  • ○ Taro Coconut Sticky Rice is a comforting, traditional dessert that's been steamed in banana leaves for ultimate aroma. Taro has a delicate sweetness with notes of coconut and vanilla. It pairs so well with the soft, coconut sticky rice. In Thai, this dessert is called Khao Tom Mut Sai Peuak ข้าวต้มมัด ไส้เผือก. It reminds me of my childhood, as this was one of the many desserts that my grandparents would make often.

    Totally making these! I’ve got some experience now steaming various things in banana leaves and taro is one of my favorite ingredients ever. My bamboo steamer is about to get a workout. 💪

      @@ThunThunChannel instead of cleaning the banana leaves with wet towel and run it over the fire stove, can I dip the banana leaves into hot water and let it dries out instead? Would it gives that elasticity when wrap not break easily?

      @ThunThunChannel  Před 2 lety

      @@nhungnguyen1338 I've never tried that before. You can give it a try. I know some people who live in hotter climates let it sit in the hot sun. But it's good to wipe the leaves down because sometimes they have dust and dirt too.
