  • Is the NFL Rigged? In this video, we explore that question and dive deep into the sketchy past of one of the most iconic games in NFL history. This NFL conspiracy is an interesting one, and maybe by the end of this video, you might believe the NFL is rigged. Anyway, if you enjoyed this video, then like and comment if you want, and you can even subscribe if you think I've earned it.
    The dark Lovecraftian creature revealed itself, Barry McCockiner with flesh practically oozing off his skin, revealed the NFL scandals, and showed his acolytes the most rigged sports moments. Now that the 2023 NFL draft is over, we've seen Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady play golf with urinatingtree, and produce many NFL highlights. This is an NFL conspiracy theory on the ice bowl, which could be used to highlight heaven.

      Except that when The Packers were mediocre in the 70's and 80's, they had a different front office structure. After they drafted Tony Mandarich and he was a bust, the people responsible got fired and they changed up the front office structure. As someone who endured those 70's and 80's teams, I don't see them falling that far again for decades.

    As one who was an 11-year-old diehard Cowboys fan at the time, I will say without hesitation the Ice Bowl was not rigged. First, this was the coldest game in pro football history, and only a couple of games since then have even approached it. Not even the home team, the Packers, had experience playing football at -15 with a strong wind out of the north. But being the cold-weather team playing at home did give a little bit of a psychological advantage to the Packers over the warm-weather Cowboys. Once the Cowboys, down 14-0, decided to focus on football more than the weather, they dominated the game up until the Packers' final drive. It was a heartbreaking loss. But it wasn't rigged.

      I saw the game. Both teams played in the same conditions. The 1967 Raiders were 13 - 1. They had the # 1 offense and the #2 defense in the AFL .They outscored their opponents 33.4 to 16.6 that year. The average age of the players was 26.1 . They were destroyed by 19 points by the aging, cheating Packers 33 to 14 in Florida, where the kick-off temperature was 68 degrees. No warming blanket for the crybaby Cowboys. No crying from the floppy eared Cowboy Fan who I doubt was alive when the Cowjokes last won a Super Bowl . I am a Giant Fan , and you sir, are full of donkey dust.

      Doug Peterson held his REAL practices in Minneapolis in 2017 inside a hotel ballroom. He held fake practices in the dome. He knew after the eagles first super bowl with new england was known as part of spygate. And the eagles lost by a lousy 3. Doug fluty came out and said he accidentally picked up Brady's helmet and it didn't shut off at the time that it was supposed too. Flutie was stunned. Their linebacker said an HR before each game. They'd have a paper taped to their locker telling their plays. They'd know their opponents plays. This is how they cheated, and many more ways over their long run. Brady did all little things to get edges other qbs didn't have. Air otta the all, yeah that helps, grab a big fully blown up ball try to throw it, now let some air out and see the amount of control you gain. So Pederson let them film fake practices, and they were up 22 12 at the half. They won the game right there. The eagles of 2017 were too good to overcome a 10 point deficit. Even though they did, the eagles were gonna score, they did, and won 41 33. Find a cheating QB belicheat bc your methods won't work without a cheating QB. And Andy Reid, all those ppl that called you a fat slob, and I picked up for you, your time management was terrible I picked up for you, I ain't picking up for a cheater. Your team took that advantage of a flooded field in the desert, in a roofed stadium, how'd all your players just know to have mud cleats on in a desert stadium but not one eagle did. Howd every eagle have to change their cleats but not one chief. Howd a chief fan get to handle the field operations, a decades long chief field manager who is 94 and ready to die, nothing to lose? Another fascinating look back…I appreciate you mentioning Lance Rentzel off the field actions. He was married to the talented, incredibly sexy Joey Heatherton but showed his junk to a ten year old after already being busted doing the same thing when on the Vikings…he showed junk to girls, but they reduced his charges, he pled guilty to disorderly conduct, no jail time, just told to see a shrink and got to change location to Dallas. Joey divorced the perv.
    I wouldn’t put it past Vince Lombardi to unfix the field, my dad was a huge fan of him, his coaching style, and the Packers. As a girl I read Jerry Kramer’s book INSTANT REPLAY-still have the book-which was a diary of the Packers 1967 season. Great book, parts so funny, as you learn the players respected their Coach but were scared of him. Lol. Thanks…
    In the Ice Bowl, Jerry Kramer cut down Dallas defensive tackle Jethro Pugh at the line of scrimmage which opened the gap where quarterback Bart Starr squeezed through into the Lambeau Field end zone for the winning touchdown with 13 seconds remaining. I think you could have done a much more interesting video on Joe Namath and the New York Jets upsetting the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. Colts defender Bubba Smith is on record as having said some of his teammates gave less than a super effort. More importantly, this was the third year of the post-merger era, and the AFL teams were outclassed so badly in the first two contests that owners were beginning to question whether the original AFL teams were just watering down the sport with inferior talent. The victory by the Jets may have saved the NFL as we know it.

      Super Bowl 3 was no upset nor was it rigged. The arrogance of the Baltimore Colts cost them the game . They didn’t do any scouting of the New York Jets whatsoever. If they did, they would have known that blitzing Joe Namath was not smart. They also would have known that Don Maynard was not healthy going in the game and Gerry Philbin was going to be a problem on the defensive line. They got outplayed. The main reason for merging the two leagues was rising player salaries. The owners didn’t want to pay more money for players by competing with each other. Having two football drafts was doing exactly that.

    The "blanket" wouldn't have made the players any warmer, just would have made the ground softer. 3 of the 4 touchdowns in the game were scored through the air, including the first 2 by the Packers. You make it sound like the teams could only run the ball in these conditions. Seems like the cold was the main factor in the game. I don't think Lombardi had any control over the weather.

    As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I love this theory video. However, I don't believe it was a rigged game. This game occurred a little more than 3 years before I was born I do have a few points to mention about NFL games being rigged. 1. Packers legend Jim Taylor admitted in his (auto?)biography he was offsides on the play. 2. While this might have been the first game where a team deliberately messed the field up due to the weather, it definitely wan't the last. The Steelers did something similar in one of their AFC Championship games(may have been the 72 playoff game vs the Raiders best known for the "Immaculate Reception). 3. This was somewhat of a common occurrence through at least 1980. The home team back then often hadbheaters on the sideline to help the players stay warm while they didn't allow the visiting team the same luxury(most ntably the "80 NFC Championship game between the Eagles and Cowboys).

    Just to clarify terminology, "rigged" or "fixed" is when outside or higher parties conspire to make a particular outcome inevitable, such as gambling figures getting players to fail or play poorly, or getting officials to call the game in a biased way. Even if your premise here is true, the term "cheating" is more accurate. A home team creating conditions favorable to the home team has a long, unfortunate history. Each team won only 9 games? That is not impressive at all. The reputation of the teams that year was better than the record. The very next year, the Colts went 13-1 before losing the Super Bowl.

  • @davidmontgomery3763

    I watched that game , and I have bet football for over 50 years. That game was NOT rigged . The best way to rig a game is TO BUY AN OFFICIAL TO THROW THE HOLDING FLAG on a key play or two or BRIBE A PLAYER. This type of GAMEMANSHIP is still going on today ! How about New ENGLAND and the SNOW PLOW ? I see this in every sport and it is called HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE ! You can see it in BASEBALL all the time . Both teams played on the field ! Oh , and the SUPER BOWL was not called THE SUPER BOWL back then , and no one even cared about it . Back then the NFL CHAMPIONSHIP was far more important , The AFL was considered a minor league until SUPER BOWL 3 and the JETS humiliating the 18 point favorite COLTS. This is total MOUTHWASH !

    @Mr.MikeBarksdale Před 8 měsíci +1

    I don't mean to call this into question and risk becoming called a Packers fan, but there are about five major flaws with your whole video.
    #1. You're suggesting that Lombardi made sure the game was played in Green Bay, like he had some say in it. Everyone knew the homefield advantage rotated between the two divisions each year. It was well known that the winner of the Packers division would be the home team. And for proof all you have to do is remember the year before the title game was played in the Cotton Bowl. I know Texas is a little behind the times but I'm pretty sure they even had schedules back then and they just look at if they got confused.
    #2. You suggest that because he hinted at the machine breaking down in an interview that this is somehow proof of it being deliberately broken. As if Lombardi would mention his plan on national TV a few weeks before his master plot. Lombardi was many things, a blabbermouth was not one of them.
    #3.) You hinge the entire argument on the fact that the game was somehow rigged on this one possibility. Rigged implies nothing is left to chance. His team could have just as likely gone out and got beaten in those conditions. The simple fact is if the Cowboys knew they were playing outdoors in Green Bay, Wisconsin in January, and they didn't plan on it being cold then they are a pack of window-licking, short-bus all-stars. That's not rigged, that is just poor planning (to understate it).
    #4. You say the system had worked well in all the games leading up to this game. Yes, they weren't dealing with -14⁰ in those games. The system broke because it was so cold it actually broke the system. You're laying a serious accusation on here and if that's all you have as "proof", I think you owe the Lombardi Family an apology. That's a horrible thing to imply with such scant evidence, my guy.
    #5.) Go back and watch the footage of Bob Hayes. He was nullified in the game because if he was running routes his hands would be out and ready, and tucked in if not. That's not proof of anything (except that you didn't even watch the footage of the game before commenting on it...that and that Bob Hayes is overrated and probably not a Hall of Famer in my eyes). Again, if he didn't know how to get dressed in cold weather so his little hands were warm, then he's a moron. He's a 30 year old grown man. That's a disgrace to all men named Bob.
    Fun fact to end on: the idea cold weather city teams know how to win in the cold is statistically invalid. There is no proof that cold weather has deleterious effects on one side winning or that other teams just "know how to win in the cold".

  • @ricklange7465
    @ricklange7465 Před rokem +1

    Horrible argument- “the field was cold”. But both teams were playing under the same conditions, so using the term ‘rigged’ is inappropriate

  • @LaslowF1997
    @LaslowF1997 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Know the difference between "cheating" and "rigged." What Lombardi did was cheating - rigging would be if the commissioner took the refs aside and said "hey boys, we really want the green and gold playing for us in the AFL-NFL Championship game, make sure that happens." Or if a few of the Cowboys players took some money to throw the game. Breaking the rules to give your team an edge is just cheating.

    Not really sure you understand what 'rigged' means. "Rigged" is to assure a desired outcome. At best this evened the odds, assuming Lombardi knew the Cowboys hadn't brought any cold weather gear. Those field conditions made it worse for the Packers, as well. Packers averaged 24 ppg.

    Didn't they have the same personnel the year before when they lost to the Packers? The Cowboy's points came on a trick play and a Packer turnover as I remember. The Packers were the better team, championship forged. As far as a conspiracy, not hard to imagine 60's technology not working correctly. The Cowboys weren't ready to win yet, even in the Blunder Bowl with the Colts.
