Jack Shindo and Stanley Haggard are the first men to land on Mars. Upon arriving they are met with none other than the strange alien monster Gudis. As Gudis was slowly moving towards them a giant silver humanoid by the name of Ultraman Great came to the rescue. After Gudis pushed Great aside he killed Stanley as he tried to escape in the ship as Jack was trapped by a rock slide. Great quickly got back up and used Burning Plasma to knock Gudis down. Gudis fell dead by the Burning Plasma's true power, but not before he sent a virus to Earth. To save the humans of Earth Jack had become Great's human host and went to Earth.
The next day, Bogun appeared that was created by the Gudis's virus. Bogun changed his appearance from that of a tadpole to a gigantic brute rampaging through the United States. UMA was sent to destroy it, but only succeeded in annoying Bogun. It wasn't long before Jack used the Delta-Plasma pendant to turn into Ultraman Great. As the two clashed, Great seemed to have the upper hand until Bogun used poison gas. However, the ultra persevered and eventually used Burning Plasma to set Bogun on fire.

I always respected the production of this series. They make the costume so real, it looks so giant and big. The camera play and the CG was too good for 90s TV series. Also a big fan of the music and the story. I hope someday Jack Shindo actor can make a cameo in some of Ultraman series xD
One thing I noticed is that this particular Ultraman's suit, (which my brother and I had the SNES game along with some of the toys), minus his helment, is made of spandex /cloth material, while traditionally, Ultraman suits have been made using either rubber, latex, or leather material. Probably went with that for more mobility but you really notice the difference now when he shows up in Ultra Galaxy Fight : The Great Conspiracy movie where he shows up alongside Ultraman Powered the Amercian/Canadian based Ultraman show from 1994) to help train Ultraman Rebut (one of the newer Ultrramen). They kept Ultraman Great's suit accurate to the original Ultraman Towards the Future show, so when you see him standing alongside Rebut and Powered, there's kinda of a big difference there..
That movie by the way alongside its prequel: Ultra Galaxy Fight: New Generation Heroes, can both be viewed on CZcams and they sell them on Blu-Ray and DVD.
I wish they made more episodes. I talked to Jack Shindo actor at a Chiller Theater Con in Parsippany,N.J. couple of years ago. He said the plan was for 50 episodes, but the issue was always about money. 😎

FINNALLY FOUND THSES EPISODES OF ULTRAMAN! ONLY HAD 3 EPISODE ON A VHS TAPE! NOW CAN WATCH THE REST OF EM'. all the had a nostalgic feeling for Ultraman by googling ultraman 1990s australia/new zealand. very happy!

@@ViewpointProd Yeah this uploaded vid has options to go from 144p up to 1080p, but you really only notice a visual difference if you set it at 360p, 240p or 144p, as all of those are lower resolution than the standard definition of 480p.
Once you set it above 480p, as in 720p or 1080p, neither of those are any different from the standard definition of 480p really.
Finally i found this series..i forgot the title ..its bring back my childhood by watching this🥰

30 years, and i still remember the opening and ending themes, and some of the fights back from my childhood. what a classic. this ultraman has 1 of the most OP abilities of all the ultraman. he can reflect any energy attacks fired at him, and throw it back as a concentrated blast

because the suit design is using thinner material; either spandex or cloth, as opposed to the tradtiional thicker material the Japanese productions (and North American production of Ultraman Powered circa 1994) use which is either rubber, leather or latex.

I remember there being a different reason why Ultraman could only maintain his form for max of 3 minutes on Earth in the original 1966 series. Also, it had a distinctive sound cue and pose and growth sequence, where here he just flies into the camera. Also it's just a pendant that consists of a triangle with a bubble on it, whereas the original 1966 series consisted of a weird capsule thing with a button on it, and Ultra Seven and Tiga both had a pair of glasses they put on. The transformation in this series is comparatively lame.
Unlike other series produced in Japan, this opening definitely has the "western" vibe, and not to mentioned it sounds so familiar, as if the opening of Star Wars...

I'd liken it more to Voltron's Western Theme... especially when compared to the GoLion theme and the typical Japanese themes of the 90's.

i remembered when i was a kid and i watched this. Totally loved it lol. For a change it was in a language that i understood. So darn nostalgic but more importantly still so epic for a show at that time.
Seeing the next monster that Ultraman great fought kind of reminds me of Twin Tail
Gudis is referenced in Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy, specifically its cells
What I find odd is this was an Australian/New Zealand project yet the 1991 SNES video game based off this series was only released in the U.S. and EU.
Heard many good things about this show. It's about time to find out they are true.

I remember this. They even had this shown in theaters here in Manila roughly three decades ago, with the episodes involving Gudis fused together to resemble a movie.
I love old ultraman story..they design monsters was much more better than today,it look creepy,intimidating n scary..ultraman n monsters nowadays look crap n so childish. i know ultraman show is for kids but i love the old ultraman when adult also can enjoy watch it..the only better ultraman in new era is better cgi..

I really like this production. The best looking ultraman imo. The most realistic looking so far.
It has one of the coolest BGM also XD personally I rather watch this than the new CGI overly done fights >_< is just my personal taste

At the time, shipping was hard. Especially since Tsuburaya was still in Hiatus after Ultraman 80 Ended. They have little money so they can only make spandex suit for Great. It gives him a distinct look, though.
