- We had two jobs come in on this day.
The first was the Chevy Suburban at Sand Hollow that just needed a little help back to the pavement.
The second was a Dodge pickup that had been misled by the GPS. It lead them through an abandoned golf course!
We were able to get both of these stranded motorists back on their way without too much trouble this time.

Matt: got Ed as the camera man today
Ed: yep, got a lot of clouds, but no rain
Lol just like an old timer to mention the weather when you’re not even talking about it. I like ol Ed
He's the wEDtherman...
But matt always asks Ed for a weather report. That's why he just does it automatically now lol
I just wanted to tell y all i really like y all s show , and could y all please tell me how much y all want for your hat s my name is tony
Was out at the beach with my son on our side by side yesterday. Found and f250 stuck in the sand deep. We dug him out, and I used your "double jeep" towing. A Jeep Wrangler showed up but couldn't get him out, so I hooked my Side by side up to his Jeep and we pulled together and got him out. The knowledge from your channel helped me help someone else. Thanks Matt! Keep up the videos. Come visit coos Bay sometime
I feel like the education portion of these videos have made a difference in how people get pulled out of sand after two years of .... three years of these videos. How time flies.
It's a shame that people leave trash behind when they leave a little party spot like that one.
Yeah, that sucks. I live by the beach and we see the same thing in the party spots. Show some respect ... be responsible.
I was a telecom tech for a phone company and serviced many cell phone towers in remote locations. Having had off road experience, many times I would just hike the last so many feet to the towers just to avoid situations like that.
I wonder how many people that you pulled out over the years have a sudden urge to get a jeep Cherokee.
I've got the urge, just watching the videos!
My urge for one is what found me these videos XD
My roomate out of highschool had a few. This channel is re igniting the memories. Spent years looking for the perfect vehicle for Wisconsin and trying to save for a Toyota Tacoma I'll never afford.
I am richly blessed. I have three! God is GOOD.
@AngelTheFiend Soon , I hope! Bless you!
You had your fans worried, but the suspense was worth it! Your an awesome guy Matt, your videos are positive and entertaining!
I think you strap a GO PRO on that dog and make it cameraman for the day.
YES PLEASE!
So you wanna get seasick? Cause that's how you get seasick. LOL
@@jrcook927 I've seen some of those go pro dog vids and yes it's kinda intolerable. But hey we'd have the dogs perspective.
Got my vote..
Agree make sure it is water resistant
I like your videos because they show regular people like yourselves helping out other regular people with regular equipment. Most other CZcamsrs have massive budgets with expensive gear that few other people can afford. Keep up the good work!
Awesome Matt keep the videos rolling support any family business behind every good man is a good women behind him you guys are one hell of a team
If I’m ever stuck in Utah I’m calling Matt without question
Yup
Looks like a fun job most of the time.
Ed is the best weatherman I know of
I love your CZcams channel. I just started watching them yesterday and I can't stop, lol. Im usually watching car mod videos but your videos are awesome. Makes me want a Jeep just like yours.
I've almost got all of the roads around there memorized from binge watching your videos from Mississippi!
The perfect formula! Quick videos of something pretty unique out in the CZcamss! Can’t wait to get some merch brother! I love your channel!
Great video Matt! Nice to see the channel going strong again
You’re back and strong as ever! Yeah!!! Love watching your XJ’s yanking out cars with all that power! Fun videos!!!
Love these oldies, where you take us on the trip with you and show us the road ahead. Now, instead of that, you just showing us the innards of the vehicles.
You guys figure out what was wrong with the other jeep?
Keep the videos rolling 🤙🤙
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery I kinda had a similar problem 2 months ago with my 2gen dodge ram I came home early morning after being out all night fish back my boat up in my yard truck diedit turn over had fuel no spark had new coil pack distributor cap rotor bug plugs wire fuse and relays good factory ground too motor and frame good. I trickle charge both battery for a few days and I made up new 0 gauge ground wire to the frame motor and motor to the cab it she fire up been running since 🤷♂️ I been a mechanic since 2005 and this has had me stumped lol. Iij thought it was gonna be the CPU I guess I got lucky.
Very cool. Can't believe there's an abandoned Golf Course out there. You and your crew are good guys Matt. I think you have inadvertently painted a very humble picture of all you guys. Pentel on one of the videos when you ask your son what are you do. Referring to something totally different. And he replies be a good person. That's gold right there. Have a seventeen-year-old son of my own. Who's a good person. And I'm very proud of him. You should be proud love yourself your crew and your boys. Aloha
That’s the best looking golf course I’ve ever seen! That’s how courses should look, to REALLY test the skills.
Alright Matt! Great to see you fixed the problem with your videos👍🏻
Keep them coming.
Stumbled upon your channel and the past day. I’ve watched your first 40 videos, off to a good start doing pretty good from a phone and not being very tech savvy. Enjoy watching your recovery videos. Keep it up! Looking forward to watching all your videos.
Lived here all my life and I ever knew there was a golf course out there at one time, but then again, I don't golf.
I'd be worried about stepping on snakes.
That entire golf course looks like a sand trap! 😂
Another great video we had a tractor trailer that got lost on our one horse road 10:30 at night took 3 hours to get him out lol it was fun thanks for sharing God Bless you and your family
Good to see that Ed made it out for Act 2. 👍
I like your way of solving the problems you encounter when picking up cars that are in difficulty.
This channel has shown me just how beautiful Utah is
Love your videos man. Keep it up!
Another job well done!
That view at 4:32- amazing!!
New to the channel, absolutely love the real towing vids. That jeep is definitely a beast. As far as the GPS and the towers, I know all about that. Did work for American Towers for years. This is actually a common occurrence. It's even worse when the site directions are just as bad as the GPS. Did many corrections myself. Keep up the good work and we'll keep watching them..
Great content Matt, I know you're towing primarily , but filming it is a great way to supplement your income and it's always entertaining to watch , keep up the great work 👍
I have a deep love of dogs as do many people. I am delighted with the loving care Matt shows his two. I wish I knew whose dog the third one is at the yard. That dog never gets to go along, and I do not know why.
Good morning Matt
Like you said in your last video about the iCloud I had the same issue but for 99 cents a month I got unlimited storage.
Keep up the great videos brother because Love the scenery reminds me of the 25 years I lived in Grand Junction Colorado but when my last Daughter graduated from school I moved back to my home state of Florida and now just visit hehehehe but don’t miss the long winters but still drive in it since I’m a over the road truck driver. Take care brother and be safe 🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Fascinating place and so beautiful.
Love the drive too video and your awesome truck
Many things I love about your channel the scenery is one for sure
I really enjoy watching your videos I appreciate! you taking the time to post on you tube. thanks man. I travel a lot to snt George and cedar City for work hopefully one day I can stop by your place and say hello... thanks
Your videos are awesome please keep them coming! Thank you
Can you turn your wheels !!!! Lmbo !!! Its so much easier that way.
It is funny isn't it? I mean, it seems like common sense....but I guess sense is not all that common!
I have seen this same thing happen in other videos on this channel. I think that it might be a natural reflex. The driver is in her or his own car which they are used to stepping on the gas and then turning the steering wheel the way they want steer it. When Matt starts pulling to the left or right the drivers first instinct are to try to keep the vehicle going straight which means they are turning the steering wheel against the pull.
I have heard in some situations Matt`s instructions to drivers to put car in neutral and leave it there, it is his dicision depending on what he is planning on doing. Since this video didn`t have his instructions to the driver (which he always gives) edited in, you are making perhaps an errorneous assumtion, that the driver is at fault.

Get the GoPro 360 camera, mount it high then we can look around and see everything lol love the videos just plain fun to watch
Great video thank you!
So we got a call ☺️☺️ please keep posted everyday..
That's cool! I've never heard of an abandoned golf course. That would be cool to explore and play around on with a dirty bike, side by side or mountain bike.
Man - great channel!! Used to live in Cedar City and recognize a bunch of the places you go. Cool rig, great channel - keep it up!
Great video brother. Keep up the great work!
So humble
Cool....... As always, you show me something to see when I make it out to your part of Utah.
Another great video thank you
even the Dog gave the face like "that was random Ed"
You had me going there for a second. Your title suggested an old golf course but then you then mentioned Sand Hollow. I thought that was a play on words-Sand Trap. Funny on me. You actually went to an abandon golf course That would have been a wicked place to ride a golf cart! How did you ever find a golf ball if you hit it out-of-bounds. It reminds me of an golf course in Summerville NC. Summerville is a community in Guilford Co about a 30 minutes drive from Greensboro NC the city I grew up in. It was an old farm pasture that someone decided that it would work as a golf course. It was okay if you stayed in the fairways but trying to find a ball in the out-of-bounds area was a 15-20 minute throw up your arms moment!
Great video and I like what you do! I wish I could say that for my job! 😂
Good filming Ed!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
"watched!"...oh and we like the music you play on the videos...the one with the "whistle" :)
Just bought a hat. I love your customer service and channel. I've only had a Ma-Duece wrecker pull me out here but soon enough I'll give you some business out west
Because we don't have off road recovery over here in the UK 🇬🇧...I appreciate this so much.. Matt I have a business idea now 😂
That would make a great go-cart track!
I've been a super swamper kinda guy for 25 years, but I bought me a set of those duratracs a few years ago and love em. They even perform well in sticky mud. I wish they made em in like a 37x13.5
Ive been Using Cooper Discovery STT Pros. I've love these Skins. They get good mileage and they work great for me. They do good Mud Rocks Hills Snow. Im in Western Pa Butler Pa Birth Place of the Jeep. Do great on thr terrain we wheel on here. I daily drive my XJ Swammpers are AWSOME but for a daily drive Ehhhhh.
Why do people feel it's ok to leave trash like this?
Mr.Negro Social Studies TMS I feel ya there, I was so pissed off seeing all those beer cans everywhere😤😤😤
Because humans are pieces of trash
He should of left their truck stuck until they picked all those cans and bottles up.
@@zombie8068 I dont think they left them
Mr.Negro Social Studies TMS yeah, it’s awful when we’re out in the middle of nowhere backpacking at 7K+ and we find a small dump of current garbage- totally sad.
That would be very cool to purchase an old abandoned golf course and have all sorts of paths and roads. And sand traps. Coarse sand. And moats.
I like Ed's weather reports! LOL.
That Ram 1500 on the cart path--I've also driven a 'regular' vehicle on a golf cart path. But, I was in the UK, and in limited visibility because of the fog. Unlike Will & Zack, I was able to get turned around once I realized that, even for the UK, this 'roadway' was just too narrow... [because of the fog, the golf course wasn't visible]
In all the time I have been watching this channel, I have never seen that Golf Course. Very interesting.
fun stuff ... enjoyed it more more :)
On the way to the second recovery, tall butte in the distance is Smithsonian Butte, and to its left in the farther background is Eagle Crags. The golf course is the Kokopelli Golf Club at 4785 Demille Turf Rd, Apple Valley, UT 84737-3830 ( 37.104,-113.201 GoogleMaps coords). It closed in 2013, sixteen years before this recovery. The golfcart pavement still shows clearly in the GoogleMaps satellite images.
Had to subscribe. Great vids
Enjoyed. Easy one!
Act II is at the abandoned Kokopelli Golf Club. It was a 18-hole golf course located in Apple Valley, near Hurricane. The course first opened for play in 2009. BYU legend Bruce Summerhays designed the course. At 7,600 yards it was the longest, and most challenging, course in Utah according to the Utah Golf Association. The course closed in 2012 after only 3 years and although I live 30 minutes away, I never played it. The course opened in 2009 with much acclaim for its beauty. The timing was terrible however, as the area was in a recession. Hundreds of houses went back to the bank in neighboring St. George. The few golfers who played the course praised it, but their numbers were too few and the recession killed any prospects of any real estate development adjacent to the course. It is amazing to see the desert totally reclaim the greens, as evidenced in Matt's video and on Google's satellite views. Sad.
Beautiful camera work on first recovery.
Movin on up!👍
You guys are awesome and provide some super cool stuff. Thanks for all your hard work! Rock On! Can you show us viewers- ie me- how you operate your winches & spool up your line properly w/ binding? I’ve frayed/mangled my line about 10-15ft from hook cause the cage of motor case - I really hope you know what I’m talkings out without having to explain more. Thanks
Always interesting and a thumbs up video
That's the best kind of golf course.
Awesome dog!!!
I would love to here the thoughts of people when Matt circles their stuck vehicles
that jeep need some amber strobes , theres a few cheap ones on ebay easy to wire with theyr own memory etc it would look bad ass with strobes on the side and front etc
I like the videos 👍👍 saw you guys on the towlivesmatter page
I'd like to see exactly how that truck got stuck. No hills, very very little sand, hard pack. Oh yeah... Your check engine light is on 😉😆
Hello amigo!!! You have the best job of the world.!!! Salud!! From Uruguay!!! I would like visit this places and your jeep!! I have my old brasilian willys 67!!! Thanks!!!!! Sorry for my english...
Par for the course. Regarding the stuck pick up whose four wheel drive was not working, the same thing happened to me. In a 2015 Nissan Xterra. The first time I ever really needed four wheel drive in the Xterra was when I pulled down onto a gravel bar on the Current river in Missouri to load my kayak on a trailer. The wheels started to spin, so I turned the switch to four wheel drive. It would not engage. Turned out to be a wheel sensor connected to the stability control. If anything had a poor connection the computer would not engage the transfer case. I thought that was bullshit so I soon traded the POS for a Toyota 4Runner.
The music is great. Normal speed videos of just driving down the road with this music would be great.
I love this channel
Matt, my wife always uses the truck GPS and her phone using 3 apps. One tells where the cops are, one shows accidents and detour routes. It also shows everyone using it, if the cops use it to.
just today, my GPS took me off the main road as I was coming up to a simple intersection turn.... off the main road, into a side street, then another side street, back to the turn-main road.... in other words round the other two sides of a square, for no reason... I lost about 2 seconds... and had to travel on a dark grey bitumen instead of black... talk about an adventure !! ... modern day columbus... a walk on the wild side... crazy GPS
Fast work is needed before the beach is flooded with the tide!
My god.. i love this place 😒❤️
Keep up the good videos Matt. Technology pita sometimes.
Great videos, if you are looking for a dedicated camera for filming, the DJI pocket would be a good little camera. You would probably want to ad a shotgun mic to help with audio. As far as a wireless mic that you could clip on yourself the rode wireless go mics are a good option. Being around national parks I’m not sure how much you could use a drone, but the DJI mavic air is the best value for money, or for over all distance and performance the DJI mavic 2.
My GPS said drive off a cliff. Save me!
those snatch lines makes a world of difference
I heard you say the magic is in the rope. I beg to differ. The magic is in your size 18 right boot...and the lockers help I guess.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
golf course abandoned but sand trap still doing its job
Those golf cart roads be great for go-carts!
Some pretty brutal "drop offs", like at 5:36. You'd want to have a pretty good roll cage for sure. Something like the old Honda Pilot Buggy. (likely a bit more fun that the newer Razr type stuff)
Hey Matt, love what your doin and wanna suggest getting an RA Design shifter for the Jeep to take care of the ol 1-2-1-2 shifting we all love about our jeeps
Also think about installing the Transgo HD2 shift kit too. I’ve had the kit in my 2000 XJ for a while now and it has made quite the difference.
I've never drivin a 4wd but want to now.
I think this is the first time Ed mentioned the weather, which has become his trade mark that others have tried to imitate.
That would be me too lol. I live by GPS
