love the videos. I got a 940 a few months back and have quickly fell in love
I got this when my Bugout broke. It’s a perfect mixture of size & weight, it’s practical and classy. It become my go to edc knife.
Absolutely amazing review thank you so much for the information my dude and for your opinion!
What’s wrong with s30v? 😅 I remember when it was like the best blade steel you could get.
This knife is on sale on blade HQ at the moment, for 115$.
in fact it is. This will be my first knife. As the biggest negitive has been removed i think im going to get it!
good honest review. I am salivating over this knife, as a RAT 2 guy, this feels like the prefect high-rent version of what i like to carry. But talk about high-rent! The price is a deal breaker for me, i just can't justify close to $200 for a 3" bit of steel that i throw into my pocket daily. But if i were to trip over a bag of money, this would be my first purchase!
Ill get a para 3. And then a tops overlander, tops bob, 945bk-1, tops devil claw . . . and and and . . .
I just got mine. I'll probably carry it when I travel to some states with stricter blade length laws. The colors are nice and it's a smooth flipper out of the box. Usually my benchmade knives needed a break in period to be this good flipping open and closed with the axis lock. Sadly benchmade still doesn't know how to make a grippy G10. Wish they would make G10 as grippy as it is on my spyderco paramilitary 2. I'll still continue to EDC my green aluminum 940 though.
I've got a mini bugout with the grivory handles and really love this sucker. I'm a fan of the clip, even though it has slightly frayed a pocket of my jeans when trying to clip it. I also like the weight, but at the same time, I'm considering getting some new scales for it. Maybe orange G10 or titanium... Heck, might just have to get another.
Great video brother!
Thanks Chris! Cheers man.
how would you compare this to the Benchmade Emissary 3"??
Was thinking about picking this knife up. But I’m also considering something like a microtech utx-85. Anyone have thoughts on which would be a better buy for edc?
The mini osborne would be a better option in terms of EDC. My UTX-85 is with microtech for service but a review will be live as soon as I get it back!
Would you buy this or the new carbon fiber bugout?
Good video! I didn’t know this knife was coming, until BM sent me an email today. I immediately bought it, right from their website. Love the 940’s and this one will fit right in.
Is the axis lock safe? Anyone ever had a spring break?
If benchmade ever wants to send me knives to test out if he more than happy!
Beautiful knife!
Blade is slightly different shape from the original. Original blade wasn’t as tall relative to the length, they kinda changed the aspect ratio on this mini one which is probably to improve the strength as a direct shrink of the original blade would probably make the blade too flimsy. The blade looks chubbier though as a result which is probably not a big deal to most.
I made the switch to sebenza. I got tired of my 940 blade chipping, and I was out hunting and the lock spring broke. I had to jam a stick behind the lock to finish. But in all fairness, I use my knives a lot for everything. But if your stuck in mountains and snow, my sebenza is the best knife I've ever owned. I can even sharpen it on a stone from the ground (s35vn steel), and I can't do that with the s30v/s90v steel. In town general edc, 940/mini is a great carry.
I’m also a huge fan of my sebenza. Sounds like you’re a hard user so S35VN is probably the best route
The large has now become a great deal.
I kinda want to invest in a nicer knife is this worth it? if not any recommendations?
This or the para 3. Well worth it.
After all the reviews on clips, I went for mxg mini grip deep carry...ZERO hotspots.
Love everything about this with the exception of the axis lock bar should have been black to match the rest of the knife. Great video 👍
I’m not a mini knife guy but that looks sweet
I’m not either but it is sweet
I have the benchmade 940 with G10 I don’t recommend that scale it’s way to slippery for wet conditions the wore down in 3 months
Yes love the videos and I’m thinking about getting a bench made
Benchmade is my personal favorite and well worth the buy
@@solomonlee7207 are they all the same??
@@nathanavina2974 No you have all different styles and types. You really just need to go on the website and look around. I personally love them for the quality of the knives and how they treat the customers. Lifetime blade warranty which means free sharpening if you don’t do it yourself. Plus they are great at going the extra mile.
@@nathanavina2974 I can personally spend too much time on the website looking at knives to put on my gift list
@@solomonlee7207 ok thanks
I about to buy my second Benchmade I have the orange bugout mini if you had a choice between a)black mini Osborne b)green mini Osborne c)carbon and blue bugout which would you pick I can't decide going with your answer ❔❓❔❓❔❓❔❓
I suggest waiting until august 😉 that’s all I can say for now. If I had to pick, the green Osborne 👌🏼
I do not like the split arrow clip.
I would change it out with a silver 940 osborne clip.
Where do you get your hair cuts
Lol I’ve trusted one man with my hair. And his name is Leighton 😂😂🤙🏼
Lol
i got my mini osborne with an olive green grip and a purple spine accent instead of blue
Should i get the original or mini osborne?
It depends if you want lightweight and small vs slightly small and slightly lightweight lol. I like them both. If I had to choose, the mini 945 is what I’d go with.
Blade ops is out 1 day later lol
I love me some mini stuff
Does it have spring assisted opening?
I love knives I can't afford 😩
No First production print?
Sent directly from benchmade so I had no control over that lol. I wish it was a first production.
@@EverydayMinimalist Cool, hopefully mine arrives next week, managed to get one of ten coming into the country 👍🏻
Another reason Benchmade use the spilt arrow clip on the 940 is because it was also designed by warren Osborne. So every 940 comes with it as tribute to him.
the normal 940s do not have that clip from factory
That is a lot of money for the materials same goes for a lot of their knives but their still nice your better off getting the big one
The Original 940 was allready slim and small for its length... i dont think this one will do me any favours!
How did you go about getting sponsors? I’m thinking about starting a knife/edc channel myself
I started with my photography and it evolved from there!
I love the 940 but the price is nuts. If you like it you should get it... BUT For $150 you can get the knifeworks.com exclusive Hogue Ritter mini RSK with a 20CV blade and gmascus handle scales. It has a better bang for buck and very similar if not even better action and fidget factor.
I cant believe greenbay packers didnt comment lol
Amberdexterous?
I can’t help to disagree with the negatives you saw on the knife, I’ll break it down:
- Price: I agree, it is expensive. However, one of the points you made while taking about the price was “$175 for S30V and G10 scales…” and well, maybe it wasn’t the case at the time you made this video, but it comes with aluminum handles now as well. Blade steel could be improved.
- Pocket clip: I dislike the pocket clip it comes with, but I don’t understand what there is not to like about the Mini deep carry clip, you said it had hotspots, I don’t see them, it works beautifully for me, and I do like my clips somewhat tight because the last thing I want is my $175 knife flying out of my pocket.
- Back spacer: This one I feel strongly about and I think it’s a little less subjective. I believe barrel spacers are generally simply superior, because they allow things (pocket lint, dirt, gunk) to pass through the knife, instead of getting stuck there, and they allow you to see through the whole knife freely. (And on the more subjective side I think the smaller details of purple look even more elegant).
I know there is a point to be made about the closed spine as far as maybe if you carry your knife with your keys they could go in there and damage your blade but, first don’t carry your keys in the same pocket, second I think that’s very unlikely, and third I personally don’t carry keys.
So, that’s my personal, subjective, opinion. Good video! And I love the 945 mini, near perfection. The only real improvement I could see is blade steel which I believe they made in better steel anyway for a higher price, but then again I actually don’t care very much about blade steel and think that S30V is toootally fine.
945 auto?
Make : we’ve got a knife just smaller
Me : what’s the price
Maker: 175
Me: why?
Maker: cuz it’s smaller
Am I the only one not seeing it in blade ops?
Sold out on there page, i use first responder or gov discount directly from bm its cheaper
@@roncedad7032 if I had that luxury I would as well
Mini Osborne? Instant buy.
Probably the only knife I immediately knew I wouldnt keep. Terrible ergonomics and scaling compared to a normal osborne.
Hi
I really hate being poor 😂
Knife collecting is spendy that’s for sure 😅
*wallet screaming*
i really hate g 10 i wish they made them with aluminum
Please please please send me mini Osborne
$175 with G10? No thanks.
Own many Benchmade knives and love them. However I and thinking the ran out of ideas for this year. These mini versions are just garbage and a bit to small. And you would rather have a loose pocket clip?!🤦🏻♂️ Good way to loose you blade there bud.
To darn small IMO
The electric blue inside is horrible, and the reason it won't be this one (it's a shame) 👍👍
Why even make a mini? It's already a small knife.
Haha the 940 is considered small in some peoples hands. If it were me, I’d carry the 945 just because I like a more lightweight carry. But I totally see your perspective. I mean hey, it’s a win for us consumers. We get more options regardless 🤟🏼
Does anyone come to CZcams to find out the specs? I wish reviewers would stop padding out their videos with information that is easily available. I care about your opinions but in this review you seem to be almost apologetic every time you voice one.
🤔And how would you voice your criticism if the product you're reviewing was provided to you by the manufacturer🧐 Personally I appreciate reviewers providing the specs because I might not necessarily have any prior knowledge of the product being reviewed and getting some specs might tell me if it would even be worthwhile for me to look up any further information on it.
To stiff. Too tiny.
so you have funny 7 thousand followers, in month almost nobody see it and benchmade sent knife directly to you? yep in your dream mate
Throw me a thumbs down?
