Insane 36-Cylinder W36 Engine - Engine Simulator

- Using AngeTheGreat's Engine Simulator, I torture my PC with this W36 engine. I had to turn the sim frequency all the way down to 900 Hz just to be able to run it at usable RPMs while also recording it. Even still, there's some latency and lagging. If I could run it above 3000 Hz, it would be higher revving and more powerful than it is now. It would also sound better. My computer would need some serious upgrades to do that though.

Oh no
ah yes, a 22.7 litre w36 engine in a bugatti that does nothing but 139mph
@@sleeper_man 0.139 mpg
@@sleeper_man well, this W36 is naturally aspirated (+ the vehicle in this simulationvis probably too heavy + too short gears)
@MakoIsHere yes it's only for a tank I think
"what's the firing order?"
"yes"
Firing squad at this point.
The firing order?!. Never mind that if this engine were actually built it would have 8 camshafts and 128 valves!.

Ugh that poor guy who has to do a valve job 😂😂😂

This hypothetical engine must've been made from 2 V18s I presume or 2 theoretical VR18s
4 bank W engines usually are made from two VR configurations, not V
Volkswagen is hiding something from us
Or 4 Inline 9s XDD
Hypothetically, of course
So like V18 with 60° angle?
Finally something that has a 1% chance of beating a civic with a laptop
Imagine having to do the ignition timing on this thing or finding plug wires that got mixed up
Thanks for watching! Sorry for the less-than optimal sound quality on this one. Apparently when the sim frequency goes too low, the sound isn't as full as normal. I'm seriously considering upgrading my CPU to run this engine (and others) at their full potential. I dynoed this engine at the full 10 kHz (nearly crashed my PC) and it made 1600 Lb-ft and 890 HP. It also revved up to 7500 rpm, which probably would've sounded lovely.
Still sounded lovely! Nevertheless looking forward to a possible 10k redline retry with a better CPU, though. I'd also be interested in the sound of the Bugatti W18 from the late 90s.
Out of curiosity what config are you running on your pc ? I'd want to get an idea of what kind of specs you need for this
@@iwontlagback7236 For this video, I had a ryzen 5 3600 paired with 32gb of ram running at 3.6GHz. I now have a ryzen 9 5900x with the same ram. I OC'd the cpu to 4.2GHz and can still only run the engine at 1000Hz frequency without running into high latency and 100+ ms RTDTs. It seems the bottleneck is something else in this case. Could possibly just be a limitation in the sim itself. I don't think it uses the gpu, but I may be wrong. If it does, then my rtx 2060s may not be up for the job. I did see a modest improvement in my other engines with the cpu swap though. So, it wasn't for nothing haha
@@icemanv93 holy sh*t!!! That's a very good config. If you can't run it correctly with a 5900x there's no way on earth my mobile 10th gen i7 will do the trick. What kind of specs do you need to run it at a high enough frequency??
@@iwontlagback7236 That's what I'd like to know. I reached out to Ange and asked what hardware will run such a crazy engine. I haven't heard back from him. Understandable, since he gets a lot of questions about the sim. I assume it's probably just way more cylinders than the sim was designed for.
crazy how im still hearing slight twinges from the chiron's W16. it also almost sounds like a V8 on downshifts
"How many piston will it take to make this engine?"

probably 36
just guessing tho

Forget the LS V8. This is what needs to be in your Miata.
“What is the firing order?”
“Chaos”
When you wamt your firing order to act like a monitor refresh rate.
This would seem best suited for maritime applications

poor crankshaft
Finally some good engine content. There have been so many uploads of people trying to get ridiculous speeds and dyno numbers and man... It's kind of boring, I want to hear wacky engines, not see people exploiting a simulator's bugs.
The bugs depend on how accurate the simulation is, which depends on refresh rate, which depends on how good your single-core performance is.
So people with good computers likely won't find bugs.
That’s just so much chaos I can’t even hear an exhaust tone lools
sounds awesome.
sooo smooth
thank you so much
sounds sick
If you stop to think a 36-cylinder engine would have combustion at 10°, think about how smooth this engine must be, not only in operation but in the delivery of power and torque.
that is siiiiick!!!
this is the engine for a large ship
_"Want to know what it's like to be blown out your back windshield worse than a piston from a beaned out Honda?"_
It sounds a lot like what happens when one rod decides to do an elvis.
When you think Bugatti don't go far enough
That just sounds angry, holy shit.
Firing order: continuous
That engine sounds like the Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C at 20,000 RPMs!
this id honestly how i think a dragster sounds like
I'm surprised there isn't an option to run dyno set ups in slow motion and record it to play it back at full speed.
Well you can run it in slow motion and record it yourself
It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire up this engine... for twelve seconds.

This engine simulator needs to be ported to CUDA.
Not enough cylinders
Damn you're right. Should've done 45 instead
all of those cylinders, not even producing enough power to make it over 300 lmao
