? @Cameron Hill
Have you or anyone else ran into this problem with it all sounding VERY static-y & low after installing a stereo on this car??
I tried different harnesses & stereos but get the same result for all & just CAN NOT FIX IT! its frustrating
U have a 97 model and i wish i can restore it to as new. But i just cant.. for now ill drive it untill it breaks down completely or get a new car myself.
Time for an LC2i :)
Buy a flat usb cable. Easy to slide through
I just bought a 2000 Lexus es300 to give to my kid for his birthday, but I can't figure out which wires to connect from the stereo to the harness........I have the exact same Sony double din as you do in the video....can you help me??
thats why most vids say to make sure everything works before screwing it back into the car LMFAOAO
Put a USB outlet in place of the cig lighter.
How much is the head unit
Can u tell me what plug number it is?😊 I ordered the wrong one from cructhfield
8:13 The look of ope, I took that too far...now she is pissed! HaHa
My last name is Hill as well and I have a 2003 es 300. Just a note I though that was pretty cool.
Thank you for not smoking
This is very interesting. When I got my kenwood head unit installed back in early 2020 when I bought my first car, a 2008 Toyota Camry, I never had a high pitch squealing noise. Although I have had the front left and rear speakers replaced. A JVC in the front driver side, and 2 kicker speakers in the back. The 2 front tweeters are still good. I also had two 12inch MB Quartz subwoofers put in the back. Where exactly is the factory amp located in your Lexus?
there's a good chance your camry doesn't have an amplifier, similar to how my car didn't. maybe a higher trim model does? but if you don't have an amp your set to install new speakers and amp right from the head unit. but usually the head unit already has a built in amp.
@@CrowJamz oh I think I get you you now. When I had my system put in, they installed a 2 channel DS18 amp, to the back of one of the backseats, along with 2x 12 inch MB Quartz subwoofers 🔊🔊. Before that yeah it was just a regular Camry lol.
What harness is that?
This has been my entire life dealing with avalon 2003..... I have a love and hate relationship with it
I love ur car bro I have an 01 es300 with 175k picked it up for 600 bucks wondering if they have a Tesla screen that controls the climate control as well?
I did the same thing and I couldn’t get the rca’s in the correct order. All the speakers but the sub work. I want to bypass the factory amp. Did you get the rca in the correct order?
I did end up getting the RCA cables in the correct orientation. The sub works
Go ace hardware you can get a new screw or any hardware store
hola no hablo ingles pero tengo un Lexus igual, y pregunto en donde conseguir la pantalla de Sony, le quedo ´perfecto
Check Crutchfield they have it
Correct me if someone already asked, but was the bottom ac control portion a part of the new touchscreen sound system, or did it detach from the upper stereo part of the old audio control
It detached from the stock radio
I have the 2000 es300 with the CD player in the glove box. Would my CD player still work if I did a swap like this?
Great question. I have the same cd player. I will try it out next video with the ES
By hooking up your new radio did you lose the rear woofer sound
No
No sound test 😢
Bro make the video with when u go for muffler.
Bacana!!!
Any tips going next weekend to go buy a car I’m on the fence about the new Honda civic hatch or the Nissan Altima RS
easy, Civic hatch
Civic
Yo when are you getting your brz back
Hey Cam, did you ever get rid of the high pitched noise? Same issue on my 1999 es300, Sony XAV-AX1000. Anyway hope your newly extended family is doing well! and thanks for doing this video
No, I never did. It needs a ground loop isolater though
@@Camhill182 Just finished an install and getting that noise issue. Just ordered a 4 line ground loop isolator, so hopefully that fixes it!
Did grounding the parking brake wire work?
Im not sure. It doesnt seem to be blocking any features
