@@porscheman998 Wasn't just controls, the Monster's hitbox's could be wonky as shit at times. I don't think I ever beat the game but I'm positive I got to Kilazee eventually.
it took me a long time to find out how you finish off a monster. when my sister says this must happen with level 4 the plasma shot and the meter says finish so i tried... and ka-boom.
how to win at this game: 1. Jump really high 2. Do the kick and land on the monster 3. Repeat until finish I remember being so happy to find that strategy as a kid and finally beat the game
Bro I'm playing the rom right now and Im searching for how to do the finish move. I got this as a kid too and could never get past the first stage and I was so mad at my mom for buying me that crap for Christmas😂
Majaba seems to be the most popular of all the Ultraman Great monsters. He/she has appeared on commercials, on the cover of the snes game, and even in a recent live performance fighting Ultraman Mebius.
@@adamharits2630 Speaking from experience, the problem as a kid is not realizing you have to use a full powered special move. Enemies will just live forever unless you use that move.
How many times have the finish been in the health bar and it disappears at the last second when you fire you burning plasma? I cracked my controller once in a fit of rage lol.
The short time limit was part of the show's storyline - "Because of Earth's polluted atmosphere, Ultraman can only maintain his gigantic form for 3 minutes."
"GAH, ZSHUE, BAH!!!" lol, It's so camp and hammy but so fun to watch! What a total flashback! Go Ultraman, go!!!! That one monster was the spitting image of Alf...
I remember paying $5.00 for this game at K-Mart. I think what happen was that they really messed up. I was in check out line with mom and the cashier was really mad. Well he was trying to get help on scanning it and no one came to help so he said how much was it and i couldn't talk right and he only heard the $5.00 part and That's want i got it for. Then with the rest of the money I got candy, chips and that's all i remember. But that game was either $35, $45 or $55 USD. My mom was too busy putting the stuff from the buggy up on the counter and/or filling out her check book at that time.
The gameplay and graphics seem horrid. The atmosphere doesn't look so bad, though. The music also has this eerie sci-fi/horror tone that fits the atmosphere quite well. This game could've been wayyy better in more capable hands.
It was more the gameplay than the graphics that were horrid. The graphics are what suckered a lot of us kids into buying it. Huge sprites, battling with massive monsters...they made it sound great. The animations, controls, moveset, almost everything but the music and character models, were below average. Especially at a time when there were tons of great games. And the things weren't cheap, so you always remember when you get screwed. Some SNES games, especially the niche types (RPGs, etc) could be upwards of $70 US.
I still remember my cousin (who passed in 2009) ranting about this game. "Ultraman is so stupid!!!" Lmao, I would give anything to relive those memories.
Although Bandai tested two versions of the Ultraman game on the SNES in Japan, the one developed by Human Entertainment is the end result. The one developed by Nova Co., Ltd., in which they were rejected in Japan, ended up being released in the U.S., but Ultraman is not as popular in the U.S. as what the Japanese were.
My first snes game - while the game captured in a simplistic way the essence of the series (characters, moves and music) the gameplay and controls were fucked up. I think they tried to simulate giants fighting but it ended up being a clusterfuck to get used with the controls.
I have a video playthrough of me playing this on expert mode while using a game genie code to lessen the timer to 1 minute. I failed to beat the game in one life, but I did manage to beat it while under those strict conditions.
Why not subject myself to such torture? Self-imposed challenges are ways to bring fresh life into a game, and this was one of the first games I tried altering game genie codes for back when I was younger. Also, the one minute challenge doesn't work without the code because the weapon energy speeds up with the less amount of time that you have, and if you use your weapons once during a normal playthrough it becomes impossible to do on that life.
i`ve seen a video of some guy getting perfect on the mega drive version, and the mega drive version made the snes and super famicom version look like majora`s mask
I think him and Majaba were the two most difficult enemies. Zebokon because he's by far the most aggressive of all the monsters and is constantly charging you, while Majaba is far too quick to beat with the "Spam Ultra-High Jump Kicks" tactic that works for every other boss. In fact, the technique shown in this video is probably the smoothest and cleanest I've ever seen anyone beat Majaba.
Got to a point where I could best this pretty easily, it's like memorizing a Mike Tyson's punch out fight pretty much but more exploits here, that high jumping kick can hit all the time.
Literally was talking about this because my boyfriend saw a meme with Ultraman. Seriously was going to drive me crazy thinking about this game. I could see it in my head and of course he didn't have a clue lol finally found it and here I am 😍
I bought this used at blockbuster video. No box or instructions but it wasn't hard to figure out lol a very basic fighting game but I still really enjoyed it very much.
Wow I remember playing his as a kid on my SNES...Could the characters move any slower? Haha hey should bring it back as an app game for the phone except a lot quicker
This was not for kids. You actually had to READ the instructions before playing the game.
Yo.. this game was hard af
Yes, and only because the controls sucked.
Yes! I almost never couln'd make the final movement to win.😆

I don't know how ro Finish Gudis
Memories.
Dreadful, dreadful memories.
The memories on this game, childhood right there!
Me too
it took me a long time to find out how you finish off a monster.
when my sister says this must happen with level 4 the plasma shot and the meter says finish so i tried... and ka-boom.

LOL... That's exactly what I would do.
Don’t forget the front kick right after doing what you said. Haha.
YESS!!
Even I did the same!
The roll does it too
the sound track is still epic!
the sounds of ultraman are the best kkk 'thhuuu blheee'
And remember....epic spelled backwards is cipe
i love you
I have never passed the first stage when I was kid, now I want to find this game and take my revenge!
Lol same. That's why I looked it up to see how it was done
Bro I'm playing the rom right now and Im searching for how to do the finish move. I got this as a kid too and could never get past the first stage and I was so mad at my mom for buying me that crap for Christmas😂
"yaah" -punches- "baagh!!" - throws gudis. Lol love the sound effects. Great game.
The baagh you hear to me sounds like zoffy's grunt from the ultraman fighting evolution series.
I remember playing this a long time ago. Never could get past Gudis II.
Jason McCloud stage 6, right after facing Gudis ll ...is just murder
i literally kept getting hit by the superspeed charge of zebokon
Jason McCloud Yeah, Gudis II was hard.. I couldn't get past him too
+Tim Turner the tazmanian devil knock off?
+TheChoujinVirus oh wait..Degola's the Taz knock off..
+Jason McCloud You and me both! XD
Brings me back to some great years of my childhood. Thanks
Oh man, the childhood feels and the pain of Gudis II..

+doomsday2602 What, seriously? Majaba appeared in a stage show?
Yes live performance fighting Ultraman Mebius.
details later I have a photo Majaba especial vs Mebius.
Gudis appeared in a stage show and others Ultras.
In a live performance fighting Ultraman Nexus.
Majaba recently appeared in an stage show at a special event fighting Ultraman Orb.
I remember getting frustrated as a kid playing this game. The controls we're whack!
Ryan they really we're awful, some of the worst ever. The sounds are awesome though, the "yagh!" And "hyeas" are classic.
The controls weren't as bad as the cheating ass AI
Me too.
Ultraman: TOWARDS THE GARBAGE. Geez this game was a pain in the ass.
One of the first snes games I rented..memories 🎮
Same. Brings me back
this game scared the shit out of me when I was like 6 or 7
Now it just scares people because how bad it is
Seriously lol I never could make it past the first boss
i love how it feels and the characters move as if they were huge and could crusjh cities. great feel. very accurate giants-attacking-and moving- feel
don't think I ever beat the 1st level lol
Me either mate lmao
I always ran from him until time ran out. Fucking terrified of that thing at 6 years old 😆

Thank you for this. It wasn't a dream, this game really happened!
Damn that Zebokon fight was nail biting...
Pain in the ass game.
When it says "FINISH" on the bosses you defeat, it's like Mortal Kombat: "FINISH HIM!"
Those Street Fighter anti-airs were on point against Majaba and Kilazee. good shizz
I still have this 🎮. Great memories.
The game wasn't good (but that music is wonderful), but this introduced some of us to Ultraman.
I got this game in the collection. Only played it once since I’ve had it and it’s going to live on in memory and never be played again lol
"GAH, ZSHUE, BAH!!!" lol, It's so camp and hammy but so fun to watch! What a total flashback! Go Ultraman, go!!!! That one monster was the spitting image of Alf...
Yeah or like that brown alien from Bill &Ted Excellent Avdenture movie
Oh his name degunja
if you listen closely, you can hear that Ultraman only says one word the entire game..."fap!"
Underrated comment, soon as I saw him fly into the air then say "FAP" had a good solid 5 minute laugh on how you ruined my childhood hero lol
Kkkkkkkkkk

Wow what a flashback! I took me forever to beat this game. It used to piss me off really bad. Lolol
This game was so hard, but the patience pays off at the end of each battle.
I had this game when I was younger, and I enjoyed it. I thought it controlled rather well for a Godzilla-type game.
💩Crappy controls, but I had a lot of fun playing this piece of shit when I was kid.
Very nostalgic and great soundtrack! 😘

Can any level attack finish the opponent or just the L4?
how to use the laser to finish?
Why the main theme is almost identical as Superman
