Since their borders closed, those who wanted to go back never could. And its not like all of them would of forgotten their Wano culture. Some may. The fact that green bull was fasting while the flashback shows samurai don’t go hungry are too convenient. It also reflects on the whole zoro and sanji bro beef, having zoro have a father that doesn’t eat is such a middle finger to our royal chef
They introduced Ushimaru, Zoro, and Greenbull as all fasting. Ushimaru gave his food to Yamato. Zoro was fasting for a little girl too. Greenbull hadn't eaten in several years.
Also to note that Greenbull is starving for 3 years, so approximately beginning the same time as Zoro was(2years timeskip, some months the actual story +1month where he was in that marine base) and then doing that callback to how Zoro got the food. Genius.

No it's not. That's just showing how badass the Samurai are. Kinemon said the same thing in Punk Hazard, is that a clear reference to Ryokugyu? Ushimaru is saying that a Samurai's determination is so strong that they won't give in to hunger. This doesn't mean that he doesn't get hungry and won't starve to death if he doesn't eat. Ryokugyu hasn't eaten in three years, there's gotta be something about his Devil Fruit ability there.
We all know that every laugh is unique in One Piece. The anime suggests that Zoro and Green Bull have the same laugh. Pretty much no other characters have a similar laugh to another character.
because its not rlly proof lol, starvation and hunger is a massive theme of wano so you can draw that parallel with anyone plus, samurais DO feel hunger, but they'd never admit it. when they told yamato that, their intention is that they'd sooner starve themselves than let a child go hungry
If this is true then doflamingo’s speech seems legit as he questioned out “Who is gonna side with who ?” “Who is gonna betray who ? “ As we already have bigmom and kaido sided with each other and I think we will see Fujitora and Greenbull who’s gonna betray the navy by taking down the celestial dragons
I remember seeing a post on Reddit talking about a question Oda answered in an SBS a couple of years ago. The question was "What would the nationalities of each Straw-Hat be in the real world?" and Oda said that Luffy would be Brazilian, Zoro would be Japanese, Nami would be Swedish, Usopp would be African, Chopper would be Canadian, Robin would be Russian, Franky would be American and Brook would be Austrian. So since Zoro would be Japanese, they were wondering whether or not Zoro would be from Wano, and turns out they were right!!
I always assumed Zoro was from Wano but, though when they revealed it it would be more of a gag. Like his sense of direction was so bad that when he set off to sea he some how ended up breaking space-time and making his way to East Blue which is on the complete opposite side of the planet.
ever thought of being thankful that Oda's genius is relayed to us through these wonderful One Piece youtubers? I have continuously waited for new releases of one piece for more than 10 years and I would never even have notoced the majority of the hints, subtleties, and foreshadowing that Oda has done if not for people like Mr Morj.
Too bad, this specific theory will never be accepted by any Admiral-lover since it would mean that Kaido alone beat 2 Admirals. And if it turns out, this theory is true, they'll twist and misinterpret it like they always do.
@@Zero-ef4sc That's the one piece fanbase for you lol. They would've gotten stronger since then too, so it's fine. Look at how much stronger inu, neko, Ashura are than kinnemon, Kiku etc. Just to an even higher degree. We've seen what Fujitora can do even.
When you started talking about how "Ishou was from Wano so Ryukugyou is from Wano too" part I was like "I'll believe the Smoker becomes a SH theory first before this". Then you laid out all the parallels and it dawned on me: Fujitora hates Pirates so much that he is willing to put his reputation on the line to eliminate the use of the Shichibukai. He's stated a lot that the Schibukai have gone unchecked for too long and that they have taken control over countries and caused suffering (Crocodile & Dofflamingo). What if hatred of that specific reason came from a very specific experience? Of a pirate taking control of his own coutry and causing suffering to his people? That definitely adds layers to Fujitora's motivations. Now I'm not saying I'm completely sold with Green Bull being Zoro's father, but at least the part where Ishou might be from Wano seems pretty solid to me.
It make no sense for fujitora to go throu hell because of kaido just to go and obsess with warlords who have nothing to do With it instead of the yonkos His reason for blinding himself should be related to a warlord
Greenbull has been fasting for 3 years, while Zoro first made a name for himself as a pirate… 3 years ago. Very loose connection but I can’t imagine Oda mentioning the length of his current fasting without specific intentions
It’s absolutely shocking how few people in the comments have the basic understanding of how time works and that this was made in the past (before now) where they didn’t have all the info we have now
You know what, after coming back to a video like this like a year later, after the raid succeeded and it turned out that Green Bull most likely isn’t related to Zoro(based on personality alone), I gotta say that theories like this are still really great! Like, thinking “haha the theory wasn’t true after all what a joke 🤣😂🤣😂” gets really boring after a short time, and even when theories are proved wrong, it’s great that there’s room to actually speculate about story aspects like this 🤔👍🏾
I feel like zoro saying "That Blade..." was him noticing that it's a trick sword, since immediately after he's like "well you didn't say you were a swordsman after all"
Zoro was surprised because it was a freakin swordbreaker! He knew his swords are in danger. This is how he's going to lose Sandai Kitetsu(possibly be broken) and receive the Nidai Kitetsu.
Yea that was a weak point, if anything I find Kings reaction more interesting. He talks about how he never understood why anyone would stick to traditional forms and techniques in a real battle, obviously he had fought some samurai like that in the past. Then in the last panel before it switches to Kawamatsu revealing Ushimaru, we see King being silent and staring at Zoro. It migth be revealed later that he fought Ushimaru in the past and seeing Zoro reminds him about it. Anyway, his other points are pretty convincing, Ushi meaning bull, the color green, their introduction... Green Bull's line about fasting and maybe breaking it if a young girl would feed him seems kinda random but it makes so much sense if you think about how Zoro was introduced. I would have never noticed this on my own but I totally believe in this theory now.
If Luffy liberating Wano makes 2/3 of the Admirals revolt against the WG.. it would really help with the narrative of how freeing Wano is going to help bring the Dawn.
It wouldn't make 2/3 of the Admirals revolt though. If Green Bull is from Wano he'd at most be grateful to Luffy for what he did. But he wouldn't want to give up the World to the Pirates. I think it would be Akainu that pushes him. Not Luffy liberating Wano. Fujitora is likely going to fight Akainu towards the end. That much is obvious since the events at Dressrosa. Wano wouldn't have much to do with it. He has disagreed with Akainu's concept of justice and how the World Government has been doing things from the start. But he wont let the pirates win. Remember that the pirates are still the bad guys. It will be ultimately up to the Marines to bring about true world peace and Luffy will just end up getting caught in the middle.
I love this theory but my only question is even though Fujitora was blinded and therefore could not identify any citizen of Wano, shouldnt Kinemon been able to recognize a possible former Daimyo on Wano? Or a notable citizen with that kind of strength??
Fujitora didn't travel into the future, he aged. He would be 20 years older than when Kinemon last saw him. The citizens of Wano didn't even recognize Yasuie, and he was an aged Daimyo as well. Nobody recognized Okiku either, even though she looked identical to 20 years ago.
@@slyduck8772 it is rather likely that even if Fujitora was from Wano, he wouldn't know all the names of Oden's retainers. That said, even *if* he knew Kinemon's name, Fujitora is and was following long-term plans by joining the marines - hence he wouldn't divert from his plans just to contact Kinemon in Dressrosa. He needs to stay as "undercover" as he can in the Marines, otherwise he could not continue as planned - no need to draw any attention to the fact that you happen to know these Samurai from Wano.

I've always thought there was a Parallel between Fujitora purposefully closing his eyes to the world and Wano literally closing its borders. It's sort of feels symbolic somehow. Maybe it shows an insight to his character, one who believes that the damage from such atrocities cannot be reversed, the same way that his eyes cannot be restored.
At this point it just makes no sense to have kept Ryokugyu as a silhouette for so long if his appearance wasn't going to be an important reveal. He has to be either a known character or someone that looks a lot like a known character, and now it all makes sense.
If I recall correctly, Sakazuki's appearance was also hidden when we first saw him? And also it doesn't fit the actor theme if green bull is ushimaru (who literally just looks like zoro)
@@downhillracers I’m aware. My point is the timing. He was introduced as a silhouette in chapter 801. Then he appeared as a silhouette again in 905. When is it gonna turn out to be a cool reveal? At this stage in the story I don’t see how a random character introduced so late in the game could have the need to have his appearance hyped up like this. Fujitora was shown very quickly, why is the appearance of Ryokugyu being so suspenseful?
I also want to point out that Oda loves his parallels, yes, but especially so with his father-son dynamics. A lot of them are opposites of each other ex. Luffy-Dragon, Sanji-Judge, Momo-Oden, Doffy-Homing, etc. This could still be the case with Zoro and Green Bull being introduced the same way but under different circumstances
I have been watching morj for years and should know better, but I still see his titles for his theory videos and react skeptically like "ok buddy". and yet he almost always convinces me with the evidence he finds by the end of the videos lol.
Just change Ushimaru to being Zoro's grandpa, sending his son with his grandson, or sending his grandson after his son was killed to the Shimotsuki village in East Blue. Ushimaru today would be around the same age as Hyogoro.
That makes sense. Green Bull's silhouette makes him look fairly young. And we can expect him to be modelled after a famous Japanese actor like the rest of the admirals, which Ushimaru doesn't appear to be. It could be a parallel to Luffy as well. Luffy and his grandfather are almost exactly alike in appearance and personality, where Dragon (symbolism?) seems to share very little in common with either of them.
A lot of theory about Greenbull's devil fruit is thst he can manipulate time or control plants, etc. something that will make him live without eating. So, him looking like younger can also be a result of this. I am not saying I fully support the theory, but Ushimaru's age alone wouldn't be an issue.
Bike&raft's theory is that ushimaru's brother was the father of zoro's teacher (koshiro, making him and kuina a shimotsuki). He left 51 years ago and founded Shimotsuki's village in east blue where he had a son (koshiro) and maybe a daughter that married a man surnamed Ronoroa, that couple had a son named Zoro. That would explain zoro's surname and also why Koshiro agreed on giving his family sword, his eirloom, to Zoro. In that case he would simply give his sword to his niece so nothing strangr about that
But isn't Ushimaru's father the one who ran out from Wano and built Shimotsuki village in East Blue? Based on the timeline and age, he should be 2 generations above Zoro, not 3.
Maybe green bull ate a used smile fruit. When he broke out of the cave, he and his comrades gave the food to Yamato, so he has to be hungry. He's seen smiling/laughing in all the sillouettes and he forces himself to starve himself. Maybe he's so ashamed to have fallen in the trap that he no longer trusts food.
That could be it but I doubt because every Admiral has a devil fruit power. Pleasures, despite not gaining any power, still lose the ability to swim so I'd assume that they also have the other disadvantage of not being able to eat more than 1 devil fruit. If Green Bull ate a bad smile fruit than he probably wouldn't have any DF power, which isn't the case with every other Admiral
I never thought it was any question, even officially, that Fujitora is from Wano. It never crossed my mind to imagine otherwise, since it's frankly silly as heck if he is not from Wano, being a direct copy of a Samurai from a classic Samurai movie series (Zatoichi), and introduced when the plan to take down Kaido was established and in the working. If those people Zoro grew up with (who don't really look like Wano, but "modern" and boring) tie back to Wano's story, Oda would have no excuse to make one of the only Samurai-looking characters outside of Wano ever, appearing directly before it, not be from there (at least by family).
He didn't seem to recognize the presence of the 2 samurai that were some of Oden's retainers in Dressrosa either (they all pushed back on the birdcage with Zoro in the same location).
@@Qw3r1z yeah you’re right and I was just wondering if Fujitora would have treated them any differently if he knew that they were traveling with Momonosuke. Obviously there’s no way he would’ve found out unless somebody blurted it out, but I wonder how he would’ve reacted
Awesome theory! And about the last part of your video where you talk about a tiger and an ox in Momotaro's tale, I just realized there's another character who's been continuously portrayed as a tiger throughout the story, and who would make much more sense than Fujitora as the tiger that fights alongside the boy (Momo), the monkey (Luffy), the dog (Yamato), the pheasant (either Marco or someone from the Kozuki clan like Hiyori) and the ox (Ryokugyu). It's no one else than Zoro himself, and him being part of the "Momotaro team" against Kaido along with Ryokugyu would all but confirm your theory that he is, in fact, his son. Not to mention that if two admirals (Fujitora and Ryokugyu, in your theory) came to Wano to take on Kaido at the same time and with the additional help of Luffy and Yamato, the fight wouldn't be fair even for a beast like Kaido and it would make for an unsatisfying ending with little to no growth for Luffy/Yamato.
When has Zoro shown to fast or even that is something to this character?? Also, those Samurai were not fasting!! They were prisoners being tortured by making them starve!
the fact that he said, "Samurai do not feel hunger" to yamoto and that Ryukogyu said I haven't eaten in 3 years. And fujitora says "you're STILL fasting?" makes the connection even stronger
Surprised you also didn't mention the SBS of Oda saying he's really excited to draw Green Bull yet shortly after he still leaves him silhouetted. Green Bull being related to Zoro makes a lot of sense however a lot of the points of Fujitora being a daimyo are kinda out there, still agree with him being related to Wano in some sense.
Just look at their real name, if their names are japanese, they all are mostlikely connected to Wano, be it being born there, or their parents are from there or their ancestors are from there. Iirc, Fujitora's name is Isshou and I'm not sure if it's a japanese name but if it is, then he is definitely somehow connected to Wano. Every character with a japanese name will end up being connected to wano in some way.

Genius.

Maybe if the theory with Greenbull being Zoro's father is real, he might turn against the Navy to help his son if he would recognize him.
So since Zoro would be Japanese, they were wondering whether or not Zoro would be from Wano, and turns out they were right!!
brasiiiillll!!!!!!
I always assumed Zoro was from Wano but, though when they revealed it it would be more of a gag. Like his sense of direction was so bad that when he set off to sea he some how ended up breaking space-time and making his way to East Blue which is on the complete opposite side of the planet.

Thanks, random One Punch Man for sayings what was needed to be said.
There's also the possibility that Kaido was at one point a part of the warlord system.
It make no sense for fujitora to go throu hell because of kaido just to go and obsess with warlords who have nothing to do With it instead of the yonkos

Like, thinking “haha the theory wasn’t true after all what a joke 🤣😂🤣😂” gets really boring after a short time, and even when theories are proved wrong, it’s great that there’s room to actually speculate about story aspects like this 🤔👍🏾
I feel like zoro saying "That Blade..." was him noticing that it's a trick sword, since immediately after he's like "well you didn't say you were a swordsman after all"
When these One apiece theorist get too popular their theories take a nose dive 🤦♀️
What a joke

@@ChristianAuditore14 🤡
5-head thinking right there
It wouldn't make 2/3 of the Admirals revolt though.
Man I hope I live long enough to see this masterpiece conclude with all its ends/threads tied.
Still might happen
I love this theory but my only question is even though Fujitora was blinded and therefore could not identify any citizen of Wano, shouldnt Kinemon been able to recognize a possible former Daimyo on Wano? Or a notable citizen with that kind of strength??
Fujitora didn't travel into the future, he aged. He would be 20 years older than when Kinemon last saw him. The citizens of Wano didn't even recognize Yasuie, and he was an aged Daimyo as well. Nobody recognized Okiku either, even though she looked identical to 20 years ago.
didn't doffy also announce kinemon's name when giving the bounties too
@@slyduck8772 it is rather likely that even if Fujitora was from Wano, he wouldn't know all the names of Oden's retainers.

@@davidabraham5415 time would make sense, cause conveniently there is a time fruit in the wano story that sends people to the future.

It would also be pretty cool that Sanji is fighting Queen who knows Judge and Zoro is fighting King who probably knows Zoro's father. It would be even cooler if Sanji and Zoro's fathers lost to King and Queen and it is up to Zoro and Sanji to overcome thier fathers and beat the calamaties.
Don't want to argue much but i don't think that someone strong enough to become an admiral is losing to commanders
If they did lose then maybe they didn't have their dfs at that time otherwise it doesn't make sense
@@vizoredd6781 If they did lose when kaido invaded, it would have been 20 years ago. I'd say that's plenty of time for them to train and become admiral level, especially if they fought king and queen at the time. (They most likely lost, but still survived)
@@feyyren5547 as i said i don't think they lost to king and queen but lost to kaido himself
But who knows....we will see what happens later
@@vizoredd6781 You said you don't think someone strong enough to become an admiral is losing to commanders. Kaido isn't a commander. Also, if they could even stand against kaido 20 years ago, survived, and then trained for 20 years and weren't admiral level, that would be a bit stupid.
@@feyyren5547 bruh what the are u talking about😭😭
I have no problem with them losing to kaido. I just said that i don't think they lost to king and queen
Greenbull being Zoro's father would actually suddenly create a twist to zoro vs kizaru or zoro vs fuji theory!!!
Zoro vs fuji would be dope.
Who thought zoro would fight kizaru lol it's fuji or green bull
Green Bull Go Burrr
Zoro isn't fighting any admiral EoS, he's fighting Samurai Gandhi and then MIhawk
@@ZZ-ex8py no need to bring Gandhi in between bruh
Lol zoro cant be the son of a 🍑
Best theory I have heard in a WHILE. Great job Morj
